MAC Studio Fix Matte Foundation Stick✨ Hey beauties, we have a new foundation in our midst and I think it’s pretty cool to have in your makeup bag especially makeup kit if you’re a professional MUA .The MAC Studio Fix Matte Foundation Stick is a soft buttery foundation stick with 0.31 oz of product that costs $31. It is a buildable medium coverage foundation that leaves the skin velvety, shine-free, natural-looking and can last up to 12hours. Now I’d say this is a pretty decent foundation that is buildable and easy to use but it does crease a bit in the areas where it’s applied excessively and does not last a whole 24 hours. I’d recommend using this for events that last a certain amount of time because this leaves the skin looking airbrushed and natural but for ... MoreMAC Studio Fix Matte Foundation Stick✨ Hey beauties, we have a new foundation in our midst and I think it’s pretty cool to have in your makeup bag especially makeup kit if you’re a professional MUA .The MAC Studio Fix Matte Foundation Stick is a soft buttery foundation stick with 0.31 oz of product that costs $31. It also says it is recommended for all skin types but just a heads up, it doesn’t have the best oil control properties. Overall, I’d give this one a 7/10; It evens out the skin, and makes your complexion look soft and stunning so I am here for it ! .

I was pleasantly surprised that the color match, N4, was pretty good for me. While N4 is neutral, I do have cool undertones and I do not do well with yellow or orange foundations. I liked the formula of this because it offers a matte finish, which I do like for general wear with a glowy primer underneath. I like the texture and I can also use a little to sheer out the formula. I love that this has spf, though I could argue spf 15 doesn’t go far. This wore nicely during the day, and still looked nice after 8+ hours. Sometimes I find that matte foundations can feel dry or dry out my skin, but my skin felt fine after a double cleanse. This blended well with a sponge and a brush. I preferred using the brush.

I love the studio fix fluid and picked this up on a MAC sale event to try out. When the salesperson demonstrated the application on my skin I was sold. I though it would be cakey and drying because it reminds me of a cake pan stick and studio fix fluid is high coverage. This gives off a natural finish but I think applying with s brush is best. I honestly think most stick/cream foundations apply best with a brush. This did get dewy on me when I didn’t use a primer, I don’t always use one to be honest especially when I’m not doing a full beat. This lasted all days on the days I’ve worn it, about 10-12 hours. I’m sure blotting will help if you’re oily and I think despite drier skin not agreeing with stick foundations, this is emollient enough to also work well on drier ... MoreI love the studio fix fluid and picked this up on a MAC sale event to try out. This was my first foundation stick and I really liked it. I had been using the same color in the liquid foundation which had been color matched for me by the MAC consultant in the store so it was easy for me to select the foundation stick and order it online from the website. I was looking or a more matte finish and a heavier foundation for my aging skin. I have some redness and the liquid just seemed to not give me enough coverage. I did apply this directly from the stick and then I blended it in with a wet beauty blender and I did it works really well. I used their concealer under my eyes and then some powder on top. The only reason I did not give it a five is that for some reason I found the color was a bit yellow. I would recommend this for women over 40 looking for a more mature skin foundation.

Awesome Foundation Stick!
21 December 2021

I came across this when I was shopping for foundation stick and I ordered one to try and now I ended up having 5 additional purchases because it looks to me this product is being discontinuing. The color matching to my skin is spot on. I love the fact it is not dry yet it gives a semi-matte finishing. Coverage is awesome, too! I use this and the prep+prime highlighter, fill my brow, some brush and a quick swipe of setting powder and I am all set for my morning routine. Takes me just barely 5 mins and I'm ready to walk out the door. My morning makeup definitely looks natural and barely there. I hope MAC will upgrade the product instead of taking it out of the lineup completely. This is mess free, and easy to apply. We busy moms need this for sure!

Best used for a contour and highlight rather than an all over base
16 May 2024

If you have an oilier complexion, this may not be the formula for you. I found it to be very waxy and slipped around my face a little too much. HOWEVER, the shade I ordered happened to be a little too light for me and thus, worked great as a highlighting colour. I would even say a darker shade would work great for contouring, especially due to it being in a handy stick.

Gorgeous but not for everyone

This buildable stick foundation is perfect for my skin - which is combi oil-dry. I love a sheer/blurred almost bare skin look and a thin layer on freshly moisturised skin achieves just that. It blends beautifully with the duo fibre brush too which is the kindest way I think to blend it without dragging the skin around which is something to consider when applying stick foundation products. However, the finish is more dewy for me and not remotely matte - so I advise testing first to ensure you like how it responds when it warms on your skin. BUT I actually love it and reminds me why I stopped using liquid foundation... But if you like a more matte finish or need/prefer coverage then be prepared to build up/re-apply touch up's and powder. The finish leaves my skin looking youthful, plumper and kind on fine lines without creasing due to the slightly aforementioned dewy finish on me. A clever product with a unique finish and fingers crossed it lasts as long as a standard foundation bottle.

Great Match and Natural Look!
16 January 2020

I don't wear a lot of makeup, but have noticed some aging and under eye circles that I wanted to find something to "fix" without looking painted or covering my freckles. I visited a MAC store near my hotel in Vegas and discussed my concerns with an artist (Gregory) who recommended this foundation stick to spot conceal and I love it! It's a perfect match for my fair skin, blends so easily so I don't have to cover my whole face with it (just my red areas and my dark circles) and it even blurs my pores while allowing my freckles to shine through. My husband prefers no makeup, and this makes us both happy by covering my problem spots while not looking "all made up." I agree with other reviewers that it can look a little dry, but Gregory gave me a good tip about spritzing my brush with some setting spray for when I blend and that works great for me! Also have no problem with it lasting all day (or longer). I even forgot to remove my makeup after our late flight home, and my makeup still looked perfect the next morning! My only concern is that the 13 is as light as it goes. My daughter is SO much lighter than me, so I'm hoping that by the time she's old enough to start using makeup there will be more options for her very porcelain skin.

Very Disapointed that this product is "MAC"
9 September 2019

Firstly I would like to say I love MAC and have been a full face MAC user for over 8 years - a long time. I previously used Napoleon for about 6 months. The Napoleon product I used was their foundation stick and for the exact reasons I DISLIKE this product is the exact same reasons why I DISLIKE this new MAC product. It's heavy cakey feeling, not very good coverage, It separates, it doesn't spread easy, it runs off (not a good gym or summer foundation), it's not long-lasting - you touch it and it comes off, it does not set on your face it just feels wet all day, it's drying of your face. This list could go on. I switched to this foundation as I was previously using studio fix Pro-long wear and they have obviously got rid of it. What happened to consistency with shades
5 July 2021

I have been a MAC customer for decades. And the best thing was that if you found your shade this will be consistent between products. This is not the case anymore. NC20 is completely different from one product to another. Now it is impossible to find my shade across the line. I bought two of them and neither were a good match. This product is being discontinued, but this has happened to me when I bought the studio tech cream to powder foundation a few months ago. Unfortunately I was not able to return the sticks because as these are being discontinued, they were on sale. What happened to your eyeshadow color range? It is gone!
