I’m obsessed with these earplugs! I use them when I need to focus and they act as a volume control, lowering the volume of background noises. You can still have conversations with these, just all the distracting background noises go away. I’ve also found these to be amazing for using while reading or meditating. They’ve also made family gatherings with several very loud family members become a much more peaceful experience and they lower my anxiety in those situations. These are perfect for busy places, too. I absolutely love them! They’re worth every penny. I ordered a pair for my partner bc he’s heard me rave so much about them that he wants a pair of his own. I own Engage, Experience, and Quite Loops as well as sets of the mutes. For me, Engage is the best sound and use. I use them often in loud, crowded places. From shopping at Target with all the screaming kids, to walking in New York City, to dining in a packed restaurant, the Engage is amazing. I can hear my spouse far more clearly and more easily in these situations than I can while wearing the Experience Loops.I have some low frequency hearing loss and I’ve found that the Engage Loops filter out more of the high frequency sounds so I’m able to hear more clearly and the high frequency sounds are much softer and therefore much less anxiety inducing. The Quiets are really good for sleeping as they’re soft and they’re good for a side sleeper. The flush with my ear is really nice for sleeping.I do have a few complaints though, which is why there’s a star missing.1) all three types, even in extra small silicone covers, are too big for my ears and are honestly painful very quickly. I know I have tiny ear canals, and I’ve never found ear plugs that don’t hurt, but I’d love for Loops to find a way to do even smaller earplugs.2) I really wish the Engage were as pretty as the Experience. The metallic colors of the Experience make the Loops look like jewelry and I love that look so much. It makes me so sad that the Engages look much more like hearing devices with their clear look. Please make the Engages in the metallics. So with that said, between the Loops being too big and thus painful, and with the Engage being the one that works best for me but isn’t my style of pretty… I’m actually considering trying the Calmer by Flare. If it’s going to look like a hearing device, I may as well try finding one that doesn’t hurt.

I was recommended these ear plugs through therapy and i honestly thought they wouldn't help because i hear pressure when i wear standard foam ear plugs or muffs. Just a constant psssssssssssssss sound and my ears hyper focus on that sound and it almost becomes deafening. The moment i put these earplugs the whole world felt different. These are a fantastic product and with them being so different looking they brought questions at my workplace. Any conversation about them on a break leads to a coworkers ordering a pair for themselves. It blows peoples minds that i wear them all the time and it makes it easier for them to want to try them.

I purchased these after beginning a job in a print shop, where there are often multiple loud machines and multiple loud conversations that play havoc on my nerves. Like many other users I am autistic and have ADHD, and have a particular sensitivity to sounds. Before buying I was also worried they might not fit, as one of my ear canals is smaller than the other and seems irregularly shaped.I got them in solstice orange and from the first day I tried them at work I felt immense relief. They successfully dampen the ambient noise while mostly allowing me to hear what others are saying. I have found that if someone is trying to speak to me from a few feet away I can't always understand them, but it's easy enough to pull the loops out and put them back in. I feel much more confident going to noisy or crowded places with them now, or even just rooms that have a lot of echo. I've had them for about two months and don't leave the house without them.As some have noted, they do come with a carry case, and it's okay at best. If you don't arrange the loops just-so in the case it does not fully close and will pop open. I keep mine in my pocket so I have not had a problem with losing them, but I can't recommend keeping the case loose, as on a keychain or lanyard. I had also hoped these would help with the misophonia I experience when hearing others chew, and it does to an extent, but if I wear them while eating my own chewing sounds make it impossible to hear anything else. I think this is less a flaw of the loops themselves and more an inevitability of any earplug.Either way, I'm very satisfied with my purchase and grateful to have this accessibility device. I will probably buy the Engage Plus once I have the extra money for it.
I bought these for carrying on conversations in noisy environments for work and leisure, and also for noise sensitivity. I like the transparent design so it doesn't draw much attention to itself and they are not uncomfortable to wear. I find these Loops can help take the edge off moderate noise but is insufficient for nosier situations such as screaming children or loud concerts. Furthermore, the whole point is that you're supposed to be able to "engage" in conversation with them, but this is only semi-effective as I frequently struggle to make out some speech and need to ask them to repeat themselves. You could try wearing only one earplug to get some of the benefit and still be able to understand what people are saying. For the price, I am disappointed by the mixed results but I might hang onto them anyway because I don't have a good alternative other than sticking wads of Kleenix in my ears which isn't as comfortable or discreet.
A few months ago I bought a pair of Engage Loops after reading about how they can help alleviate anxiety to a small degree during social settings and to help you focus. I've been wearing them at work and to different social outings and, as someone with social anxiety, they've been helping me a fair bit! Obviously they're not a cure-all, nor would they work for everyone, but I find I'm slightly more settled when background noises are muffled and I can wear the Loops comfortably with little occlusion, which really nice as that absolutely drives me nuts with other types of earplugs. After having such a good experience using the Engage (which now go everywhere with me!), I invested in the Experience Loops in anticipation of a music festival I was going to be attending ... MoreA few months ago I bought a pair of Engage Loops after reading about how they can help alleviate anxiety to a small degree during social settings and to help you focus. I had thought about just wearing the Engages, but after months of weighing the pros and cons, I decided against that. I have just come home from said music festival and I will say I do not regret making that decision! The Experiences are FANTASTIC for concerts! No ringing in my ears, I could hear every lyric perfectly and still converse with my partner between songs. Both types of Loops fit perfectly (once I determined which size ear tip I needed) and my ears were not sore after wearing the Experiences for an extended amount of time 2 days in a row. If you're on the fence about getting Loops, I highly recommend them! They're a solid investment, and your ears will thank you in the long run, and the aid they provide for noise sensitivity are second to none!
