The problems I've encountered with the majority of Nespresso-alternative pods are 1. Design and/or manufacturing tolerance are not good enough to produce a tight seal once inserted into the machine thus allowing water to leak into the drip tray. This affects the water pressure through the pod which, in turn, affects the resultant flavour. 2. Coffee grains are packed either too tightly or too loosely resulting either in too little water flowing into the cup or the water not remaining in contact with the grain for enough time for the flavour to leech from the grains into the water. 3. None of the alternatives have pods made of fully recyclable plastic. With the newly introduced L'Or pods none of these four negative points apply and so, for me, these L'Ors have now become the pod of choice, knocking Nespresso off the top spot. The fact that L'Or pods can be purchased through Ocado while Nespresso pods is merely an added bonus.

I keep coming back to buying this coffee for my latte macchiatos even though I buy my Nespresso coffee capsules in bulk from the Nespresso website. But none of them taste quite as divine as L'Or's. Deep, rich and absolutely beautiful when you make it espresso-strength instead of as a lungo in a latte macchiato. A double shot and I'm in heaven during the morning at my desk at work sipping my macchiato from my Thermos travel mug. Every mouthful is like amber nectar. Delish! I cannot recommend this coffee more highly. It does help that the capsule looks so pretty too:-).

Nice coffee flavour but the rims of these capsules have a ridge that makes them non-compatible with macines other than L'Or machines resulting in a heavy leakage of water into the machine. I've spoken to L'Or about this, it's a real problem. We've bought our last L'Or capsules.
