I'll start out by clarifying that when I say mid-level, I mean that it isn't completely upgraded but it isn't the entry level 15 inch MacBook Pro. I had a Mid-2011 Retina MacBook Pro that was holding up for a while until one night my logic board decided to go out. The screen is amazing, the keyboard isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be but it did take some getting used to. The touch panel is a great addition especially since you can change what buttons are displayed. The only downfall to me is the amount of hard drive space, but that can easily be remedied with an external drive and they have some amazing deals on SSD external drives with USB C. All in all, its been a great laptop so far.

I've been around mac my entire life since the Mac G3. These computers get better and better each time, especially this one. The quality on the retina screen is amazing! the computer itself is not heavy for being on the larger side comparing to today's standards. battery life is great, I work from it and I always have to use a platform software along with 4-7 tabs open constantly while running 3 monitors and I can say this computer runs it like if it's just a text document. the touch bar is extremely useful, though I was not a huge fan of it before owning it, but now i see it's full potential use and it's a time saver. The keyboard feels great, it just takes a little to get used to the small key travel compared to older MacBooks and/or desktop's keyboards. This was my first Mac book purchase and honestly I have no idea what took me so long! I did my research prior to buying visiting a couple different Apple stores and ultimately buying from Best Buy because of an awesome sale and a 0% financing offer. I have no regrets! Once you get used to it (if you have an iPad Pro it is an easy adjustment from other brands) you will seriously think what took me so long. It only gets 4 stars because it is a little annoying you have to purchase an attachment to creat a USB port for phone charging. I also had to purchase an external SD card reader but I had to do that for my Dell work laptop as well so it didn’t bother me too much.
