I usually use the Mx Anywhere mice and just purchased the new Mx Anywhere 3. Sometimes the mouse click sounds bother me after a while if I’m doing anything click-intensive so I bought this one to try due to the silent click design. I figured I’d probably end up not liking it since it doesn’t have hyper scrolling and it’s not rechargeable. I was wrong. I absolutely love this mouse and hardly touch my brand new Anywhere mouse now. I’ve only had it for about 2 weeks so I can’t speak to its longevity but everything else about the mouse has been great so far. It doesn’t feel cheap, no connectivity issues, pairs/comes with the consolidated receiver, the scroll wheel is smooth and quiet, it’s not too heavy or lightweight, and it has side buttons. The mouse is maybe a little on the small size if you have large hands or prefer a larger device, but I really prefer this size myself. The motion is extremely sensitive - I would like it better if it had a way to know if the computer was asleep perhaps and not wake the computer up with the tiniest movement (even someone stomping their foot nearby). But the silent button and scroll wheel was the main selling point - it feels like a luxury - who really needs that? - but I will never go back to a regular mouse given the choice. It's just that pleasant not to listen to that pointless clicking sound all day. I assume the effect would be multiplied in an office environment. This is maybe a more trivial/overlooked peripheral but it was a fantastic purchase in my book. ... MoreThe mouse is maybe a little on the small size if you have large hands or prefer a larger device, but I really prefer this size myself. Do yourself a favor and buy this mouse! The buttons are not truly silent, but are nicely muted -- probably half the noise of a typical mouse. Device switching works well and is quite fast, maybe half a second to switch devices. What I love most about this mouse is that it strikes a great balance between features and simplicity. It's not overly huge and complex to hold, the design is clean, there's very little friction to move it (mine is on an unpolished, natural wood desktop) yet the multi device support, silent buttons, left/right scroll wheel, etc makes it really well featured. You would expect the mouse to be a contraption of plastic and curves that engulfs your hand for everything it does. Pros: Comfortable size, great connectivity options, lasts a very long time on a single AA battery. The silent click is a great feature, and is the reason I got this mouse - no more annoying the other people in the room whenever I click. Cons: I own another mouse of the same model which I bought less than a year ago, and the rubbery grip material has begun to peel back slightly at the front right corner. Again referring to the older mouse of the same model, sometimes the mouse resets & reconnects to bluetooth, usually when I lift the mouse and set it back down to reposition on the desk. Adjusting the battery helps prevent this from occurring; the battery compartment's spring doesn't hold the battery very tightly, so even gentle impact can interrupt the power supply ... MorePros: Comfortable size, great connectivity options, lasts a very long time on a single AA battery. This Logitech mouse is great all-around. I like the ergonomics I like the grip and the silent buttons are not completely silent but definitely the perfect mix (think 90% reduced sound) without feeling mushy like a Thinkpad touchpad button. The connectivity is seamless and has never been an issue in waking or dropping. The dual receivers (bluetooth and USB) and Logitech software are incredibly handy, too.My one gripe is that it's made in China - the right button top edge sticks out a millimeter or two and it's sharp and not flush with the rest of the mouse. Since it's a right click, it's never bothered me - I only noticed it when examining the mouse and playing with different grips, so YMMV depending on QC and grip type.Good overall!
Nice, quiet mouse at a great price. It's on the smaller size, just what I needed for carrying in the computer bag. I have long fingers, but not necessarily large hands, and this fits perfectly for me. The scroll wheel is nice and smooth (and also quiet). You can feel some tactile "knurling" when you scroll, so it's not baby's-butt-smooth, but it's not like scrolling over a circular-saw blade either.Using the USB dongle, the mouse is very responsive. The Bluetooth connection seemed a little laggy to me. No stars off unless it does the same when I test it on another PC.I do not intend to install the Logitech Options software so I cannot speak to the usefulness of Flow or reassigning buttons.Pros- USB and Bluetooth connectivity- Can use with up to two ... MoreNice, quiet mouse at a great price. Eight if you include the PC selector button.- Very quiet left/right click buttons- Nearly quiet center click and back/forward buttons- Uses one AA battery (preferred over non-replaceable battery)- Battery life advertised at 2 years.- Has an on/off switch on the bottomCons- Possible laggy response using Bluetooth. I need to test on another PC to be sure.Other consideration:- The USB dongle storage is behind the battery door. If you frequently remove the dongle from the PC, this might be a concern for you (it's not a problem for me).
M590 is a masterpiece, and I'm pretty sure that Logitech knows that it's irreplaceable. It is not because of its price.I tried to replace M590 with MX mouses, but it failed.1) please make silent options for flagship models..!!! I personally don't think there's ANY drawback of silent keys2) PLEASE make a device-switch button onTOP of the mouse, like M590. I switch devices very often, and trying to press this button on the bottom (MX models) is very troublesome.I think making a new model with these two features, plus upgrade with 3-devices connection, laser, and infinite scrolling, I think Logitech will rip everyone's pocket.I don't know if this review will change anything.. but here goes nothing.
I had had a tiny optical mouse that came as part of a mouse/keyboard combo. It worked & still does in a pinch, but I wanted wireless, the option for Bluetooth & switchability between devices, all with modern support (not good but in danger of phasing out support for devices such as the 10-year-old m525). This one delivers, quietly (much more quietly than the keyboard). My only concern is that the Logitech software is mostly unnecessary (except for switching live between devices; switching profile by mouse button is unaffected except that you need the Logitech software to correct any “device 1” vs “device 2” mistakes), is unavailable on Linux, and looks alternately bloated & set up to track the user across Windows & macOS. So after fixing mistakes, I uninstalled it; native drivers in all OSes work for all buttons with the USB, and it just takes a bit of tinkering (especially in Linux, big surprise) to get all functions to work over Bluetooth. USB is best for bootup & BIOS access.
I've had a wireless Logitech mouse for 6 years and it's still going strong. Due to work regulations I couldn't use a mouse with a receiver, so looked for another Logitech mouse that was true bluetooth. This one caught my eye with its simple form and nice red. It shipped directly from China so I wasn't sure this was legit, but after it arrived several weeks later I was pleased to find it looked exactly as pictured and worked smoothly upon setup. I noticed that after a few minutes, my right thumb would feel strangely warm and tingly, but the feeling would dissipate after a few more minutes (radiation? just the shape causing a weird nerve feeling? idk). It's worked great until today, two weeks from its eleven month anniversary. A couple times my macbook took a few ... MoreI've had a wireless Logitech mouse for 6 years and it's still going strong. It's worked great until today, two weeks from its eleven month anniversary. A couple times my macbook took a few seconds to reach the mouse, but this time the mouse remained disconnected. I tried re-pairing. I've used this mouse every day for 6-10 hours, so thought it might be the battery. Still no luck. I air sprayed out any dust, still no luck. I've never dropped this mouse, jostled it, or spilled water, and it still looks and feels brand new. An unfortunate development for the prettiest mouse around.
I like this mouse. I also considered the Logitech Anywhere MX 2s, which was a bit more. In the end, this one was the winner. Here's why:1. It's definitely quiet – not 100% silent. And note that the scrolling isn't a bit louder than the clicking. Still, it's nice how subtle the sound is when using it.2. It's not as fancy as some of the others, but still has horizontal scroll and supports up to two devices. I think the custom buttons on a mouse would only be useful if you're doing very specialized work like audio/visual/video editing and need the shortcuts.3. Although it isn't rechargeable, it only needs 1 AA battery – and supposedly, these last up to 24 months before needing a new one. Plus, I recycle my batteries anyway.Overall, another quality Logitech product!
