The Logitech Harmony 350 is a great way to organize the control of several components involved in everyday home entertainment enjoyment. First of all, it does the work for you in programming the logical buttons on each layer by merely selecting the components involved in the system. By design, the controls are laid out intuitively and the user becomes familiar with the process for each kind of viewing situation. The construction is excellent and the ergonomics of the shape and the functionality of pressing buttons is very comfortable. We are on our third unit in a little over 4 years only because it gets a lot of use and two or three of the most commonly used buttons tend to wear out the contents. There are 4 members of the household and the remote gets used a lot. ... MoreThe Logitech Harmony 350 is a great way to organize the control of several components involved in everyday home entertainment enjoyment. A word of caution about a rather lame "feature" of the Harmony 350. While it IS possible to assign a desired function to any one of the keys, these user assigned functions must be preceded by pressing one of the device functions - FIRST. You cannot remain in the ACTIVITY MODE (Logitech tells you that the 350 is NOT activity-based - but - that's a fallacy - it IS activity based UNTIL you want to invoke a command OTHER than one which Logitech has arbitrarily designated as part of this basic activity. The result is that, if you've programmed a user assignable key, the Harmony 350 has to exit its ONE ACTIVITY mode and must be placed into DEVICE mode - before you can press the user assigned key.The consequences of this lame design, isn't intuitive until you work ... MoreA word of caution about a rather lame "feature" of the Harmony 350. Volume up controls the proper device. Channel down controls the proper device.BUT - if you've programmed one of the user assignable functions, BEFORE YOU CAN PRESS THE USER ASSIGNED FUNCTION KEY, you MUST SELECT THE DEVICE FIRST!!! So, in my case I want the SLEEP function on my Sony TV and I because SLEEP is not one of the functions that Logitech decided is included in the WATCH TV ACTIVITY, I need to press the TV device button first..Not so much of a problem EXCEPT that the Harmony 350 has now exited the WATCH TV activity mode AND you are now ONLY controlling the TV.Want to change channels?Gotta push the device button associated with the change channels FIRST.Want to NOW turn up the volume? You will need to push the device button associated with the volume up FIRST.You are NOW PERPETUALLY STUCK IN DEVICE CONTROL MODE!!!YOU CAN'T JUST PRESS VOLUME UP and/or CHANNEL CHANGE AND CONTROL THE APPROPRIATE DEVICE ANY LONGER!!!!!!Of course, you can push the POWER ON button again, and re-enter the WATCH TV activity - BUT -assuming everything was already on, you just turned everything OFF so - now you have to push WATCH TV again to turn everything on, which allows you to re-enter the WATCH TV activity mode again. This is a really crumby design and what is REALLY curious is, in the programming APP, you are somewhat fooled into thinking your user-assigned command will work with the appropriate device because the APP requires you to SELECT THE DEVICE YOU ARE ASSIGNING THE KEY TO!!!!!!!!!LAME!Be forewarned. It's a crumby remote if you want to do anything more than turn off/on, volume up/down and change channels.

I own the 650 version of this remote, but purchased this for my mother as a giftmas present. She has a slew of remotes so I figured this would be an adequate solution. Although the functionality of the remote does what its supposed to, its still very flawed in my opinion. My biggest gripe with it is there is no "all off" button, like there is on the 650. I understand this is a model down from that but it seems kind of moot to have a remote that can turn all the devices on with one button, but not off, like this one. You can press "watch tv" and all the devices power on as expected, but you have to manually switch to each device to power them off. And if you press the "watch tv" button with one of your devices accidentally left on, the remote will power it off, forcing you to manually turn off each device, and do it all over again.Another disappointing aspect of it was the computer software. On the 650 version, you are able to manually decide which device controls the volume. Which was especially handy if you have a receiver or soundbar, like me. On this remote you cannot pick what controls the volume. When you press the "watch tv" button, all the buttons change their assignments automatically. The guide/channels buttons link to the cable box, the volume to your external audio source and so forth. But not having the option of manually deciding that on the software was very inconvenient. You kind of just "pray" it will work. And if it does not, then you're pretty much forced to return it because there's no manual override in the software. The last issue is the simplest but probably the biggest, and that is the remote only has a watch tv, whereas the 650 can have multiple modes, such as "watch a movie" or "watch on demand" where it will turn on your tv and automatically flip to your on demand channel. That seems trivial but nowadays with rokus, blu-ray players, xboxes and playstations, its very rare to have a living room or entertainment center not consisting of at least one of these things. If you're even considering buying a remote such as this, then theres a 99% probability you have more than just a cable box where you want this remote, because no one is going to buy a $40 remote just to control a cable box, when nowadays 9 times out of 10 the remote that comes with the cable box can control both it and your TV. Though the remote is sleek, and extremely fast, I just found it too impractical and flawed for what its supposed to be. And even though the 650 is $20-$40 higher depending on where you look, its worth it. The only "benefit" this remote brings, is if you have a small set up, such as soundbar/cable box/tv, or soundbar/tv, you won't have to manually put down one remote and pick up the other to turn the volume up or down. If you feel like spending $40 to eliminate this small task, then this is the remote for you.

