This is the keyboard that I use for work on a daily basis. The reason I wanted to buy this keyboard was due to the low profile look and connectivity with both windows and MacOS. My overall experience with it has been great so far sparring a few issues. To summarize: Battery Life - I get almost 100-120 hours of battery life out of the MX keys with backlighting off. Every keystroke is registered almost instantly. I wouldn’t recommend this keyboard to someone who has been using mechanical keyboards though. The MX keys takes some time getting used to it like any other keyboard, but the pros outweigh the cons at least for me.

Best wireless keyboard combo

Yes they are pricey, but after many less expensive combos, I should of spent the extra money a long time ago. You get what you pay for. Outside of my mechanical keyboard that I use for gaming, this is easily the best keyboard I've owned. And, it's better for work than my mechanical keyboard. Easy To See Why So many Reviews Are Favorable

I had been using an excellent Logitech Edge keyboard that had lasted 15 years with only a couple of battery replacements until it began acting erratic and died recently - which still could have been the new battery I had installed a few months back. It is just too much trouble replacing that battery. I had wanted an additional Logitech Solar Keyboard as I have several that have never been a problem on other computers, but they just weren't available. One of mine being 12 years old and still performing great. They only require an easily replaced coin battery after a number of years. I miss the MX Keys has no dedicated Sleep function button, but I was able to change the Lock key to Sleep function with the Logitech software - which I found could have been a little more intuitive. I also like the keyboard can be turned off while the computer is in Sleep mode and will wake my Windows 11 computer when turned back on by pressing any key. The keyboard feel is solid, works well sitting in my lap, and the key feel while typing is fine.

Excellent keyboard for a multi-device workflow!

Overall: This keyboard has been an absolute lifesaver for me. I work from home but use my personal PC and work laptop with the same monitors at the same desk. With the MX I'm able to connect to my laptop (M1 MacBook) while the lid is closed and my home desktop PC (Windows). Whenever I want to switch it's a quick tap of the device switch button and it switches instantly and allows me to wake up my laptop and/or PC. I use this paired with an MX Master 2S and it really makes the WFH flow much better! It constantly disconnects and doesn't recognize my keystrokes, or recognizes them all at once and repeats the keys I entered over and over again. I ended up buying a new PC with Bluetooth to connect it, which fixed the problem -The Logitech options software used to customize the keys and lighting was also contributing to weird key issues, like delay between pressing a key and seeing the input. It even had a frustrating bug that caused the volume key to get stuck either increasing or decreasing the volume, which is obviously problematic if you're wearing headphones. I ended having to uninstall it, so I lost some functionality there.

This Logitech Keyboard is a game changer for me and my current environment. Done are the days of having to move around the dongle to different machines just to get it to work. This keyboard features Bluetooth and can easily pair to and store the settings for three devices. If you need to go beyond or don't have Bluetooth on your device, it does come included with the traditional wireless dongle so you can move around as needed. The feel of each key stroke is amazing. Overall this keyboard comes close to being a solid alternative to the other fruit branded one in the market for a fraction of the price. Layout is pretty standard size, not compact or condensed. Some other pro's to put out there, the keyboard has a good weight to it so it won't be easily flopping around your work surface, between the weight and rubber feets, it stays put. The backlight engages when you are typing or motion passes the keyboard, otherwise the backlight dims back to off between type for battery conservation. I've only had to charge it once and that probably wasn't necessary but I did it just to get a charging in after opening it. The keys on the key board also feature some Mac and some Windows specific keys for ease.

Keyboards are very subjective, but I was specifically looking for something with low-profile, flat, quiet keys and this truly exceeded my expectations. Having owned several Logitech keyboards over the years, this one is in a class of its own -- the build is solid, it pairs with 3 devices, and you can remap most of the Fn keys. They have made (some) improvements, but overall it is still a hot mess and I'm not feeling so great about the security of the Unifying receiver (my M650 mouse came with the new Logi Bolt which is far more secure). Both the M650 and the MX Keys also pair via Bluetooth, but I was having some trouble getting it to pair ... because, Logitech. Ultimately, I ended up trading up to the MX Keys for Business version which comes with the Logi Bolt receiver and is also Bluetooth compatible. They keyboards are nearly identical (one or two Fn keys are different) but the additional security was important to me and is also something that most IT departments will support if you want to pair the keyboard with your work laptop. If you need to replace your keyboard or are looking to upgrade, this should definitely be among your top choices.

