Great value and taste. The Macro Classic Tofu Regular is a great value block of tofu. The tofu is made with 99% Australian ingredients (Water, Soybeans (26%) & Calcium Sulphate) and gets a 4* health rating. A 500 gram block is meant to make 4 serves, with each serve containing approx 6. 9 grams of protein. I buy tofu quite regularly and have learned over time that "slightly firm" usually means still pretty soft, not just for the Woolworths brand, but in general. Therefore, I was expecting the tofu to be soft, and it was. I can imagine that this isn't what you expect when you buy it for the first time and you think you have chosen a firm tofu. I found the packaging appealing but a little difficult to open without spilling any of the water. As I prefer a firmer tofu ... MoreGreat value and taste. As I prefer a firmer tofu to cook with, I decided to experiment and turn this block into a tofu smoothie bowl! I blended the tofu with a frozen banana, chia seed, blueberries and a bit of vanilla extract and it turned out delicious. I will actually be buying it again for this purpose!Overall, I would definitely recommend this product, as long as you're aware that it's quite soft.

Very good value. Great product I always buy the larger pack. I cook mapo tofu which is minced meat stir fried with garlic and onions then put mapo sauce ( which is a bit spicy) I believe some woolies also sell these depending on your location and then you put the soft tofu. On this occasion i had to buy two packs as this pack was quite small. Great product but make sure you cook and eat as soon as you buy as they dont stay fresh for very long in the fridge. Maybe 2 days max. Thank you woolies i always buy this big pack one!

Silky, smooth tofu. The neutral flavour of this tofu allowed for the usage in sweet or savoury dishes, I especially enjoyed making a sweet chocolate pudding with it. The texture was smooth and silky but despite it being delicate, it held its shape in a stew too. I thought that the block size was useful and the packaging was easy to open. Being made in Australia from a high percentage of Australian ingredients, it was priced at a good price. I would purchase again for the versatility of it.

Bland as I expected tofu to be. Have never bought or cooked tofu before but wanted to try this as a way of introducing soy into my child’s diet. The different types of tofu available confused me as to which one I should buy. I ended up going for this slightly firm, classic tofu as it was unflavoured. Some of the flavoured tofu had a multitude of ingredients listed which I wasn’t happy to give my child. Even this one contained a firming agent (Calcium Sulphate) which may be required for the process of making tofu? ‍♀️The packaging suggested that this tofu has a firmness rating of 2 out of 4. I am not sure what the different firmnesses would be more suited to. I am not sure what the different firmnesses would be more suited to. I was also surprised to read on the storage instructions that the water needs to be changed every 2 days and use it within 3 days. It’s all new to me!Googled how to prepare tofu in a nice enough dish for an infant. Decided to make a tofu noodle dish with capsicum and pineapple. First cut tofu into small chunks and then fried them in some pineapple juice as well as soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce. After sauces had thickened set aside the tofu, prepared the rest of the ingredients before adding the tofu back into the dish. On its own the tofu was still quite bland even though it was coated in the sauces. It had a firm yet soft consistency but did not break apart easily. I wasn’t a big fan of this tofu but I have read that the pre-flavoured macro tofu in the range do taste quite good. For all I know, this is what this tofu is meant to taste like. Made in Australia from atleast 99% Australian ingredients 4 star heath rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️No artificial flavours, colours or preservatives The serving suggestion image on the packaging was inviting and the written suggestion of “great for stir fry dishes” was positive in that that was how we used it!Cooking instructions stated “pan fry before adding to your dish”. I’m unlikely to purchase this again but that is only because we don’t routinely cook tofu.

Classic Tofu. Thumbs up for introducing more Asian cuisine ingredients such as Tofu. The bean curd is widely considered an integral part of authentic Chinese cuisine and various other Asian dishes. It can also be a good source of nutrients for vegetarian as it is made of mashed soybeans. Ideally the product should not be too firm, it needs to be soft, silken tofu, practically pudding-like, with just enough resistance that it can be picked up with a chopstick or fork / spoon without turning to mush. The price could be lower to be more affordable, so that more children can benefit from this good fibre.

Love this TOFU. Not hard and not too soft. This tofu was fantastic for warming through my cooked Cauliflower and Tofu Curry. If you're looking for the recipe. I got it out of the 2022 e-book. It was very delicious and I like to think the tofu is similar to cheese once warmed through. It was especially delicious with all the spices. ***I forgot to take a picture of my purchased Macro Tofu Packet. Good quality softer tofu. PRODUCT: Good quality softer tofu. I used it in a broccoli and tofu pie - it broke down easily with a fork which was helpful to bind the filling ingredients. However, I prefer a firm tofu usually as it has go a more chewy texture and doesn't fall apart as easily. PACKAGING: Harder plastic base means the tofu doesn't break down in the packet. Suitable for the product. PURCHASE AGAIN? I wouldn't purchase this again regularly as I prefer firm tofu, however if I was after a softer tofu I would get this brand if available.

A classic and my all time favourite tofu! I love that it is neither too hard nor too soft. I usually divide it into three even serves after I open the package: one to consume on the day, the other two go into mini ziplocks and are then stored in the freezer. After freezing the texture of the tofu will change into something firmer but very different from firm tofu. So they won’t fall apart while stirring. I love to stir fry them with meaty dishes. They are soooooo tasty after soaking up with the meaty juices.

Yummmy! Will add to future shopping. I can confidently say that it offers a pleasant taste and satisfying texture. Its neutral flavour profile allows it to absorb accompanying flavour, making it versatile for various dishes. The tofu's firm texture holds up well during cooking, making it suitable for frying, grilling, and baking. I had used this tofu to make salt and pepper fried tofu and, it held its shape and was crispy and delicious! Would definitely buy again.

Love this Classic Tofu!! I buy this Macro Classic Tofu regularly and was happy to redeem a free one through Bunch! It's such a great product to use. Firstly, let me say, it is easy to get out of the packaging. Other tofu brands can be tricky to get out of package without the tofu actually breaking! Secondly, this classic tofu is smooth in texture yet keeps its shape well when cutting and cooking. I have used it in Asian style soup, simply cutting the tofu block into cubes and adding to chicken or vegetable stock with veg, noodles and seasonings. It cooks well maintaining shape in the soup. Another way I've used this tofu is cutting it into rectangular chunks, coating in cornflour and shallow frying in frypan, it's the protein in stirfry dishes.