This solved my problems, one remote to control a Roku TV, Xbox One and Spectrum cable box, no need for three clunky remotes. The first two worked with the default software setup, but the Spectrum box didn't work at all. I had to use the "learning" method to teach it all the controls. So I wouldn't rate this as "Easy to Program" unless you're sure you have very mainstream devices. I checked before buying and it said it supported Spectrum cable, but my box is evidently much newer than the one they support. However, what makes these remotes great is that I could update it myself to work anyway! And even with the Xbox, there were buttons that confused my wife, so I just swapped them in the software. Overall it's very powerful and I love it, but the buttons are very ... MoreThis solved my problems, one remote to control a Roku TV, Xbox One and Spectrum cable box, no need for three clunky remotes. Overall it's very powerful and I love it, but the buttons are very sensitive on the Spectrum. I'm not sure why, I played with the settings for sensitivity but it didn't help. I got used to just being very quick on the buttons, otherwise it registers most clicks twice (e.g., "6" becomes "66"). I've adjusted but I wanted to be honest. It drives my wife nuts.
Wonderful CONCEPT poorly executed. I own FOUR of these for equipment in different rooms. They were very difficult to program in order to get them to work properly. One, of many issues, involved the time delay between one function and another when switching multiple pieces of equipment on and off simultaneously, e.g. TV, cable box and blu ray player. The good news is that customer support is SUPERB. It is NEEDED! Other good news is that Logitech has amassed an very comprehensive data base of even very old and obscure electronic equipment. Presto! No more modifier device buttons each button unique for primary device and accessable. I have a TV, sound bar and a console.4. Do not splash cash for much more expensive other remotes. This one will give you all on the budget.Long term usability is to be determined. One tiny gripe is that, for some teason, there is a notecable latency in some functions execution.
This is the worst remote I have ever purchased in my life. The buttons are small, almost nothing lights up and to make matters worse you have to download a program on your computer and then manually hook with a cord to program it for the initial set up. Not only is it a pain but my remote completely stopped working just after my return period expired and for any additional help the manufacturer doesn't support any type of help or troubleshooting without paying them for support..... Don't worry just hook up the remote to your computer using the stupid cable and then use the original factory remote to "fix it"..... like on what planet does that makes sense? More often than not if you are using a UNIVERSAL REMOTE then you don't have the original.... THIS IS SERIOUSLY SO STUPID!!!!!!!!!!Have I made my point yet? This remote is complete trash.Having an issue? S
At first, I had issues getting the computer to recognize the remote; however afterward I was able to program it. The Harmony 350 is really relatively easy to work. I bought this remote a couple of weeks ago and since day one the remote decides when it'll work and turn my TV on.I've tried resetting it, resyncing it, removing my TV from the remote via the My Harmony app, and called customer support.I did some research online and found out numerous people have had the same issue. I found out that the remote tends to randomly go into 'sleep-mode'. One user suggested a way of getting out of sleep-mode is to try removing the batteries, then press the 2 button while reinserting the batteries. For some, this works and gets the remote out of sleep-mode. This has worked for me a handful of times, but it doesn't always work. This remote is not what I'd expect from Harmony/Logitech. Don't purchase it. Spend the $10 and buy the next remote up or buy the older 650.Mainly..this remote has no screen and no real activity buttons. When you press "Watch TV" the remote starts the equipment to Watch TV but then doesn't set all the default buttons. You have to select each device and then make changes. For example; if you used it to watch Apple TV and then need to make changes to the TV. You'd have to push the device button for Apple TV, make changes, push the device button for TV, make changes, push the device button for your audio device, adjust sound/volume etc.The software also allows for very minimal customization. The arrow buttons and select buttons are small so you'll be constantly looking down to make sure you've got it right. It's such a poor universal remote it's not even worth buying. If you're used to using Harmony remotes and are looking for an inexpensive remote for a spare room, don't expect this to be like your other experiences. I'm surprised Logitech put this out as it in no way is consistent with their other products.