MX Keyboard Review with Mac Studio comments

The keyboard is great. I love the feel of the keys. Most Important I find the backlighting the biggest feature. The inclusion of backlighting on Logi keyboards keeps me using them over the Apple Keyboards. The Mac Studio M1 Max machine is a beast. I am running Mac OS playing 4k Apple TV video and playing a racing game in Apple Arcade. This in Parallel(s) to a Windows 11 Virtual Machine running the DIRT video game in Steam while steaming 4k Video on Youtube in Microsoft Edge. While this is going on I am running a Fedora Linux Virtual machine streaming 4k YouTube video in Firefox browser while running a SNES emulator playing Super Mario Kart. EVERYTHING ran smooth as butter and ready for this >> using 34-48 % CPU, 25GB of 32GB of Memory (Windows VM used 11GB). My system monitor showed 125 degrees (F) across all cores. Energy used was 25 watts! An equivalent Intel based iMac Machine running half of what I was running tonight would have been spinning all fans at full power and bogging down. During my tests the RPMs were reported at 1300 RPMs and I don’t hear a thing. Hats off to Apple and their design of Apple Silicon. Now if their Software Team could deliver at the level that the Hardware team does then Apple would be untouchable.

Nice Keyboard with Backlit Keys Exception

I have another wireless Logitech keyboard, but I wanted a keyboard that had backlit keys, as I sometimes work in a dimly-lit room. This fits the need with exception. The keyboard feels very sturdy, and it is a tad heavy. I generally don’t travel with a keyboard, so no big deal. It certainly does not slide around on the desk. The angle of the keyboard is fine, and the keys are very comfortable to type. The backlit keys have a timer that you can set, but this only works when the keyboard is plugged in and charging. If the keyboard is not plugged in, the the backlit keys timer is not concise as the keyboard has an ambient light sensor. If the room is bright, then the backlight on the keys might not come on at all. Over the years, I have bought a LOT of keyboards, but the 'Logitech MX Keys' is without a doubt, one of the best keyboards I have owned thus far, if not THE best keyboard I have owned... Sure, it's awfully expensive - but the build quality is fantastic and this keyboard, including its "shortcut" keys / "Media Keys" (volume, media controls, et cetera), work flawlessly with multiple computers, via the "Easy-Switch" keys. The "travel" on this keyboard (i.e. how far down an individual key moves when you press it) is perfect and offers that "laptop-like" experience, and because it is a full-size keyboard with a number number pad / numeric keypad, touch typists will feel right at home. When you do need to recharge the battery, you'll be pleased to see that USB Type is used. When used to multiple computers or devices, the 'MX Keys' can switch seamlessly using its "Easy-Switch" keys and I found that the process of switches between computers was almost instantaneous over a bluetooth connection... Speaking of using this keyboard with multiple computers, it was great to see that the 'MX Keys' keyboard works flawlessly with both Linux-based operating systems (I personally use this with Pop!_OS and Ubuntu) and also Apple Mac OS, regardless of whether one is using a bluetooth connection or the "Unifying" receiver. Bear in mind however, that the "Logitech Options" software will only work with Apple Mac OS or Microsoft Windows-based operating systems at the time of writing. In closing, I stand by what I said above - as expensive as this keyboard is, it is probably one of the best keyboards I have ever used, if not THE best keyboard I have ever used... If you're somebody that spends a lot of time in front of a computer and wants a keyboard that is heavy duty, offers value-for-money and is otherwise "built to last", the 'MX Keys' should be your first choice.

They use different receivers

The keyboard is only compatible with the older "Unifying" receiver, which I believe is discontinued, and replaced by the new "Bolt" receiver. This means you need to use two usb slots, and have to setup the devices separately in the app. Since the app can only access one receiver at a time. They use Bluetooth, but if you want to do any config before going into you OS, Bluetooth won't work. So you no matter how you do it, these two devices are not of the same series products. One uses a Unifying receiver and the other uses Bolt. Most people might be fine with Bluetooth, but there is a slightly more delay in Bluetooth compared to Bolt.
