What color is left is still beautiful, but I would recommend not blotting too much if you want a lot of pigment still.On me, I don't like how this lipstick looks when applied regularly. It looks like a beautiful brown on my hand but oddly grey on my lips. Once paired with the right lip liner and blotted a bit, it looks very nice, though.I also noticed some of the color even lasted through a meal, when blotted and applied on lip liner. My other lipsticks don't last like that, so this is easily my new favorite.I'm wildly in love with this product, and will be keeping an eye out so I can grab more shades. I feel like this line will be what gets me into bolder shades like red or purple, as I usually find those colors to be messy in other lipstick ranges.I will be recommending this lipstick to EVERYONE, that's how much I love it.
I have worn the original Satin formula for DECADES and it was the BEST. I have worn the shade Amorous for almost that long. Original Amorous was blue-toned red lip perfection that I wore on its own and lasted all day on my light cool muted olive complexion. Then it was gone. I was cautiously optimistic when it came back. I read the description of the new formula and I knew from the description it was going to be greasy but, I missed my favorite shade so I gave it a chance.What I love: Updated Amorous has a smidge of grey in it making it even more stunning on my complexion. The second I press my lips together, the pigment splits (that is not a good look), bleeds, and begins to fade not even 30 minutes after applying it. Blotting does nothing but remove the lipstick I applied. The new larger tube is comically large, unnecessary, not elegant, doesn't fit where I store my (many) MAC lipsticks.I don't want to use a lip liner because it will alter this perfect shade. I don't want to be recommended the matte formula in some random shade. I want the old (iconic) satin formula back.
