I bought this keyboard upon its release. It initially impressed me very much. It still does, and maybe it is because I have grown to not recognize how useful it is. You really understand Logitech’s lunge for wireless with this keyboard, mostly if you are a college student (like me) or keep this device at work. It is so versatile. I keep only my iPad connected via bluetooth to the keyboard, and switch the USB between my work and school laptops easily, giving me easy switching between 3 devices. I could’t imagine a working student life without it. That being said, this app does not allow me to give any division of a whole number of stars, leaving me to decide between 4 and 5 stars. The only reasoning for this decision is that the keys, sound, and design choices are mere mediocre. The keyboard is so boring to type on. Having owned the keyboard 3/4 years now, I realize I have had a lot of time with it, but it has been a long time I’ve been hearing a constant springy noise that has sidetracked my thought countless times. Also, a very interesting choice by LT to design their own switches. Not too huge of an issue with me but I have had some keys break and unfortunately you will have to order a full set to replace just one key. It is through this that I decided a 4 star review was necessary. If possible, I would give it a 4.5-4.7 review. I hope you found this helpful.

Unfortunately, that's what I love about it, but it's possibly entirely too loud to have in small quarters with a roommate (like a dorm room or a shared bedroom).Enter the TKL. Virtually silent, but still good feedback. I didn't want to wait for the clicky version of the TKL to come in, and I wanted to spare my fiancé's ears while she slept, so I got the TKL tactile. In my opinion, it's the better of the two, as there's not a row of G buttons down the left side (and I tend to over/underreach for the escape button--I'll be mashing it to no effect until I notice I'm actually hitting G1). Smaller, more portable, and an odd omission on the G915 becomes glaringly obvious on the G915 TKL: a slot for the USB dongle. The TKL has one, but its big brother doesn't? Maybe it's for the increased portability, but I still think it's an odd omission. As far as connections, I notice zero lag between the Lightspeed 2.4Gh and the Bluetooth; however, that comes with the caveat of my being an amateur gamer: I've yet to personally defeat the Ender Dragon without a partner and my KD on Cold War is about 1.6. I'm not that good.Overall, both keyboards are comfortable to use, especially if you're coming from laptop and chiclet style keyboards for the last 10 years. The click on the clicky version is extremely satisfying but also extremely loud. Even the Razer green switches were quieter. The tactile is quiet with good feedback (I personally don't like the lack of click--it's an adjustment :( ) and the better of the two if you don't use macros or need to map key functions very much or very often (I don't).

With its sleek design, responsive mechanical switches, and customizable RGB lighting, it's a top-tier choice for gamers seeking the best wireless keyboard on the market. The G915 Lightspeed boasts a sleek and premium design. Its low-profile form factor gives it a slim and modern appearance, while the brushed aluminum top plate provides durability and a high-end feel. The keyboard's build quality is outstanding, ensuring it can withstand intense gaming sessions and everyday use.Logitech's Lightspeed wireless technology is a standout feature of the G915 Lightspeed. It provides a lag-free and ultra-fast wireless connection, delivering the same performance as a wired keyboard. You can enjoy the freedom of a wireless setup without sacrificing the responsiveness and precision required for competitive gaming. The GL Clicky mechanical switches on the G915 Lightspeed offer a delightful typing and gaming experience. These switches combine a tactile bump with an audible click, providing satisfying feedback with each keypress. The switches have a short actuation distance, allowing for fast and precise keystrokes, making it ideal for gamers who prefer a tactile and clicky feel.Customization is a key aspect of the G915 Lightspeed. The keyboard's RGB backlighting offers an extensive range of customization options. You can personalize the lighting effects, colors, and patterns through Logitech's G HUB software. The ability to synchronize the lighting with other compatible peripherals adds a captivating visual element to your gaming setup. The G915 Lightspeed's battery life is impressive, thanks to its efficient power management. With up to 30 hours of usage on a single charge, you can game for extended periods without worrying about battery life. The included micro-USB cable allows you to charge the keyboard while using it, ensuring uninterrupted gameplay when needed. While the G915 Lightspeed excels in many areas, it does come with a premium price tag. The advanced wireless technology, high-quality construction, and mechanical switches contribute to its elevated cost. Additionally, some users may miss dedicated media keys or a USB passthrough feature, which are not present on this keyboard.Another consideration is the limited wrist rest support. The G915 Lightspeed does not include a detachable or adjustable wrist rest, which may be a drawback for users who prefer ergonomic support during long gaming sessions. However, third-party wrist rests can be used as an alternative. In conclusion, the Logitech G915 Lightspeed is the ultimate wireless mechanical gaming keyboard that combines performance, style, and convenience. With its sleek design, responsive mechanical switches, customizable RGB backlighting, and efficient wireless technology, it offers an outstanding gaming experience. While the premium price and absence of dedicated media keys or USB passthrough are worth noting, the G915 Lightspeed is a worthy investment for gamers who prioritize wireless freedom without compromising on performance.

