I bought this to replace my original ls2 valiant. 1st impressions even though its the same size as the original according to the tag "xl" the shell size is slightly smaller but other than that it fits snug.The chinbar release button is going to be something to get used too but it wont pop open if someone decided to uppercut you with the helmet on.I was pleasantly surprised that it came with a helmet backpack (as well as a helmet bag) took a solid minute to actually get to the helmet, one of them bag inside a bag things.The helmet had both a clear external visor and a dark one as well visor pops off with two easy to reach tabs.One big thing about the matte black hemet is EVERYTHING is ghosted out on the helmet not a spot of shiny.

Always had problems with sizing on mod helmets. XXL was never big enough so when i saw XXXL i thought great. Its still a little small but bigger than other brands mods. I am still stretching it out a bit but, a complaint is trying to mount a SENA on it. Will have to use the adhesive method, which is not the best since the base is too thick to clamp mount it. Also there is not much room for speakers, may have to cut a bit of foam. Only other thing is that to this date i have not heard back from the company, not complaining just trying to get hold of them.It has the best shield mounting i have seen in a long time. Very easy to rem or inst.!! I have broken shields trying to change them. This one is so easy and adds a lot of value because of it.

Unlike a Scorpion modular, which has a big button that pulls up and brings the chin bar with it, this helmet has a small button that you have to press in, to unlock the chin bar. It's too small for a gloved finger, so you take your glove off and try again, but it still has to be pressed too far in to make both sides unlatch. I broke my thumbnail trying to get it to open, but no dice. It's intensely frustrating.The mechanism for the drop down sun shade works great. The button is easy to get to and easy to operate. This is an excellent helmet. It fits as described and really broke in well. I love that I have three different riding helmets to use. The biggest issue with the helmet is that it chips so easy. I am very careful with my gear and don't abuse it at all. I have found three or four large chips or scratches in which the white shows through. I am going to try to find some matte black touch up paint and see if I can get it to work. My other modular does not have any chips in in after 3 years of use.
Great helmet. this is my 2nd modular helmet. This LS2 is lighter, quieter, and seems to fit a little better than my last one. The chin bar mechanism is simple to engage - a simple thumb under the chin and the chin bar moves up and out of the way. Another simple swipe forward as if you're brushing your hair forward and the chin bar locks back into place. My last helmet was a 2xl, so I selected the same size in the LS2. The LS2 seems to run just a little big. Had I known, I would have selected the smaller size. But I'm not complaining. Over all I give this a 5Star review.
I rarely write reviews, but in this case I hope to save others from assuming that the Valiant ll fits anything close to the original Valiant. It does not. The original fit my oval head in size 2XL. My only real complaint about that model was the whistling noise caused by the forehead air intake vent. I decided to try the Valiant ll but based on other reviews I ordered a 3XL. The new model is for a round head. Even though it's a size larger than the original, my forehead and back of skull were uncomfortably squeezed and there was considerable lateral space to allow side to side wobble. The product quality, features, and packaging were all first rate, but even ordering a size up, it won't fit if you have an oval shaped head.
I ride year round, rain and all that, except ice and snow. I used this helmet for about 3 years now and I'm pretty satisfied for the most part. Had no issue flipping up the chin bar with gloved hands, even with my thick winter gloves. Fits pretty snug to the point I put the helmet on with the chin bar back then close it once it is on my head. Some issues I had was the seal around the visor let some breeze through even when closed completely. Not a big deal except in the cold and during rain. Would be nice with a thicker rubber seal. If you have a bike with a big windscreen you shouldn't have any big issue with a little breeze.I haven't had anything break or fall off so pretty good build quality for three years of heavy use.With it being a modular helmet there is ... The JBLs are quite a bit larger but do sound good. Speaking of sound, I actually think my Cardo system, which is the Cardo Freecom 2+ Headset - Duo Pack, sounds better in this helmet than the one it came out of which was the Sedici Strada Helmet. If you are looking for a modular helmet that gives you a full face and 3/4 helmet in one look no further this is the one. For the price, I personally think that it looks and feels better than its competitor the Shark Evo. LS2 did a great job with this helmet
