I’ve absolutely loved the Logitech line of PC Accessories over the last 4 years. Their gaming keyboards are some of the best built, and the software often allows for customization of keys or lighting. The MX line is one of those premium lines of keyboards that I simply love using at the office and in my home office. I currently use the previously released MX keyboard as my daily Mac keyboard at home, and always wanted a smaller form factor for my office use.So I was excited to try out the MX Mini Compact Mechanical keyboard with my work MacBook at the office. In the box you’ll find the keyboard, a USB adapter if you don’t want to use bluetooth, and a USB C cord for charging the built in battery. In the box you’ll find the keyboard, a USB adapter if you don’t want to use bluetooth, and a USB C cord for charging the built in battery. The keyboard immediately entered pairing, with the ability to pair up to 3 devices to the hot keys in the function row. My Mac immediately identified the keyboard as an MX, and following the displayed prompts, I was ready to type away in a couple of minutes. The smaller form factor allow me to maximize desk space, while the mechanical keys feel like a merging of the MX and the TKL gaming keyboard that I love on my gaming PC. The keyboard feels premium, with an aluminum face, backlit keys (several brightness settings), and function keys that work flawlessly on my Mac. There is an LED light to confirm power and charging indication. The USB C port is near the power button, allowing you to charge the keyboard during use. I used a USB hub connected to my Mac (it’s powered), to charge the keyboard without any issues. The design choices for the function keys was really well thought out. Having a screenshot button (CMD+Shift+4), emoji, media keys, and even a dictation button. The backlight buttons can be used to go from low to bright settings (or off), and the clicking is loud enough to know you are typing, but not so loud that your desk mate will throw things at you. The palm/hand detection works well, with the backlight immediately turning on when it detects your hand over the keys, or when you start typing. The keys are responsive, the keyboard design really mates well with my Mac setup, and the battery lasts several days before warning you of a charge.Overall, this really does deliver on the MX experience. You’ll miss out on the 10 key, but you’ll gain useful function keys, a long lasting battery, easy to store in your bag to work on the go, and offers that satisfying typing experience with a quieter click.

The MX Mechanical Mini is a TKL keyboard with a great build quality and elegant coloring for a professional setting. My previous keyboard is a K780 and it has been a great experience, which made me hopeful the MX Mechanical Mini would be even better. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case and my issues basically boil down to the addition of the Logi Bolt.Logi Bolt simply doesn't work as well as the Unifying Receiver, which allowed you to link multiple keyboards / mice and bring the connection on the go. I was also able to enter my PIN at boot, which I'm no longer able to do and forces me to have an alternate keyboard to type that up. One other annoyance is that I've used Logitech for the convenience of using devices on more than one computer and that requires multiple dongles, which I haven't found in Mexico for less than $60 USD.One other thing is that I own an MX Master 3, which means I must keep using the Unifying Receiver. Between that and the Bolt, it's taking up two of my USB ports. And neither play nicely with USB hubs, which is really annoying. I'm definitely not upgrading to the MX Master 3S anytime soon as I just switched a few months ago, and my experience with the Bolt is pushing it even further away (if at all). Also, I'd really like to customize my keyboard and I'm not able to since the Logitech Options+ installation crashes every time I attempt it. I've restarted my computer, downloaded several times, wiped temp files, checked the Windows event log, to no avail. There's just no lOverall, even though the keyboard itself is great, the software and connectivity that goes with it just sucks. I know the Logi Bolt was introduced to provide a secure environment, but it came at a great cost. One that I'm not sure I'm willing to pay up and might end up going back to my K780.

Let's start with the good. It's a slim, 75% layout mechanical keyboard, with some decent, if not particularly awe-inspiring, low-profile tactile mechanical switches. The backlight, while only white, is still bright, even, and not harsh or with a ton of leakage.Typing is no frills, but enjoyable. The brown switches have a slight tactile bump, and though it's not very pronounced, it is noticeable and would make someone who's only ever typed on membrane or scissor style boards very comfortable.Let's get to the bad.The plastic bottom case makes the whole thing feel light, and not in a good way. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why Logitech decided to provide the device with USB-C charging, but opted not to allow wired connections. You have bluetooth, which is great, and you get a bolt USB reciever, which is... fine, I guess? But it would have cost nothing to let you use this thing wired. This, more than anything else, is what drives me nuts about this. There's a lot to like, but there's an equal amount of stuff that makes me scream "AVOID!!!"For example. the Nuphy air75 is similarly sized mechanical keyboard, with hot-swappable switches, wired connections in addition to BT, and has an all metal body. It's actually about 35 dollars CHEAPER than the MX mechanical.IF you wanted to go cheaper, the Keychron K1, K3, or K7 all offer low-profile options, with a ton of options, and can price as low as 80 dollars.tl;dr - unless you're a die-hard Logitech fan (why?), It's hard to recommend this keyboard to anyone, when there's so many better options out there that may not have the brand recognition, but also offer better features at better prices.

