First time purchase and very disappointed. I bought the studio fix foundation and lip balm on 11 Dec. There was advertisement that said free lipstick with any purchase. I also confirmed this with the customer service chat before I purchased on that day. However I didn’t receive the lipstick as promised and instead I received mini cleansing oil. When I asked the customer service I was told that there was no stock anymore for the lipstick but the thing is I bought it on 11 Dec and I still saw that advertisement on 12 Dec. It is not about the lipstick but more on the professionalism on the business. I don’t know if anyone got the free lipstick when they bought on 12.12. If there is no stock anymore they shouldn’t advertise that to attract people to buy. Really disappointed!

I have been using MAC Studio Fix powder foundation since the mid-90s. This has to be at least my 20th compact. I have been color matched at the MAC counter and wear the shade NW10. I am pale with porcelain pink "cool" skin undertones. I have light blonde hair and green eyes. I love Studio Fix for those "no makeup" makeup days. I can apply it with a large powder brush for a light sheer application, or use the included sponge to touch up and go a bit heavier. The pressed powder compact is light and easy to to toss in my purse and go. I have normal-to-oily skin (more oily in my T-Zone) and wearing a primer and UD's setting spray helps keep Studio Fix firmly in place. It will last on me up to 8-10 hours. Now that I'm in New England, I also appreciate that it doesn't dry my skin out in the winter months. It reduces pore size and doesn't cause blemishes - win-win!

The powder is fine after I went to Ulta after my original purchase to experiment with different shades on my own. The first girl at Mac counter rushed me out so fast! It was strange lolShe seemed in a hurry to eyeball my shade in 10 seconds, then declare she was amazing for getting it right immediately every time lol. It was warm level 5, and I’m Irish with green eyes and freckles. Haha. I’ve never been close to the decades I’ve used mac products. I went back to exchange the next day with another sales associate who had freckles and green eyes and used the same shade I’d decided would be right for me.I worked at Macys south coast in makeup before I had kids & I knew she was matching the powder with my bronzer which isn’t right lolAnyway, it ended up fine and the ... MoreThe powder is fine after I went to Ulta after my original purchase to experiment with different shades on my own. I have a normal to dry skin and was using Studio Fix liquid foundation in shade NC38 (matched in store) since a very long time and wanted to try out something more convenient and on the go kind of foundation.I went for NC 35 as NC 38 was darker and orangish on my skin ( and oxidizes a LOT!!). This is a perfect match! And I love the coverage (medium to buildable), it manages to cover my acne hyperpigmentation beautifully. My skin looks flawless without any heaviness. Only con I see is the staying power - my already dry face turns shiny at T-zone in a couple of hours and looks patchy. Needs blotting or reapplication but I'm good with it as it still looks great! I find the convenience of using a compact foundation really tempting!!One star off for the packaging! ... MoreI have a normal to dry skin and was using Studio Fix liquid foundation in shade NC38 (matched in store) since a very long time and wanted to try out something more convenient and on the go kind of foundation.I went for NC 35 as NC 38 was darker and orangish on my skin ( and oxidizes a LOT!!). I love this. NC20 is the perfect undertone for me. Not too gold or yellow. Go up a shade from studio fix fluid because it runs light. It looks two shades too light in pan but it deepens a bit on the skin. In studio fix fluid I'm NC 15 (a drop of blue adjuster mixed in and it's perfect) but the powder matches me better. It's unlike any other powder foundation in that it's neither oily nor drying, long lasting, comfortable, doesn't break me out, gives great coverage. If I want to create a flawless "no makeup" makeup I can use this with a soft dense brush and buff into the skin, building on areas needing extra coverage. fix+ on top and it's undetectable - like second skin. (definitely exfoliate + cleanse prior to using though. Skincare should be light and fully absorbed for the best result or on bare skin. You add moisture back at the end with the fix+ anyway. The mattifine primer is great with this too bc it removes any leftover surface moisture while adding skincare and no pilling. I'll usually use a light moisturizer and/or Korean sunscreen that leaves no residue and use mattifine on my t zone, sides of the nose. Most skincare will work fine anyway just give enough time to dry down) SF powder is also a great pigmented nude eyeshadow for blending shades out, concealing lids, fixing mistakes. It can be used for bronzer, contour, brightener. The fluffier the brush you use the lighter the coverage (requires a lot of building to get medium to full) and the opposite for a dense brush. Dense brushes are ideal imo (like a kabuki style for face and packing brush for lids. ) it still takes a lot of layers to look cakey, but it builds coverage fast and smoothes out product as you blend. There's a sponge included that gives coverage QUICKLY. Using a sponge and Fix+ still gives a good finish but it looks more makeupy and not as great on texture. I find myself grabbing this powder every time I do makeup.

