I also disagree with people saying that it’s drying, it's not hydrating either but it feels like a regular lipstick. If you don't want to feel the makeup on your face better wear a bb cream and some tinted lip balm instead of a matte lipstick.I love it and I'm planning to purchase some more shades in the future.

I'm an absolute lipstick HATER. I normally refuse to wear it and I can't stand dealing with it, but this is the only kind I can tolerate and actually enjoy wearing. For background, I'm a very pale redhead and I bought the color "Honeylove". I absolutely love the formula of this lipstick, but the color does not match the swatch online at all. This color pulls very dark on me; I was thinking it would be a light, nude-pink.If the color matched, this lipstick would be a perfect 5/5. Just be aware that the color may be slightly off if you're fair skinned.

I love this lipstick so much! M•A•C is known for their iconic lipsticks, but they seriously deserve the hype. I use the shade Honeylove every day and recommend it to so many people. Such a gorgeous shade - a gorgeous nude with the perfect blend of neutral, pink, and peach tones, which makes it beautiful on so many undertones. the matte factor of the lipstick is also great- it has no shine but still feels hydrating and creamy. It also stays on pretty long for a cream lipstick that doesn't dry down. It's also gorgeous with glosses. All these lipstick shades are stunning, but I had toshout out my all time fave.

I'll Always Stand by RubyWoo

I was a dancer in high school & to stay uniformed the whole team wore Ruby Woo. I've continued to use it ever since whenever red lipstick is needed! I'm on a performance spirit team for my college now, we have a game tonight & I'll be wearing Ruby Woo for it!My pros & cons overlap on some of the same features. Whenever I know I'll be wearing lipstick, I try to always apply chapstick or a small amount of lipgloss in preparation so my lips are moisturized & a bit damp. It makes it easier to apply lip liner &/or lipstick. The formula is smooth & creamy but it could definitely be smoother & creamier. If I don't pre moisturize my lips the lipstick itself won't help to add moisture, apply as evenly, or go on as smoothly. It'll just crack, peel, & cake.It lasts ... MoreI was a dancer in high school & to stay uniformed the whole team wore Ruby Woo. I've continued to use it ever since whenever red lipstick is needed! I personally only use it whenever we have a game which usually last about 2 hours, unless we have a doubleheader. It's fine for that time duration but I wouldn't say it lasts all day unless you don't eat or drink a lot. It'll crack, peel, & fade & if you need to reapply it'll cake up. I think it'd be best to just clean the first application entirely & apply a whole new lip!

My Forever Favorite!
24 November 2022

MAC lipsticks have always been amazing! Mehr is my go-to, my absolute forever favorite colour. It is perfect for my skin colour and looks very natural. It doesn't easily smudge or mess up when I eat, especially if I've applied lip liner before applying lipstick (I recommend MAC Soar lip liner). These lipsticks' pigmentation is so long-lasting and their quality is one of the best I've ever used. Whether it's the matte, satin, or amplified type, I've always loved them. Worth every penny. I also recommend getting the mini to keep in smaller bags everywhere you go.

Now understand the icon status....
29 March 2023

After years of knowing about this lipstick and reading reviews, I still thought that it was not possible to have a universal red shade and dismissed it for probably being to bright or pink. Then when I saw it on sale, I just thought 'what the hey, let's see'. Upon putting it on, it was much smoother that expected (some reviews state how rough it is to glide but I didnt think so). Also, after applying 2 coats, i was like 'Arrrhhh, I understand now'. Absolutely lovely red lipstick and looks great. And while it is not as moisturising as the normal matt lipsticks, I do not find it too dry and uncomfortable at all (maybe as I'm used to liquid lipsticks) and the staying power is good. So overall, I am converted. I now understand the iconic status and am happy to have it ... MoreAfter years of knowing about this lipstick and reading reviews, I still thought that it was not possible to have a universal red shade and dismissed it for probably being to bright or pink. Then when I saw it on sale, I just thought 'what the hey, let's see'. The Red Lipstick Every Red Lipstick Hopes to Be
21 April 2021

