Logitech G613 Wireless Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

I've bought two of these keyboards now. Just after the two year warranty, the first one started having key chattering issues (double key presses) even after cleaning it out. The "game switch" also broke (something inside the keyboard snapped and now the switch is loose and doesn't do anything). I bought another keyboard because I though I was just unlucky, and if the keyboard is working, it's a great keyboard for me (I look for these attributes in a keyboard: No lights, full keyboard with numpad, audio control and nice keys (Although I'm not a key expert.)).The second keyboard hit the same chattering issue as the first after the warranty period.If you want a long lasting, reliable keyboard, don't buy this one. I purchased a Logitech G613 keyboard again, even though I had issues with the previous one starting to duplicate keystrokes. Online forum posts suggested renewing the batteries. Thiis worked for a period, but then failed, and same issues stared again. Logitech support not helpful unfortunately. Decided to get something else, but when I got to the PB Tech outlet, none of the ones I had chosedn after seeing reviews were available. So, I decided I would give the G613 another go. As others have mentioned here this keyboard has a terrrible douuble input problem after using for a year or so.I thoought I was lossing my mind at first but it started getting worrse and worsse. I saw the "fix" ass replacing batteries which did indeed work the first time but prroblem returred again a few months later. I have since repplaced the batteries oonce more with recchargable batteries from Warehouse a few days y ago and the keyboard is still having double typing issue, I assume the batteries are not strong enough as I found online other users mentioning to ensure you get high quality batteries. Almost perfect

Pros:-Solid construction-Lap friendly design-Mechanical, somewhat silent switches-Good Wireless-Dedicated macro keysCons:-The Romer-G's are cheap switches compared to Cherrys,-Oppressive control and configuration software.-The macro keys do not stay configured without the software running.My use case: I have the keyboard sitting in my lap and game on my big TV with it sitting on a couch with a mouse on the arm of it and the PC sitting under the end table to the side of that.I've owned 4 Logitech G613's. It got to the point where I was wasting a lot of time backspacing instead of typing on Discord or in-game.I replaced it with another. This one also only lasting a year or so before doing the same. With a new lower price, I bought two more. My current one and one in reserve. In between the first two and the recent two, I tried a Razer Blackwidow V3 Pro which I paid a lot for and used very little.In my use case, wired keyboards are problematic, with wires eventually breaking from movement. With the computer and mouse on the right of the right-side of a couch, you need wireless to place the keyboard out of the way to the left to stand up.Another downside is the oppressive software that must be installed if you want to program the macro keys, and the macro keys don't stay programmed if the software isn't running. I use the macro keys, most notably for Discord's Push to Talk key.It's a great design for for "in the lap" gaming. The engineering and non-minimalist design with built on wrist-rest and traditional sunken key design with resting and handling bezel is ideal. The bezel is large enough you can lift the keyboard off easily and set it aside to get up. The lack of vanity LEDs and 2xAA batteries give it life that lasts months. I never seem to have it lose signal.Aside from the cheap switches, these really are quality keyboards. I'd pay triple it's price for one with quality switches.My IDEAL keyboard...Logitech G613 chassis - integral wrist-rest, full keyboard, full-height, mechanical keys sunken, wide bezel to rest fingers and palms on. Replace the keys with Cherry MX Brown switches. Add a simple, low power LED system for backlighting that can be enabled/disabled via a hardware switch. Increase battery count to 4 cells for lifespan or a Li-ION system that can last approximately 250 hours of use between charging (8 hrs a night for 30 days). Use the Logitech Lightspeed wireless system and put a small microcontroller/flash memory on the board so once macros are set on the keyboard, they stay set across reboots and don't require the software running. Hardware Windows key disable switch. Finally, software devoid of metrics collection and spyware. THIS is my IDEAL keyboard.

I purchased 5 of these for a medical office environment.All of them have been through extensive tenchnical troubleshooting.Firmware updates, software updates, operated as bluetooth and as radio.New batteries. Swapped Machines. Swapped USB ports. Cleaned. Update period changed in software, game more swtich on and off. Power on and off. Update bluetooth driver. Run windows update. Googled for other users experiencing the same. - you name it - we tried it. Countless hours of technical troubleshooting for each one.They worked ok for about 6 months - after this period the keyboards started exhibiting repeat character and ghost character inputs. -- even with full battery. The onset of failure was gradual. It started on 1 unit - then another, then another, then another. All different users and machines.They are inaccurate, and waste valuable time in editing for typos. In our environment, this causes a high risk of critial data input error.They are clean. Very VERY clean and had been in use in a medical office.I felt compelled to warn buyers of this possible tendency. No solution could be found except to dispose of them and replace. A total waste of a around $1000.00 for us.Honestly: Terrible.

Great keyboard for multi computer use!

Preface: not a gaming reviewI got this keyboard specifically for my desk at work. I like the tactical feel it the switches and the keyboard itself if built very well.The main appeal for me is the multi device support. I have the USB receiver plugged into my Windows machine, and I have it connected via Bluetooth to my Mac machine.I only issue is I cannot assign the G keys as I am unable to install the Logitech gaming software on my work devices.

Heavier than expected but great tactile feedback

Got this keyboard 1.5 weeks ago, so far so good. Do some FPS gaming as well as some less-intense games (GTA, Minecraft). Going from a membrane keyboard to the Romer-G Tactile was a significant change in typing experience. The keyboard came with a USB extension for the receiver as well as some type of phone holder/stand, with a metal, heavy feel.The keyboard's feel overall seems to be made of good quality, and the palm rest is also a nice component. I haven't gotten a grasp of how to program the G keys yet, though.

First up, the good, because there's a lot to like here about this keyboard: Excellent battery life, short-throw keyswitches that're unique in the industry, a subtle industrial styling that goes with almost any modern desk, and what could very well be the first consumer wireless mechanical keyboard. I got mine on sale and was quite eager to throw it down on my desk. Tthe dual radio wireless/2.4 USB is an excellentt feaature as well, allowing me to also use tthis on my phone! Butt, the bad, thatt I'm sure you've noticed by now: SWITCH. BOUNCE. I don't know if there's dirt in the contactts, premature weaar, oor what's going on in here. But foor several keys now, the keyboard routinely doubles letters when I type on them. It getts worse the more I use the keyboard in a given session. This happens whether I bottom the keys or not, I have not even owned this keyboard for a full year, and it wasn't even my daily driver the whole time during thaat less-tthan-a-year. So my recommendation: Wait until someone comes out with a wireless mechanicaal keyboard that uses real Cherry or similar key switches, oor see if I'm having an isolaated case oof premature faailure, and if I'm not the only one with this problem, steer clear of these sadly craappy Romer-G short throow switches.

Most mechanical keyboards available now are "gaming" keyboards with multicoloured backlighting which I did not want, so the fact that this one does not have that feature.The Officeworks I visited only had one in stock, and the box had been opened, so I took it home and immediately found out why it had been returned - the left hand CTRL key had been broken and just sat back in its original place, but as soon as I started typing it slid off.I returned it and grabbed a new one from another Officeworks location but within two days, the CTRL key was also falling off on the new one. The top left macro key lines up with the esc key so its easy to reach a little to far and hit the macro switch. VERY ANNOYING. Just not going to use that key for now. Could be just a learning curb but it leaves a bad feel overall when alot of games require you to hit esc to exit menus. Next point. There are alot of features on this keyboard and you are left with no user manual to outline the features, and how to use/set them up. So, yay features! There they are, so... good luck! Also the batteries that come with the keyboard only last long enough for you to run to the store for new ones. Literally 5 hours of use.