Excellent compact keyboard!I use my compact keyboard and mouse on a mousepad-covered 18in x 14in thin panel of wood placed on my lap. That way, I barely have to move my right hand to move between the keyboard and the mouse, and my arms are in a very natural position while working. I've been using compact membrane switch keyboards for decades because they had total width and key layout I prefer, whereas most out-of-the box mechanical keyboards (especially compact gaming keyboards like the Logitech - G PRO TKL Wired Mechanical) do not.I have been agonizing for years about which compact mechanical keyboard to buy because other offerings had keyboard dimensions that were a too wide due to positioning the arrow keys group to the right of all other keys (a waste of space IMO) or with key layouts that exclude the top row of function keys, separate the home/end or page up/down keys, or have the delete key somewhere other than the upper-right corner. Of course, these are all preferences, and those preferences could be addressed by building my own customizable keyboard from a kit. But it all seemed like too much work, especially when it came time to choose which key switch branch and type to use. This model's "tactile switch" variant is acceptably quiet and the typing experience is superior to that of the compact membrane switch keyboards I've been using for work all these years. My only substantive criticism is that this keyboard's USB-C connector can *only* be used for power not data, i.e. all keyboard data is transmitted wirelessly via bluetooth or the included mini-dongle. If I were a hyper-security wonk, the absence of a wired-only connection would be a deal breaker. If Logitech had merely supported a wired-only mode to this premium wireless keyboard, I would have said it was darn near perfect.Logitech, please support a wired-only mode (at least for PC/MAC via existing USB-C) on this wireless keyboard to attain perfection :)
I've used Logitech keyboards and mice for years with my Apple and Windows set ups. For the past few years, my daily drivers have been a Craft Keyboard and a MX Vertical Mouse. When I heard that Logitech was coming out with a mechanical keyboard in 2 sizes and 3 flavors, I was ready. I've been wanting to switch to a mechanical keyboard for a while now, so this was the perfect chance. The MX Mini that I picked up was the tactile flavor. This keyboard comes in a full size and mini version. Having had a full size keyboard for years, I was really wanting to try out a mini version to have a more compact footprint on my desk. This keyboard comes in a full size and mini version. Having had a full size keyboard for years, I was really wanting to try out a mini version to have a more compact footprint on my desk. From an overall size perspective, it feels very similar to Apple's Magic Keyboard in terms of width and length, so I figured it would work great for me.I've been using this thing for about a week or so now and I have to say that I love typing on this. The keyboard feels good and sturdy. The keys are made of plastic, as is the bottom of the keyboard, while there's a metal top part to the case. The keys make a pleasing sound and typing just feels good. It was kind of funny, but the day that it arrived, I was looking for things to type because it just felt so different and better compared to typing on a chiclet style keyboard.Like most Logitech keyboards and mice, you can pair it using either Bluetooth or the new Logitech Bolt receiver. Just to be clear, this device DOES NOT WORK with the older Unifying Receivers. So if you have a device like the Craft or MX Vertical, you'll need to pair over Bluetooth or use 2 dongles. You can pair and set them up in the Bolt desktop app from Logitech or the Options+ desktop app.I actually also upgraded my MX Vertical Mouse to the new MX Master 3S mouse which also comes with a Bolt adapter, so I'm able to have both my work and personal iMac using Bolt adapters. I find the adapter pairing / connection to be more reliable with less latency vs Bluetooth. The MX Mechanical Mini can also connect to up to 3 different devices, one at a time. This is great because if you have multiple computers, you can essentially get by with only needing one keyboard. Using the F1 - F3 keys will let you toggle back and forth between which device you're connected with. Also, this new MX Mechanical Mini also works with Logitech's new Options+ software, not the older Options version. You can customize the top row of keys to do various things, the only change I made was to switch the Dictation key to invoke Mission Control on my Mac.This keyboard is great, it's got a good and solid build, great set of features, bells and whistles, and is just a joy to use.