Still find the shade selections confusing
6 May 2024

I've been using this foundation in NC15-NC20 (depending on season) for years. I have a very neutral skin tone so finding the right shade has always been a challenge but I love the texture of this and it has been a good enough match, with addition of blush and contour. Recently my skin has been oilier and I found when it starts to come off it looks quite yellow compared to my natural skin tone, so I've been wanting to find a more neutral shade equivalent to try and thinking of ordering the lightest N shade. ONLY to find upon more reading and looking at reviews that actually, N3 is more PINK than NW rather than being more neutral. Make it make sense. From my reading it appears that NW15 would be the most neutral toned version of this foundation. Studio Fix - Fix for Life!

I have been using this product since I was 15 and ten years later, it is still my go to foundation. It is absolutely a great daily wear for work or brunch (really any occasion) with decent, buildable coverage!Love that it comes with a sponge and a mirror too which provides an easy access for touch ups whilst on the way to your destination or quick bathroom touch ups - amazing compact product for travel too - without having to carry a whole foundation bottle and separate brushes for application. Mine have travelled through out Asia with me and lasted so well in the hot and humid weather, along with being great for the beaches or pools (does not melt off!!)Additionally, I have used this in combination with a concealer too for parties or bigger/ more important events ... MoreI have been using this product since I was 15 and ten years later, it is still my go to foundation. The powder is quite fine and smooth to apply and does not cause crease lines as some heavy foundations can. This also means it can be worn for long work or outdoor days without constantly needing to worry!

This Makeup Caused Bumps and Textural Changes to My Forehead
2 May 2024

I loved this powder makeup when I first purchased it. Soon after, I started noticing that I was getting a weird non itchy rash on my forehead. The skin texture changed and my forehead stopped looking smooth. I also had a circle of tiny bumps primarily on the center of my forehead. I initially attributed it to a medication I was taking. I kept applying the makeup in an attempt to blur the bumps and weird texture. My dermatologist prescribed multiple steroid creams, but nothing worked. The rash would clear and then come back. I finally figured out that it would come back after applying the studio fix makeup. I am now a full two weeks without the makeup and my forehead is finally bump free and the texture is normal again. Tried to love it

I used to use the perfectly real powder foundation from clinique that was absolutley perfect until they discontinued it. That left me looking for a powder that was either just as good or better. Unfortunately this one did not work and i dont get all of the good reviews. I have combo skin so powders are usually better, especially if you use a tinted moisturizer and then set with this. But i was wrong and i tried for months with this powder but it just goes on too matte and makes you look flat, then the powder gets on your clothes, and soon after it starts to crease and run in florida humidity. I cant wear it for more than a couple of hours without it going bad. Literally i might as well go out bare faced as even that would be better than oily creasing foundation ... MoreI used to use the perfectly real powder foundation from clinique that was absolutley perfect until they discontinued it. This makes me look like my face is so extremely oily when i have combo skin. In literally just an hour outside if you scratch your face, EVEN GENTLY, the makeup will be all over your nails. I even would try touching it up throughout the day but it just ends up being a mess of gooey powder and cakey-ness. It would be better to remove the powder and just redo all of your makeup. I also tried using blotting sheets with it but was no use as the powder would wipe off when that does not happen with other brands. Not to mention i have to blot multiple times. Overall i will not buy this again and if you want to take your chances, good luck.
