Poor quality. Paper thin tape. Tape kinks while retracting. Bought 2 of these and both were unusable within half a day. Why did the original ones disappear from the shelves?

The guides for the metal tape are made of plastic. Whille the metal tape retracts it often 'skips' the plastic guides and james up. Quite struggle to release it. Now my tape is messed up about 1.5m out. For the price and occasional job it's ok. Not something where you need to use it a lot.
