This 9" torpedo level by Crescent is just what I needed. I wanted to level my microwave that I put in and trying to do this by myself is usually frustrating but, with the locked magnet mount it made this chore so much easier and less time consuming for me. I loved that with the enlarged vials it was easier for me to see. It really had better visibility and it comes with a limited lifetime warranty so that is what I look for in a tool usually. I like that it has aluminum reinforcement to help protect from damage if I drop it. I used it to level my microwave and to also, level my oven which was off balance for some reason. I don't have anything negative to say about this product.

I personally believe that every good diyer or tradesman should have at least 3 different sized levels. This level is a 9 inch level and made of plastic and metal. It feels good in the hand and has a little weight to it. The bubbles are large much larger than my old level so it makes seeing much easier. I really like the quality of this one but just 1 more thing would have been nice is if it were magnetic but not a deal breaker.

I have longer levels but I have been encountering situations where a smaller level would have been very useful due to the confined space. This level is your traditional bubble type, but serves the purpose well. The bubbles do seem to be accurate with respect to level (I had a level years ago that was not accurate, so this is important for me to check). One side has a metal edge and the other has a magnet, so there is quite a bit of flexibility in this unit. I also like the cutout on top so that the level is readable from the top in addition to the side.

Real nice level. At only nine inches long, it provides ease of use that longer levels don't allow. I like the composite construction. It feels heavy enough in the hand to give the appearance as sturdy and long lasting. Being that it's not a metal body housing, I anticipate it will weather better than others I have used. The long magnets on the side are not super powerful, but it will hold itself to most metal surfaces (after a short slow slide). All in all, a nice small level with the feel of a much larger one.

The plumb photos I attached were of a steel door, and the magnetic base came in handy. This torpedo level measures level, plumb, and 45 degrees. However the second shot shows the the door is off (not plumb). Keep in mind, that in these photos the Lufkin level is being compared to itself, in the exact same position. The measurement should be the same regardless of the orientation of the level, but its not the same.In short the Lukin is okay for checking the levelness of a surface, but not for plumb work. And since I tried two separate copies and they both had the same failure, the issue was not an isolated manufacturing defect in one unit. I think they have a problem with their manufacturing of these levels in general.
Nice little lightweight level, its a good size that easily fits in the tool bag. Its great for wood working since it will fit inside cabinets or shelves. The material is light but strong plastic and edges are aluminum. All of the bubbles are right on level / plumb and securely attached to the level part. Plus the bubbles are easy to read. They put a extra line in the center to keep in 1/4" pitch which is nice to have. It is also magnetic which I don't really have a use for but great if you work with steel studs.
