Versatile and affordable. Tofu is a versatile source of protein for vegetarians and flexitarians like myself. This tofu has great texture and once marinated and fried or baked it works wonderfully for lots of curry or stir-fry dishes and of course in any bowl foods. I like to freeze it first, then defrost and drain well before marinating. This seems to work to allow the marinade to penetrate into the tofu to give the best flavour. The pack size and great price make this tofu a terrific bargain too. I will definitely be purchasing again and again in the future. I look forward to experimenting even more with it in the future.

Tasted Good. I wanted to make an eggplant recipe that used tofu as the protein. I'm not a fan of tofu so seriously thought I'd swap it out for haloumi. I decided to go the tofu option since it was marinated in sweet chilli sauce and soy. Totally surprised how good it tasted. But I must admit the tofu was not strong in flavour. It was very firm and had a really smooth texture to it. It absorbed the marinade really well and grilling was easy and the tofu held together really well. I have now converted to firm tofu as a protein option.

My favourite firm tofu. This is my firm tofu of choice. The consistency is perfect for frying. Cubed, lightly dusted in flour then shallow fried. Never crumbles or falls apart. I’ve also blitzed it in a smoothie and again it was perfect. I love that it’s 98% Australian ingredients and for me it’s also the perfect size. It’s also good value for money. I will continue to buy this.

Vegan favourite. Got this sample just in time for my vegan daughter's visit. She commented on how fresh and firm the tofu was, making it easy to slice them. A third of the tofu was cubed and added to the stir fried bean vermicelli with vegies. The rest was sliced then air fried and we had it with soy sauce/ lemon/ chilli/ garlic sauce, as an appetiser. Yum Except for the 5 star health rating, not sure though what makes this $1/kg more expensive than the other brand.
I was going to make a tofu joke... ... but that would be tasteless! baaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, oh yeah, not bad actually, anyhowFirst impressions - $3 is cheap, too cheap? I'm not sure, this is mostly Australian made, so I guess I shouldn't be worried, an impressive price point anyhowNext impressions - ah yes, but a few ingredients here to discuss. It certainly meets my under 5 criteria. Not sure about this last one though. What is Firming agent 511?Soybean Extract (99%)(Water, Soybean), Firming Agent (511)Final impressions - tastes like nothing! ha, well it is tofu. I'm not overly partial to it, but luckily I know someone who is a great cook and knows how to improve the flavour profile Hopefully you folks are similarly blessed, or can at least find a recipe ... MoreI was going to make a tofu joke... ... but that would be tasteless! baaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, oh yeah, not bad actually, anyhowFirst impressions - $3 is cheap, too cheap? Great all rounder tofu. This firm tofu is our go to for a cheap protein source. It's so versatile and I use it for many different dishes. It is firm enough to hold up well when sliced and fried or cubed into a stir fry. I also finely crumble it as a substitute for mince meat. Like most tofu, it doesn't really have any flavour, which I believe is a good trait for tofu to has as this allows it to soak up all the delicious flavours of the rest of the dish. I always have a block or two of this in the fridge to help make a quick, cheap dinner whenever needed.
Good Tofu. Macro Firm Tofu is a game-changer in the world of plant-based protein. Its firm texture and mild flavor make it perfect for a variety of dishes. Whether you're stir-frying, grilling, or adding it to soups and salads, this tofu delivers a satisfying bite. Packed with protein and essential nutrients, it supports a healthy diet. Try Macro Firm Tofu today and unlock a world of delicious possibilities. All in all I much prefer to get protein from animal sources (as it is superior) but if you enjoy tofu, this is a nice option.
Good quality tofu for a decent price. Texture: A lovely firm tofu, which does not crumble when cutting. Has a pleasant feel to it, not slimy like some other brands. Flavour: Good taste and absorbs any flavour you would like to add to it. Price: Value for money and the size of the portion is generous for the price. Versatile: Great for crumbing, deep or shallow frying and wonderful in a variety of dishes. Perfect for the vegan, vegetarian and even for the meat eaters in the family. Tofu is gluten-free and provides iron and calcium that is needed in our diets. Overall: I would recommend this tofu and I will be purchasing this again, again and again. lol :)
Brilliant. I didn't need to "try" these - I love it when Woolworths gives me product samples of items that I buy multiple of weekly. Tofu is always great to have on hand, there's so many things you can do with it but I always prefer to crumble it up, add a bit of water and turmeric and fry it, as an alternative to scrambled eggs. Add some soy sauce on some bread, and/or some garlic. Lovely. Another tofu bonus - anything you don't use can be put in water and if changed every couple of days, lasts up to a week. My only complaint is, what happened to the silken tofu you used to have in UHT cartons Woolworths?! that used to be a staple in my house to make a healthy vegan mayonnaise without all of the yucky oils, and it only took me minutes as it didn't require cooking. ... MoreBrilliant. Versatile - endless cooking and flavour opportunities! A regular purchase in our household - used in stir-fries, curries, crumbed into crispy 'fingers' or mashed into scrambled eggs. Given it is plain, it takes on a range of flavours whilst holding its shape. Great meat-free option, high in protein and dietary fibre - whilst low in salt. Easily located on the shelf, and a great price-point compared to market alternatives. Will keep purchasing!
