I have read both the books and watched the DVDs of Lord of the Rings. They are two different things. I loved them both. The movies are entrancing to watch, and mix adventure, action and fantasy. The classic clash of good and evil still thrills and the settings, costumes and characters are fabulous. The acting is great. I would certainly recommend this series.