I find I like the legs extended, which makes my typing experience easier. There is good key travel with the mechanical keys and no excessive noise - you can hear the clicks, but it isn't annoying or too loud, just right to let you know you're fingers are making a connection when you're not looking directly at what you are typing. Of course, you can get the Mini with Clicky and Linear switches as well. The keys are backlit, staying on while you're typing, but going off when not. When they're off, and you move your hands/fingers over the keyboard, the back-lighting comes back on very quickly. The software you download for the keyboard allows various customizations to the back-lighting as well. You can also dim or brighten the backlighting directly from the F-keys on the keyboard as well as turn on the mic so you can dictate, mute the mic, bring up emojis to use in your document, take screenshots, open the search window, video/audio controls, adjust sound, and various other things that can be done directly from the keyboard. Of course, you may customize the Fn keys for any shorcuts you use regularly. You can set the Fn keys to require holding the Function key while you click on any of the Fn keys to work, or you can set it to not require holding the Function key at all while clicking any of the Fn keys. The Mini will allow you to pair your keyboard with up to three (3) separate devices. You can easily switch between devices while using the Mini by hitting the F1, F2 or F3 key depending upon which device you've designated for each device. The Mini allows connection to your device(s) through BT or WiFi (the WiFi receiver is provided that you simply plug into a USB connection on or connected to your device). As is the case with BT in many situations, you may run into BT interference that causes erratic behavior with your keyboard, if connected by BT. In everything I've checked out, any performance problems seem to be as a result of the BT signal being corrupted by other BT signals or even WiFi signals (too many, in other words). If you set it up with BT and have any but the best performance, my suggestion is to connect through WiFi. That's what I had to do but the performance using the tiny WiFi receiver (called Logi Bolt) is faultless! The Mini has a built-in rechargeable battery. Plug in the USB cable provided to charge it. The documentation available says a charge will last about 15 days with back-lighting on or about 10 months with back-lighting turned off. All I can say is that the keyboard, with back-lighting on, only sipped juice from the battery slowly during my use. Obviously, the battery performance depends on variables such as how much steady use it gets each day. Suffice to say, the Mini will notify you when the battery gets low, or you can check it yourself through the Logi Bolt software that brings up a window showing that you are connected and the battery percentage left. If you happen to ignore the battery charge level, and it gets low, you can plug it in using the USB cable provided so it will slowly charge while you use the Mini. Or, you can plug it in at the end of your use time, and it will be fully charged the next morning. The Mini has an off/on switch if you're the type that wants to shut it down when you shut down your computer. Or, you can leave it in the On position so that when you shut your device off, it will enter a deep sleep mode on its own barely using any charge at all.The Logitech MX Mini is solidly constructed with some heft to it so that it stays where you place it without any sliding around. It's built to last!I'm glad I have the Mini. It's a joy to use in every way.
This Logitech MX Mechanical Mini keyboard is an upgrade in mostly every way, compared to my previous rechargeable mini Logitech keyboard. This keyboard being noticeably heavier than my old Logitech compact keyboard, is the only detail about this keyboard, that is less desirable. This keyboard is almost twice as heavy as my older Logitech K810 keyboard. See the keyboard weights compared below, of which I have a really accurate digital scale that I weighed both keyboards with.Older Logitech K810 Bluetooth illuminated keyboard weight: 12.1 ouncesThis Logitech MX Mechanical Mini keyboard weight: 21.5 ouncesThis Logitech MX Mechanical Mini keyboard weighing 21.5 ounces, is really quite a bit of weight, if it is sitting on the lap the whole time that the keyboard is being used. This keyboard is definitely more pleasant to type with, when it is sitting on a desktop, and not on the lap. This keyboard has a really responsive sensor that detects when fingers are near the keys, and this automatically illuminates the keys while typing. The keyboard illumination turns off 6 seconds after the sensor no longer detects hand activity near the keyboard.I viewed this keyboard on the Logitech website, and it says that this keyboard has an estimated battery life of up to 10 months with the backlight turned off, and a battery life of around 15 days with the backlight turned on, so if typing in a well lit room, turning the backlight off will result in a much better battery life. This Logitech MX Mechanical Mini keyboard does have a better than average build quality, compared to most other keyboards, and this is why I am rating this keyboard at 4 out of 5 stars, of which if this keyboard did not weigh so much, then it would be the perfect keyboard. This is definitely the best keyboard that I have ever owned.
