I'm in school so I can't just wait for apple to fix my laptop and when I found out the price, I decided it was time for a new one. The only downfall to me is the amount of hard drive space, but that can easily be remedied with an external drive and they have some amazing deals on SSD external drives with USB C. All in all, its been a great laptop so far.

The quality on the retina screen is amazing! the computer itself is not heavy for being on the larger side comparing to today's standards. battery life is great, I work from it and I always have to use a platform software along with 4-7 tabs open constantly while running 3 monitors and I can say this computer runs it like if it's just a text document. the touch bar is extremely useful, though I was not a huge fan of it before owning it, but now i see it's full potential use and it's a time saver. This would be a 5 star if it wasn't that Apple decided to make all the components on-board rather than slots.

This was my first Mac book purchase and honestly I have no idea what took me so long! I did my research prior to buying visiting a couple different Apple stores and ultimately buying from Best Buy because of an awesome sale and a 0% financing offer. I have no regrets! Once you get used to it (if you have an iPad Pro it is an easy adjustment from other brands) you will seriously think what took me so long. It only gets 4 stars because it is a little annoying you have to purchase an attachment to creat a USB port for phone charging. I also had to purchase an external SD card reader but I had to do that for my Dell work laptop as well so it didn’t bother me too much. Just annoying to use a jump drive you have to purchase this attachment when it really should come ... MoreThis was my first Mac book purchase and honestly I have no idea what took me so long! We operate off of Google docs programs so i did not have to purchase Microsoft word or anything like that but I think that purchase if you need it is pretty much standard with all lap tops (and maybe even desk tops) these days.

Good but never cheap.
11 November 2021

Build quality and power is never in doubt but still a bonkers price when buying new as with most high end Apple products. Mine was bought used in immaculate condition. That is how I achieved the best bang for buck with this particular model. Don't quite see the point of the Touch Bar yet. Takes longer for example to increase or decrease audio volume or screen brightness compared to having the dedicated up and down buttons already on the keyboard. Perhaps in time its benefit will become apparent.

Great laptop
15 April 2023

Having never bought a laptop, much less a used one, I was skeptical. I knew there was no way I was affording a new one, and this site came with pretty good reviews and a 30 day return policy. I had some specific needs for recording music, and it took me a bit to find what I thought was the best for the application. I've had this for a couple weeks now, and have zero complaints. It's screaming fast, has lots of memory, and everything works as it should. There's a couple scuff marks on the outside but the screen is crystal clear and the keyboard is perfect. The touch pad is perfect. I will never spend three grand on a new one of these for sure, now knowing that a refurbished one works just as well for a quarter of the price.

Nice machine, but...
20 July 2019

I like very much the machine, like other Apple products it is nice, and the packaging is great. Ive used it a little and cant do a full review. But I can say some things about the design decisions. I dont like the physical conectivity of the machine. Find fast a reliable usb and network dongle was a nightmare because there are very few with a good reviews by the buyers, all had critics about fails and inestability. Included those are Apple branded. I also bought an Iphone and is very hard to explain why I cant plug it in my new and expensive mabook without an adapter. The same I can say about the phone, why I cant connect my very nice old standard headphones without a new cable that y should buy together with a beatiful usb C lighting cable and a stupid usb C flash ... MoreI like very much the machine, like other Apple products it is nice, and the packaging is great. Not quite the MacBook Pro I’d hoped for.

First of all, the Mac OS is a premium computer software which is what makes the MacBook Pros appealing computers. The ease of navigating and using the software/applications is 5/5. Build quality is 5/5 but with one minor flaw, the chassis which is too thin and therefore heats up way too easily leaving the potential and power of this MacBook Pro untapped in my opinion. These new MacBook Pros are unable to reach their full potential. The new keyboards in these 2019 MacBook Pros have worked flawlessly so far and actually feel good when typing and the touchpad is great for me. Only time will tell if these new MacBook Pros hold up but in my opinion these do fall short of the Pro in the title as the laptop does fail to cool down when running intensive power applications.

Simplified - but overly so?
7 August 2019

I've been a long time user and fan of the MacBook Pro. My first MacBook purchase was a 2009 model that only recently kicked the bucket late last year. So no question, the build quality on these machines is unmatched. I love the design and over all look and feel of the laptop, but I wonder, did Apple consider who might be using this machine when they built it? For me, using a powerful, mobile product for my video and motion graphics needs was a must, but now with Apple's slim line appearance there is apparently no room to fit in the things I typically would need to preform my job. I'm stuck with purchasing aftermarket peripherals that don't always work well and can become expensive and lots of cables/space needed to have these items. I see no reason why Apple can't include a much larger hard drive and a simple way to integrate file transfers from pc/Mac without having to go third party. Overall I'm happy with the product, I just feel there could have been more thought to the end user.

Worth it
15 November 2019

I've owned Macbooks for the last 10 years or so, but this is my first Macbook Pro. I needed it for work, especially because I use more than one creative suite program at a time. This laptop has been able to handle it all with ease, whereas my MacAir would struggle and freeze and shut down programs after a certain amount of time. It's definitely worth it if you're someone who needs more space and RAM, and the retina display is amazing. I personally like the keyboard as well, I know I've heard some complaints... but I prefer this to the MacAir keyboard. It makes less noise, but you do have to put slightly more pressure on the keys. The touchbar feature is kind of unnecessary, but it doesn't hinder me from doing anything. The touchbar feature is kind of unnecessary, but it doesn't hinder me from doing anything. I wouldn't buy this just for regular use, but it's definitely worth it if you need a more powerful machine to handle heavy programs! I've run three creative suits programs at once (Illustrator, Photoshop and Lightroom), and it was completely fine. I'm really glad I made this investment!
