Loved this mix. I enjoyed the Macro 3 bean mix which includes Black, Pinto and Kidney Beans. They are found in the aisle with all the other canned bean varieties. Could do with a little improvement on the label, to me it didn't stand out and it was a little dull. Pull ring opening, which makes it easier. Five star health rating and a source of fibre and protein. I made mine into a bean salad with garlic and onion and served them with our bbq and they were delicious. Packed in Italy with beans from multiple origins, this is a bit disappointing. The can is recyclable. The price was more expensive because it is organic. The brand I usually buy is cheaper (not organic though) and this is the reason I wouldn't purchase this again. Thanks Bunch for giving me the ... MoreLoved this mix. Great protein addition. Flavour - No added salt in these beans so there's not much flavour. Which makes them perfect as an addition and you can flavour as you like. Texture - Not too hard or mushy. Liked that there were 3 different beans (Red Kidney Beans, Pinto Beans, Black Beans) for different textures. Price - $1, 50 for a can which is good value for a convenient add on to any meal. Serving - Made a one pot chicken and 3 bean stew and is a perfect serving for 4 people. Packaging - Easy to open, pull and peel can. There was a dent in my can though and the other cans were also a bit damaged. Overall, enjoyed these beans. Don't normally buy canned beans but will definitely add it to the pantry as it is a great addition to meals. Only one star off for packaging.

Firm and good. Located in the canned Veg aisle. $1. 50 for 420g tin. 5 star rating. ACO certified. Packed in Italy from multiple origins. Recycle can. Ingredients:Easy to open ring pull can. There was a lot of brown liquid in the can. This was drained off and added to mince for nachos. There was a good mix of beans in the can. I tried some beans straight from the can. The beans were firm and not mushy. The texture was dry and they did not have much taste. The remainder of the beans were added to mince for nachos. They did add flavour to the nachos. I most likely would not purchase due to now knowing the origin of where the beans come from. Thank you Bunch.

For those who like canned beans. It took me a while to use this as mixed beans are not something I usually buy. It is a while ago now, but after searching through the internet for recipes I ended up deciding upon a Bean and Vegetable soup as it was cold weather. Although I did enjoy the hearty soup, I don't think beans like these agree with me these days. I did like the fact that this can of bean mix has a 5 HSR and is not expensive. I did not like that it was not mentioned where the beans had originated though were packed in Italy. I will not buy, but it may be worth it for those who like to use mixed beans.
3 beans. Easy to locate in store, in the canned veg section next to the other Macro canned items. Packed in Italy, beans sourced from multiple locations. Would be nice to know where they were from, even better for them to be from Australia. Ingredients list is great, only the 3 beans, water and antioxidant. $1. 70 for the 420g can. Not bad, I'm always happy to pay a little extra for an organic product that doesn't have any preservatives and additives. Easy to open ring pull, and all recyclable, which is to be expected with cans these days. We used these beans to top baked potatos along with other toppings including beef bolognaise sauce, bacon, cheese, corn, diced beetroot and sour cream. I would probably purchase this when needed over other 3 bean mixes, although it wouldn't be a regular item on our shopping list each week.
Would prefer a small can. My hubby loves this in a salad. Woolworths Macro Organic range, as usual certified ACO organic and contains a 60% mix of beans which are made up of red kidney beans, pinto beans and black beans, water and the antioxidant ascorbic acid. Packed in Italy with beans from multiple regions. So not actually specified where the beans originate from or the percentage of what there is of each bean in the can (though to be fair that would probably be difficult and rather unnecessary information to provide us with). However I would love to see the machine that fills the cans to see if there is a set weight of each type of bean tipped into the cans during the automation process. Easy to read label, definitely can't miss it on the shelf as the font and colours used work well. No added salt. Once opened use within 3 days. Since I do not like kidney beans I don't eat this so a smaller can would be better for my husband otherwise it is a beanfest for a few days for him (not good if the wind is blowing in my direction). Note: antioxidant ascorbic acid as cropped up a few times in products so I thought I would check out exactly what it is. Ascorbic acid, a form of vitamin C something our bodies does not make on its own. We should take a small amount of Vitamin C in some form everyday to help our bodies fight free radicals. Ever wish that companies would list the ingredients on their products in layman's terms.
Versatile product at a reasonable cost. Firstly, I was surprised at how cheap this item was given it is organic. Good quality and taste wise they are just as you would expect from canned beans, no issues there at all. I will typically put mixed beans in a nacho style dish or top it with tinned tuna (jalapeno or a tomato based flavor) however for this product I decided to do something a little more hearty, and I ended up getting two decent meals out of it. I cooked up the following ingredients: 1 x tin of three bean mix1 x tin of diced tomatoes2 heaped teaspoons of smoked paprika1 diced onionHalf a cup of diced capsicum (I had the frozen prepped one from woolies on hand)seasoning to taste. Method:I fried up the onion and then added the paprika once the onion had ... MoreVersatile product at a reasonable cost. Firstly, I was surprised at how cheap this item was given it is organic. Seasoned to taste. For lunch I grilled some cheese and mixed herb on top and then made some smoked paprika tortilla chips to dip into the mix. For breakfast the following day I used the leftover base meal but included some fried chorizo and topped it with an egg and crusty sourdough on the side. I will purchase this again.
Hmmmm. Although I enjoyed these beans and the nice mix. I used mine in a bean salad. Nice and not mushy. Plain simple ingredients. Could be used in a. Number of ways. Although I didn’t mind them being canned in Italy what is irritating is the statement “from multiple origins” I want to know where exactly the product is grown and farmed rather than some vague statement. This alone would put me off a future purchase. I would rather buy beans 100% grown in Australia.
Good Colourful Bean Mix. There are so many different beans available, the macro organic range covered several shelves in the tinned vegetables aisle. The label has the name presented on a 'plant tag' stuck into a pile of the bean mix. Opening the ring pull reveals a murky brown soup. After draining I could see a few were split but still firm. Includes Red kidney, Pinto and Black beans. We rinsed the beans and added to already browned mince and mushrooms with spices to make a chilli con carne. Even after warming up they stayed firm. They don't really have a noticeable flavour, just good for adding fibre and healthiness to the meal. Didn't seem mushy or floury. Something Different. Our family loves chilli con carne, so we buy red kidney beans often, but I have never tried this three bean mix before, so was interested in giving them a go. I thought I could add them to the chilli, along with my red kidney bean sample. Initially the staff member did have to help me and handed me the 'normal' three bean mix, not Macro. When I went back to collect the correct sample, I found it easily this time in the tinned vegetable section with the other tinned beans - on the bottle shelf though. At $1. 50 for the 425 gram tin, they were okay value. They are almost twice the price of the regular Woolworths three bean mix for the same size, so not sure if macro organic is worth this much more. With the ring pull lid, the tin was easy to open ... MoreSomething Different. With the ring pull lid, the tin was easy to open and then drain, and the three different beans are all a good size. I like to cook my chilli for quite a while, bubbling away, and most of the beans stayed together well. Some of the smaller variety did break down, but this added some good texture to the chilli. The beans went well with the chilli and tasted really good. 1/2 cup of these beans equals one serve of vegetables, so a different way to add health vegetables to the daily intake. Certified organic, no added salt, 5 star health rating. Source of fibre and protein. Produced in Italy with beans from multiple origins. The tin is recyclable. I would buy again. Thanks so much for the opportunity to try.
