Best beans for my coffee machine. It takes time and money to find a good coffee bean to suit different coffee machines and your preferred taste. I use to buy Lavazza beans, Gloria Jeans then Aldi's brand beans for my Delonghi Auto machine but all still had a little bitter in taste even though Aldi's were voted by Choice for taste and value they made a very nice coffee for the price but as we found not all beans suit all machines. My son put us onto these Macro beans when we bought a new espresso manual machine with these beans you can actually taste that hint of dark chocolate and cinnamon. Superb taste and makes the best crema. Made in NZ. Just wish they were a little cheaper than $25 for 1kg as we go through the bag so fast which tells you these beans make a ... MoreBest beans for my coffee machine. Great rich coffee. I was pleasantly surprised when I received this sample as a birthday gift from the Bunch Team. I love that they knew I'd previously bought coffee beans so was really looking forward to trying it. If I'm honest I'd never normally pick up a dark coffee bean as I always think of them as being too strong in flavour. This was easy to find on the shelf and price point for a 1kg is fair considering other brands charge up to $45. The smell when you open the bag is Devine and I absolutely loved the taste of this bean, the machine I have is fully automatic so I just poured the beans in the back and let it work it's magic. I can't fault this and would definitely purchase this bag again.

Great smell and good taste. We regularly try different coffee beans for our machine. Have to say we are not fans of spending a fortune on coffee beans and we do find some of the reasonable priced beans to be very tasty and we love our coffee. These did not disappoint and I would buy them again. Love the smell of a freshly opened bag of coffee beans. Enjoyed the flavour and I would buy these again and would like to try some of the other flavours

Needs improvement. Nowhere on the packet does it state the beans are fresh - so no issue with advertising the product. They aren’t fresh. there is no roast date on the packet - this is a must. an expiry date of 12months? Fresh roasted beans are best used within 2-4 weeks of their roast date for freshness and flavour. when i opened the bag there wasnt that amazing smell of fresh coffee beans. It was subtle at best. Another indication of old beans. the beans are from NZ (packaged) so of course will never be fresh having to travel - probably why they don’t put the word “FRESH” anywhere on the packet as a description of the beans. grinding the beans brought a hint of coffee beans out of them. the smell once extracted was on the bitter side but again not much aroma. in ... MoreNeeds improvement. But there are better ones out there (not usually on the supermarket shelf - so these are the better supermarket ones I’ve tried).

Generic Coffee beans. Aroma: Burnt coffee smellTaste/flavour: just a generic coffee flavour, nothing interesting. Very bitter and burnt tastePackaging/instructions: Packaging was a pretty standard foil/plastic coffee bag. Some disappointing notes, it was resealable so once open I had to put the beans into another airtight container to try maintain so sort of freshness, it's not eligible for Redcycle recycling or compostable. Price: AUD $25 dollars for 1 kilo is very cheap for coffee beans, they are fair trade certified so I hope the coffee bean farmer is getting a fair price. Purchase again: No, flavour was too bland.

"You will Love this Coffee". I normally do not buy a Dark Roast for my espressor machine. I found the beans provided a beautiful crema with the tones of dark choclate and cinnamon coming through. It is such a suprising flavour. It says on the packaging a very fine grind for Expresso, but I found the coarser was much better to bring out the rich crema. It says on the packaging that it is made in New Zealand, I guess that the beans are roasted and blended in New Zealand as it is not really a coffee bean producer as it is to cold to grow them there. It is Organic grown which is a plus. I normally buy another well known brand when on "Special" @$15 per 1kg bag. I find the price of $25 per kilo of beans competitive with other brands but to expensive for me.

Great coffee. I don't have this type of coffee machine so I outsourced this one to my parents. Review by my mother she enjoyed it but couldn't convince my coffee snob brother to try it: If you are looking for a coffee with a strong aroma, strong taste with a bitter twist, then this is not for you. There is a sweet coffee aroma, smooth taste with a hint of spice. A good choice for mid morning and afternoon coffee break. Good value for money I would purchase this coffee.

Dark flavour. I thought these were ok. Coffee is such a personal thing ad I found the flavour of these a little too dark and bitter. I enjoy a full bodied coffee but unfortunately these weren’t really to my liking. They did produce a nice crema though.

Certified Fairtrade is a plus. This was on the bottom shelf, way at the back obscured by a couple of special tickets and really hard to find. I wouldn't have even noticed it if I wasn't on a mission to find my sample. For a dark roast, it's too mild and not rich enough. And it has a bitter edge to it that makes me reach for a little more sugar to sweeten it up. They are quality coffee beans but the flavour is not to my taste. I like a stronger cup of coffee. Hubby asked me what's going on with the coffee? He knew straight away it wasn't our regular one. I purchase beans on special for a lot less than this $25 bag so while I appreciate the generous sample, it won't be a repeat buy.

Strong & rich. I would normally buy medium beans to use in my machine at home. Having this offer allowed me to try the dark roast product which I enjoyed. There was a fabulous crema when processed as a short black and the flavour was much stronger than my normal choice but it was not bitter and I enjoyed the rich flavour. The colour of the espresso is definitely dark. I enjoyed this coffee it is about $5 more than the brand / kg that I usually buy but then it is organic where my usual brand is not. I enjoyed it and would choose to buy if I wanted a dark roast coffee as I have had the chance to try it. Sorry, I could not work out how to change the photo to vertical!