I bought this keyboard together with the mouse from the same G line. Everything seems to work ok for the most part, but when it comes to controlling the back lights behind the keys, you can't just do that from the keyboard. You have to go into the app in your computer's program menu and control it from there. However, whenever I try to log into the app, it says that I need to update the keyboard's firmware. But it won't let you do the update via Bluetooth, so you have to disconnect the Bluetooth and connect via hardline, which is micro-USB to USB. And it isn't that the port doesn't work, because I plug other devices into those ports all the time.So now the lights either rotate through different colors (which is kind of weird in an office setting), or the back lights just don't turn on at all (which can make seeing the keys difficult in certain settings).Updating firmware for a keyboard shouldn't even be necessary. What other function could I possibly need the keyboard to do that it doesn't already do once it leaves the factory? And it's not like keyboards need security updates. It's just a keyboard. So if you are going to make a keyboard that needs firmware updates, make it easier to do. There's no reason the firmware data can't be transferred via Bluetooth. That, or put the light controls on the keyboard like most manufacturers do. For the price you pay for this thing, it should do that at minimum. I'm not paying more for the manufacturer to make it more, unnecessarily complicated.

The key lighting issue is a big deal since this is sold as an RGB keyboard ...I have reloaded the software multiple times, created multiple profiles called (new Freestyles) and still have the same issues. I am only running one game, so multiple profiles are not the problem. The software updated again today and the problem still is present even after creating new profiles again. It looked like making a new Freestyle profile might work for a short while only to be disappointed again when the PC was restarted. The odd part is this only occurs on one of my two profiles. Desktop is the one that always has the problem.Just beware this problem is out there. I have two of these on different computers (high end I9 and I7 12th Gen processors and the usual expected upgrades) that are both new and it is the same with both (after the update). Also, if you are planning to use blue tooth, be advised you are limited to what blue tooth allows. BT features are very limited. Basically only full keyboard single color or a preset. No customization is available.Get the wired version. Wireless is not worth the troubles or extra cost. My wife has a G815 and it has no issues at all.

I suggest a pass

I enjoy typing on this keyboard and I use it between work and at home. The onboard memory does not work. I save macros and then they just disappear. I try adding macros using the MR button (which has very straightforward directions) and that does not work. Other quirks are the secondary funtions of the number keys do not light up so you can not see if using in a dimmer light setting. You can't even get aftermarket PBT keycaps so the keys will end up being shiny. The full size keyboard also does not have a storage space for the usb dongle. The price of the keyboard is not reflected in the functionality.I have other logitech products that I use so I am not a hater of the brand. I have at least five hundred dollars worth of logitech gear. The media controls work well ... MoreI enjoy typing on this keyboard and I use it between work and at home. I have at least five hundred dollars worth of logitech gear. The media controls work well and the volume control is great. The battery life can also be fantastic if you adjust the brightness. The gaming mode button also is a great little feature. At this price point I expect to have very little to be disappointed about with the product. The macros not working, nothing storing to onboard memory, no PBT keycaps, and no place to store the dongle make this a keyboard to pass on. Whatever happened to the value of the dollar? $250 used to buy you something actually worth $250.