My husband is autistic, and I have had issues with ears my whole life. With my husband, he gets auditory sensory overload. Whenever we would be in a loud, busy place, I could visibly see he was anxious and all the sounds were hurting him. So I spent a long time trying to find something that would work for him, I eventually came across these. I will admit I was hesitant. The day we got these we walked to the mailbox, and he opened them up right away and started using them, he said he automatically heard the difference and I saw him relieved. The wind was blowing, there were cars passing right by us and there was a small dog barking, and he told me he could barely hear any of that, and he was so thankful. He described the audio he could hear as clear. We have an old loud dishwasher in our apartment that really hurts our ears, so we used to either go on walks for an hour or just leave the house for an hour every time we turned it on but with these all we have to do is wear them, and it drowns out enough of that noise for the washer not to hurt our ears anymore.I have had surgery more times than I can count on my ears, my native language is ASL, I then learned how to speak English after some hearing tubes were planted into my ears. The tubes are still in my ears so sound bounces around in the tube to make the sound louder to me, so I can hear it, a lot of common sounds are a lot louder to me and these ear plugs are just what I needed. They deafen the sound just enough to the point that life doesn't feel exhausting anymore, my ears don't hurt anymore after wearing these, and I can comfortably listen to music with these. It drowns out background noise and I can hear my husband just fine when he talks to me.If you were like me and hesitant to buy these, PLEASE JUST BUY THEM. They are a total life changer.
Hello! High function autism person here who works in a kitchen that is half spanish. I have to say these are absolute life savers. It blocks out all of the excessive noise I don't realize I'm hearing that adds to my stress. The blenders, water running and boiling, the dish pit clanging and breaking dishes, the fridges opening and closing, the oven timer going off, the tilt skillet lighting every 2 minutes not to mention the excessively loud spanish music and yell talking amongst many other sounds. With these earbuds all I hear is the music, blenders and talking and everything else is either greatly filtered out or gone completely all while still being able to understand someone when they're talking to me. With these earbuds all I hear is the music, blenders and talking and everything else is either greatly filtered out or gone completely all while still being able to understand someone when they're talking to me. I'm used to taking earbuds out when someone talks to me but it's almost harder to understand people without them in. Also, if they're deciding to play the music especially loud, adding the the extra mute inner plugs takes care of that too. It took a few wears to get used to them and they kind of feel like putting cotton balls in your ears at first but after a few times I forget that I'm wearing them. It also takes a minute to figure out how loud to talk as they make you sound a lot louder than you are and because the kitchen is so loud I'm yelling all day but I finally figured out how much air to push rather than how loud I sound. My job felt difficult and I dreaded every Sunday but with these I'm actually able to focus on my massive list of multitasking without getting excessively fatigued mentally. In fact, they're so awesome that I lost my first pair and IMMEDIATELY ordered another one because I no longer wish to work without them. 10/10 best $35-45 to ever spend.
The loops themselves are pretty good. It's a little hard to tell if I have them in correctly even though they look like they're in correctly from the outside. Sometimes it feels like they're just completely plugging my ears, which isn't really the purpose for this model. Also, the case, at least as of late 2022 when I bought these, is awful. I've had two of them break from falling a short distance to the ground, causing the latch tab to snap off completely. The first time this happened, I lost one of my silicone Loop Quiet plugs in the process (same type of case) and they replaced the case, but I'm left with just one loop. The second time, however, with these Loop Engage earplugs, they're on my keychain, and I guess the keychain snagged on my pocket when I was taking them out, or the keys fell from a tabletop. I'm not sure where it happened, but when I needed them to save my sanity during a show with some loud music, I discovered to my horror that they were gone, and the latch on that case was broken as well. I really hope customer service can help with this. Guess I'll find out now. And hopefully the design of the case has changed in the last 18 months, because otherwise I absolutely do NOT recommend attaching the case to anything by the little loop, lest you find out the hard way that the case is broken and empty when you really needed them.
I am a neurospicy individual that experiences auditory processing issues, and I can’t tell you how much of a difference my Loop earplugs make in my day to day experiences, especially in public. I tend to get overstimulated in loud social settings, and it becomes a lot of work for me to stay focused and engaged with my friends. The first time I wore my Loop earplugs was the night of my combined bachelor party with my husband. We were at a table with our friends at a very loud bar, and I remembered I had them and put them in, and it transformed my experience. I could easily hear my friends at the table, but not the rest of the bar. I was blown away! I traveled the following week for our wedding, and they were an absolute treat to have when a child became inconsolable about mid-flight and my earbuds had powered down.I lost one of my plugs on that trip, and the return flight was noticeably different for me. By the time we landed back home, I was overwhelmed and exhausted. I immediately ordered a backup pair, and am working on designing a pair of earrings for them so I don’t lose them again! They’re a life saver for sure. They are so comfortable in my ear - the only thing I notice when I insert them is the change in my auditory experience. I love that they come with interchangeable sizes of silicone and foam tips for a perfect fit, and the additional sound dampening silicone inserts are easy to insert and remove. I applaud the design of them!I do have a recommendation regarding access to them: I live in Canada and while the expedited shipping option does get them out the door within a few days, they took about 3 weeks to arrive to my doorstep, twice. This is not Loop’s fault, but I can say that there could be some work done on shipping options for international orders - I’ve sent and received things to and from the States in a much more expeditious fashion many times. I only mention this to help manage expectations - I was definitely anxious to receive them, especially after I had them then lost one, and Loop’s customer service did do everything they could to within their current means to help me out.I love Loop earplugs, and I can’t recommend them enough. I can’t wait to try the dampeners out at a concert!