I am very skeptical of low profile keyboard in general, I have tried only couple of brands, like Keychron K1 and Logitech G915 KTL so I can't sure if the whole low profile keyboard market is that bad. The Keychron K1 look attractive, but for sure it can not compare with the quality and design concept from Logitech where the G915 KTL looks stunning in every way, but when it comes to typing experience, both the Keychron K1 and the Logitech G915 feel terrible. Here is they they are bad, they both have the similar problem, the low profile key and the key cap are so loose if you put a finger on a key, don't press down but move your finger tip around, the key is basically follow you finger tip, this is where the problem is, when type ping you need to feel a stable key and ... MoreI am very skeptical of low profile keyboard in general, I have tried only couple of brands, like Keychron K1 and Logitech G915 KTL so I can't sure if the whole low profile keyboard market is that bad. That is the enough about the old stuffs!Let now talk about the new low profile MS mechanical keyboard, I bought the Mini version with clicky switches (I have alway been loving the clicky switches). and they came with different switch now where I can feel that they are move stable, with a little more down ward travel compare to the G915.right the way out of the box they the typing feels great, switches are more tidily build and the keycap's insert leg is like the Cherry MX style switch so they are much less wiggle around. This is the key to the overall feel and confident when typing and this is why this keyboard is a lot more satisfying compare to the G915. There are so many review nuts on you tube are talking to much about stuffs like sound test and so much un important feature about the keyboard. For me I just want to focus on satisfaction and how confident I feel when typing, because I what you do, you need the keyboard so you can type text all day. Not listing to sound or this and that. One other important aspect about the keyboard is the layout position of every key, a go layout contribute a lot to how quick can learn about keyboard and productive when you work. For that, I thinks this both the full size and the mini are very well design and I have tom complaint what so every about the layout. One addition sell point about this keyboard is it ability to automatically select Mac or Windows keycap which I wanted for a long time but not many company about make the Mac Ready keyboard like Logitech. I think they finally get it. That is why I am going to keep this MX Mechanical Mini as my main daily keyboard. I wish if Logitech will put the say switch and keycap on the G915, that will be even better keyboard in every way, I love the G915 KTL layout, unfortunately Logitech put the bad switch on the current G915, that make it a nice looking keyboard but such when typing. I they upgrade the switch to something like this MX mini, I will buy it in a hearth right the way.One this to improve on is that I think the switch can be a little more stable, a little less wiggle will be even better. like the gaming keyboard Pro X keyboard that I have been using as my daily coding keyboard, the feel is amazing, I can type fast and so confident with PRO X KTL gaming keyboard. Thanks Logitech for this MX mechanical keyboard, and please make the G915 KTL better with the new switch and keycap design.Best,TN

I have been hesitant to get a mech keyboard, but this one finally ticked all the boxes (low pro, 100% with f16-19, good driver support, instant connectivity, full Mac support, connection for up to 3 devices, programmable Mac shortcuts, doesn't look like a teenage gamers keyboard). After a decade plus of strictly using apple magic keyboards I decided I just wanted something different. After an adjustment period I love it. I do think the caps feel a little 'meh' they are concave from left to right and wish they were more dished out like the regular MX keys. They also do not feel that great for the price point. I switched some of mine out (not all keys will be covered, and they are not shine through) with the Nuphy air75 PBT caps and man they make the keyboard feel, ... MoreI have been hesitant to get a mech keyboard, but this one finally ticked all the boxes (low pro, 100% with f16-19, good driver support, instant connectivity, full Mac support, connection for up to 3 devices, programmable Mac shortcuts, doesn't look like a teenage gamers keyboard). I switched some of mine out (not all keys will be covered, and they are not shine through) with the Nuphy air75 PBT caps and man they make the keyboard feel, look, and sound a million times better. I do like the preprogrammed fn keys for dictation, emojis, mute, and screenshot- they really hit the nail on the wfh head there. I do think they should include separate Mac or windows specific keys on top of the combination marked keys that come with it, especially at this price point. And as an upgrade different productivity labeled caps for video/photo/design/excel etc...The problems I have: the receiver was my preferred way over bluetooth but doesn't play well with Mac fn's (media keys have issues with some music players, screen brightness, mission control related fn keys don't work). On BT everything mostly works. The other thing that drives me crazy is it falls asleep too fast. I use a Wacom tablet so a lot of the times after a brief period of not touching the a key (~1-5 minutes) the keyboard will sleep and when I go to hit a key, usually a programmed fn key, the keyboard will take a moment to wake up, blink and connect. Then the default fn key setting will register instead- which in my case is lock machine. This really messes with my productivity. It even happens sometimes when I have my hand resting on the keyboard. I thought the proximity sensor would know I'm there and keep it on. The battery percentage is wrong as well pretty much always says 100% since I've had it, but if I plug it in it'll tell me the real percentage. Though battery life is amazing, especially since I keep the backlighting off.