Seriously, every time I've loved a red lipstick I saw someone wearing in person, online, or in print, it was almost always Ruby Woo. This lipstick has been on my wishlist forever but I kept putting it off because I always wear liquid lipsticks and have become accustomed to them. I'm so grateful Mac sent me this lipstick! I can now truly understand the hype! First, the shade of red is gorgeous, not too warm or bright, or too deep or cool- I feel like it's both in the middle of that spectrum yet at time especially on my lips, encompasses both characteristics at times. There's something so alluring and sexy about Ruby Woo and what it does to your lips. The formula is matte but feels like a powder/powder kiss finish on your lips- so weightless and effortless. This is such a pleasure for red lipsticks which are notorious for getting on your teeth and being obvious when it's smeared or smudged. The formula alone is amazing but I believe this shade would look lovely on every skin tone as well! Plus, it can easily be adjusted with a lipliner to your liking. I don't wear many lipsticks because liquid lipsticks are my jam, but Ruby Woo is an exception. You get this beautiful, almost stained-like, velvety pouty lips! Already this is my holy grail go-to red lipstick! I've never seen anyone not able to pull of this lipstick. You have to give Ruby Woo a try at the very least to see what you're missing!

What Happened?
11 September 2022

I've been wearing this MAC Ruby Woo iconic true red matt for many years. I've noticed the last two tubs are totally not the same as the tubes I've purchased in the past....too much 'pink' in the color, not a 'True Red.' Then I Google and see that Dec 21 there's a post talking about the iconic Ruby Woo Red now in three different formulations. Not good MAC. Something has definitely changed with the true red color since then. Disappointing after all these years. I'm for sure now on the lookout for a good matt true red to take its place. I'm a firm believer in why change something that's not broken. You Ruby Woo fans, out there...buyer beware.

I've been using this color for as long as it has been available in Denver. I'm guessing close to eighteen - twenty years now? A friend of mine turned me onto it since she knew I love a good matte lip that isn't going to end up on my clothing. I live in a dry climate and my lips never feel dry cracked or patched when wearing this lipstick. It doesn't ever crumble or peel, it won't wear off on my partner if I give them a quick peck on the cheek. This lipstick looks vibrant, lasts a long time. A little goes a long way with ole Ruby Woo. I usually do not have to reapply the color after eating unless I've had something a bit on the greasy side which is understandable. The matte lipsticks that MAC offers won't end up on your teeth and gums. No embarrassing moments to be had. Oh I almost forgot to mention, with the right lip liner, this is highly blendable to create some amazing depth to your lips. All bets are off if you decide to gloss this lipstick though, it'll look amazing but as anyone knows, with gloss comes a mess. One thing though, if you get this on your clothing, you'll wanna use some oxy or dish soap to get it out and cool water. That's really all you need.If you are looking for an all day wear matte lipstick that is versatile, won't dry you out, or transfer to your teeth and mask, this is what you want to try out. It gets my highest recommendation and I think my review reflects why I've been using it for so long. Thanks MAC for creating a girls best friend in the shade of Ruby Woo! She's the boldest of them all.

I'm in love with this stunning neon-pink/fuchsia lippie by MAC. I start with MAC's Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in 'Fashion Boost' (was a limited edition) and then Flat Out Fabulous for a bold neon look. It's a pretty matte lipstick so expect a degree of drying if you don't use a lip exfoliator and lip balm beforehand. This one doesn't tug, has no glitter or shimmer and the staying power is awesome - I can get 6+ hours from this which is more than most lipsticks I own! The texture is very light and yet very pigmented - just one light swipe is all I need and I'm set. The nearest shade I've owned to this (and an excellent dupe if you can still get your hands on it) is L’Oreal Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick in Glamor Fuchsia, it's literally identical to FOF but not quite ... MoreI'm in love with this stunning neon-pink/fuchsia lippie by MAC. However I haven't seen it in stores for ages and online increasingly difficult to find too. For me it was a blessing in disguise... it's only because I ran out of L'Oreal that I went out and purchased Mac's as a substitute. Well, it's sure ticked all the boxes and then some!
