However, it turned out the old unifying receiver I had had just gotten damaged from tossing my laptop in my bag over and over, so I swapped it out with another one I had and everything is working fine again. [I could've also just used bluetooth, but I also have a keyboard that uses the unifying receiver, so i just decided to link it to that.]It connects instantly, and switching between 3 different computers with the click of a button works great as well.The AA battery lasts a year or more with use for about 40-45 hours a week. I like the choice to use a AA battery as I don't have to remember to charge it or find the connection wire and I don't have to seek out some weird button battery type. There's a warning when your battery is getting low as well so you aren't stuck with a dead mouse. AA batteries are cheap and you likely have one at your home or work should you need to replace it; which again is less than once a year.For what it's worth, I saw in a couple other reviews that some have had an issue with the rubber grippy part wearing off. I have had no signs of rubber wear, cracks or damage at all in 3+ years of ownership with near daily use.LOOK AND FEELThe style of the mouse is professional while giving you the button options of a modest gaming mouse. It fits well in the hand and is not too light or too heavy. No hand fatigue or soreness. I have had no issues with accidental clicks, other than the 1 or 2 days it took to get used to not hitting the thumb button when dragging [more on that below]. Clicks are solid, scrolling is great. I personally like the incremental scrolling most of the time, but the button to make it free scrolling is nice for long pages or emails. I like the ability to switch back and forth between the two options as well.SOFTWARE AND CUSTOMIZATION'Logitech Options' software is easy to use and not bloated or resource-hogging and has the options to allow you to link the buttons to preform nearly any function you want them to, including keystroke mapping or running programs.With the gesture control, each button can have up to 5 functions. I use one to run different macros and one for switching windows between monitors.The thumb button took a day or two to get used to, and was frustrating that first day. Stick it out though, because now I don't think I could live without it. I recommend pairing it with WinSplit Revoultion [not updated since Vista, but works great with Windows versions at least up to Windows 10; just search for a free, old copy (v11.04) on Google]. I thumb click and gesture up or to the sides to quickly snap windows to parts of the screen at pre-selected percentages. It makes for rapid window organization which is great when coding, writing emails, or organizing photos. To Logitech: working this functionality into the Logitech Options software without having to use a separate program would be a great addition.FINAL RECOMMENDATIONI would highly recommend this mouse to anyone. I will buy this mouse again should this one ever die. Now that the case that I use to haul it broke, I may just buy a second mouse for my house so that I don't need to transport it back and forth. Bought my first one for home and absolutely loved it. Was having a lot of hand cramps with traditional mouse and this one just feels better. Allowed me to use home computer and work computer so loved that. Ended up buying another one exclusively for work. The work one lasted couple of years but just recently the right-click just randomly clicked and sometimes the programmable buttons just activated themselves. Kind of dealt with it for a while and then finally it just wasnt responding to bluetooth very well. I have never used the included wifi dongle so have no clue how well that works. But I have just recently bought my third one of these. And I probably will buy another soon to have as backup.

It would have been nice if Logitech had changed the model number to indicate a new behavior. It would be even nicer if I had an option of buying one with the earlier behavior.

After using the same model of Kingston mouse for years nearly 10 years was hesitant to switch, but this mouse fits the bill for large hand feel, and the functionality of all the buttons really is amazing. Being able to program buttons and gestures for different applications is very helpful for me as a video editor. Also love Bluetooth (with having to use a usb port although it has that option). No noticeable latency on Bluetooth either which is great.Minor gripes: donāt love the feel of the scroll wheel free spin. The clicked button version of it also feels a bit too clunky. But getting used to it. Also miss the scroll click and drag, but have it mapped to screenshot screen which is a neat feature.

I wont be buying this again mainly due to the bacteria farm and the difficulty ive had in changing the keybinds, its a shame since the bluetooth is good.
The mouse looks nice but includes too many substandard details. Take the scroll wheel. An attractive feature of the mouse is that it includes the option to switch between step-at-a-time scrolling and smooth, continuous, potentially high speed scrolling. However, when the wheel is unlocked, it it wobbles and rattles cheaply in its seat, although the scrolling operates ably.
