This impact performed so well, I bout another for my dad for his projects and one to keep in my truck in case of emergencies on the side of the road. It certainly makes changing a tire in the middle of winter much easier with this weapon of torque destruction!!!

I've used both M12, and M18 tools at work for years, in a dirty industrial environment. They have always held up really well. When I started building my own tool set at home, I was already confident in what the M12 system could do.This Stubby is very impressive, and does what I need it to. It handles lug nuts just fine on my sedan, and minivan.I was renovating an old wooden swing-set/playground, and it drove lag-bolts in without breaking a sweat. Any DIY homeowner should have one of these! I don't have anything bad to say about it - it is a lot of power in a small package. I really like the 4 different settings, which make it easy to snug bolts up, before properly torquing them with a wrench.

This one is roughly half the price of the snapon 14v 3/8. Milwaukee has heavily marketed this impact towards Automotive techs, so I'm gonna be tough on it. It does have more power than the snapon, but in all honesty as soon as you put an impact swivel socket of an extension on any electric impact, the power claims are out the window. I don't usually use impacts with just a socket, as you can usually not access fasteners too easy. The fat stubby nose on this one is kinda clumsy and awkward most times. It's good for small fasteners and such, but just cant match the power of good air tools. The trigger reverse is awkward to use compared to snap on's rocker switch, and I like to gently spin a fastener slightly backwards then forwards sometimes helps to start it, but ... MoreThis one is roughly half the price of the snapon 14v 3/8. Great tool for working on your car. It's very compact and powerful for it's size. It fits in tight spaces and packs a punch. Great for doing brake jobs, engine work, and almost any other thing you can think of. It's strong enough to take off lug nuts on some smaller vehicles. And works great as an impact driver when paired with a 1/4" driver adapter. Has multiple speeds to choose from plus an auto mode which helps with not over torquing bolts and nuts. Overall one of the best power tools I've owned. 10/10 would recommend.
I bought this some time ago but haven't had a chance to use it until yesterday. I needed to change a rear strut on my Toyota Highlander. It worked flawlessly. Removed lug nuts no problem. I was skeptical that it would remove the strut to knuckle through bolts so I doused them with a hefty amount of PB Blaster. This little stubby zipped them right off. Now it's worth mentioning that this is a 2004 vehicle in the rust belt and those bolts have never been removed before. It also removed the stubborn sway bar links. My only gripe is that the 3/8 inch doesn't have a through hole on the anvil to attach a retaining clip. If you're trying to decide between 3/8 or 1/2, go with the 3/8. Use an adapter to go to 1/2. I needed an impact gun that would be able to break loose those rusted fasteners while still gaining access to tight spaces. This little guy does both very well. This is the one tool, that I have been watching for a while and finally pulled the trigger when I found it with a 5.0 high output battery package. I worked on my wifes car this weekend and it had no problem taking of the lug nuts. I actually had my 7 year old kid try it. Its small, compact and packs a punch.Currently I am on the old Craftsman 19.2v platform (I know Milwaukee readers) ,but I needed a dremel, so I dove into the m12 platform. The stubby outperforms my craftsman 3/8 impact. More power and more torque.I am amazed with what they are doing with the m12 lineup. I really wanted this to be a great buy: As a full time mechanic flat rate it was important for me to have a tool that can be used as a replacement if my compressors can't do the job. I bought this guy and have used it about 80% of the time and the start would be my pros: great compact and resilient in a pinch. Has some minor struggle on 17-21 caliper bolts but works if you break them loose by hand that's the let down. Cons : original stubby battery Cp 2.0 and 3.0 is not enough power but sometimes get the job done. Upgraded to a m12 red lithium xc5.0 and my issue starts with the tools ability to hold onto the battery so this is a let down as the tool decides it won't work if the vibration is too much as for the tool. Or if you want really serious power get milwaukee mid torque.
