Using it for rehearsal, but also planing to use it for live gigs. Good mic pre-amps. Great plus that it also has built in compressos and 3+1 AUX outs. Digital channels are great for recording and software is also included for mixing.

Bought to use in home studio with 16 track HD recorder, seems ideal for purpose. (Not much else out there with this spec.) Built in pre set effects are good, although can't fine tune the parameters e.g. reverb/ repeat delay times etc. as with stand alone FX units, but still a good feature. Good compact design, with all the necessary eq. and aux sends / returns. Would recommend.

I own the profx12 v2 so I was familiar with these mixers already. The profx 22 v3 is a huge improvement on the already awesome platform. More xlr channels, a new built in compressor on the first 12 channels, bussing options, more monitor outputs, independent aux input for backing tracks, built in preamp is a lot more powerful than the previous version, our sample pad no longer needs to amp the signal before going into the board... these are just a few of the new options that I love off the top of my head. Highly recommend!!

I had already owned the smaller version of the mackie profx, now that I own the profx22 its just much better for the studio setting I have.
Overall:Really nice sounding mixer. The Mackie preamps and EQ are really good. I do wish it had an EQ in/out option for doing A/B comparisons, for doing before EQ and after comparisons. It has lots of inserts for patching in outboard gear-that was a huge selling point for me. The compressors are a nice option and are very smooth. The effects are really nice sounding.
Great mixer! I have the bigger brother to this model, but needed something more compact to take to small gigs %26 what not. Fits nicely in my bag %26 sounds great!
This is my 4th Mackie mixer in almost 20 years - all still in service. It's getting harder to find a good all-inclusive live analog mixer, but this one is as close as I could find. 17 XLRs should be enough for just about any 4 or 5 piece band, and compression per channel is a nice addition for vocalists who are... new at mic technique. On-board effects definitely help keep a compact and clean set up. I'm mobile and work mostly outside at community events and with non-profit groups, so efficiency in time and space is highly valued. The only things more I'd ask from a live mixer is a talkback mic (for which Ch. 17 will be dedicated and just sent through the aux, which works but steals an XLR), and an RCA line in for house fill on the break switch (I know many ... MoreThis is my 4th Mackie mixer in almost 20 years - all still in service. I still use cd players and an old smartphone as an mp3 player.) A 4th aux channel would be nice for monitors, but not a necessity as this board is mostly to work with smaller bands and stages. And as always, B&H was exceptional, and this is a great package deal they offer.
This mixer is a pick your least intrusive effects deal. Its always on no way to pick dry signal only. Even if you turn down the effects knob in the individual channel the output drops with it. I guess just pick the best sounding effect? The issue it colors the sound way too much. Mackie gear usually top notch but this design flaw is too much. That aside its a beefy well made mixer with plenty of channels for the money.
Purchased this to donate to church facility. They had an old Mackie CFX12 12 channel mixer that had some channels that were not working. Also 12 channels were just not enough. This mixer takes us up to 22 channels so we don't have to keep switching cables. It has 3 Aux outputs instead of just 2 on the old one. This third Aux output was sorely needed. Setup and use were very easy. The users guide (a download from Mackie website) had adequate information and was easy to understand. Sound quality is great. It connects to and handles all the instruments and vocal mics we are using without issue. There is a USB input/output channel with is especially great if you need mixer output to use for a stream. We don't use any of the FX but I did try them out during initial ... MorePurchased this to donate to church facility. The only thing I wish it had is built in Bluetooth as an input channel so we can use other various devices for audio if needed. But that is a minor thing since there are so many affordable good quality Bluetooth adapters available.Very, very happy and satisfied with this product.
I feel very happy with this mixer great faders look amazing this is my second mixer the first mixer is 6 channels and working great too