Solid Keyboard

This keyboard reminds me of the keyboards that were around in the earlier days of PCs.The colors on the keyboard are many to choose from and the keyboard provides a key to dim the lighting of the keys. The rollerbar for the sound is unique. Prone to an easy touch raising or lowering the volume. My 1st gaming keyboard so it has taken a while to adjust to the G1 - G5 keys on the left side of the board.Minor issue -- my previous Logitech keyboard had a key that activated the calculator. While I did use it somewhat, it is not terrible that it not available.CONS:I purchased this keyboard at the same time I got the G502 mouse (gaming mouse). As best I understand things, both the keyboard and mouse require unique receivers using up 2 USB ports. As best I understand things, both the keyboard and mouse require unique receivers using up 2 USB ports. I had hoped one or the other would recognize the other device. It seems that the details for numerous keys and how to configure them is minimally provided. Perhaps the younger generation is more aware of the symbols on the different keys but I would love a clear explanation and examples.SERIAL NUMBER -- BEWARE, the SN on the outside of the box does NOT match the SN inscribed on the bottom of the keyboard. The registration process provided by Logitech does NOT alert the user to this. Numerous emails with their support resulted in this discovery. Finally got the keyboard officially registered. So far the keyboard has functioned well with both gaming and as a regular keyboard for doing the necessary writing of emails and documents.I opted for this mechanical keyboard after learning that other non-mechanical keyboards use a membrane to activate the specific key and repetitive use of any key (which is what is required with the games I am planning) could impact the membrane causing it to be less sensitive or being recognized. It does seem that keyboard is loaded with lots of extra keys offering multitudes of options for those that may have varying users--such as the configuration of the M1 -M3 and MR buttons.I had an earlier version of the Logitech software installed--that software did not recognize this new hardware. The Logitech G-Hub software only recognizes this keyboard.Unsure if the Logi Bolt software is required--have not taken the time to remove this software to see what, if any, impact it may have on this hardware. If you don't like hearing the keys clatter as you depress them, I would suggest you avoid a mechanical keyboard. While I have only had the keyboard for about 1-2 weeks, I am slowly adapting to some of the new keys and features. Still need to research to better understand any benefits of configurations and the use of the various new extra keys.

TL;DR G915 is nice to type on so I typed a lot.

Positives:The tacticle switches are responsive and nice to type on, they're not aggressively loud and are probably a bit quiter than other Low Profile Brown/Brown equivalents I've used yet still have the satisfying bounce you want from them. The Logitech software for setting up lighting is painless to use and if you open it the battery % remaining is front and centre. It lasts longer than 24 hours constant use according to their website, I alternate charging my mouse and keyboard when I leave the computer with the same micro-usb cord that I hide away when not in use, so I've never seen it get "Low". The battery will last longer without the backlighting on if you're concerned but come on, we're all gamers here, we know we want the backlighting, don't act like you ... MorePositives:The tacticle switches are responsive and nice to type on, they're not aggressively loud and are probably a bit quiter than other Low Profile Brown/Brown equivalents I've used yet still have the satisfying bounce you want from them. The Logitech software for setting up lighting is painless to use and if you open it the battery % remaining is front and centre. The volume scroll bar in the top right is also very slick.Keycap feel is meh, it's a bit basic, literally not as good as getting custom keycaps but I haven't looked into if that is even possible with this keyboard yet. Apparently they wear out fast but I am only a few weeks into owning this as of January 2023 so we'll see how they go. Hopefully I can extract replacement ones from Logitech if they do wear out. Future me problem now. There's no wrist rest but it's quite thin so my wrists aren't bent on a bad angle trying to type from resting them on the desk, I'm very used to not using a wrist rest since before I purchasd this keyboard so that hasn't been a bother for me. My small portable non-Logitech keyboard is taller than this one, and I have no discomfort using that one either. Take that how you will. The G915 uses a Micro-USB cable to charge from instead of USB-C and I know some people find that unbearable. Logitech saving money I guess, but don't be that concerned. You probably have enough USB ports in the back of your computer for a micro USB cord if you're considering buying this. The cable supplied with the keyboard is long enough to route under your desk cable tray/webbing and retrieve for charging when you go to bed, and my PC is under my desk, so if yours is on the desk you'll be fine, but also fine if not. Like I mentioned before, I charge my mouse with this same cable (the one supplied with this keyboard) so it is a non-issue for me.I am happy with this keyboard, thank you for taking the time to read to the end of my review.
