Bland. I bought these beans mainly for the low sodium content (my toddler likes baked beans) and to try something new. The price was also attractive and a bit cheaper than other brands. The appearance was a lighter shade of red compared to other baked beans that I’ve tried. They looked really mushy and a bit sad. They tasted a bit bland too. My son wasn’t super into them and he eats a variety of flavours. Flavour could be improved. My partner commented on the appearance and said that we don’t want to turn him off baked beans. Not a memorable product. Have another tin to eat but won’t be but won’t be buying again.

Epoxy Beans. Baked beans is something I haven’t had for a very long time. Not since my high school camping days to be exact. I do remember there was a specific taste and smell of the beans so will see if those memories come flooding back by trying these today. I like the can- it’s got a nice colour and I love the purple stripe with organic written on it. It makes me think that these beans are gonna be special being organic. I couldn’t think of any other way to eat them besides baked beans on toast so that’s what I did. I heated the beans in the saucepan according to the directions on the can. When I opened them from the can and put them in I was a bit concerned because they seemed a bit gluggy but as they cooked, the sauce melted and they became very loose and looked rather nice. I was surprised to see the size of these beings somehow I remember them to be a lot bigger. I spread them on the toast when they’re cooked and tasted them and definitely that taste came flooding back as a memory. I really wasn’t a fan of baked beans but they weren’t horrendous to try. I did manage to finish this plate of beans so look out tomorrow! Flavour wise they were very mild. More of a bland bean than a tasty sauce to accompany these beans. One thing that I did notice as I was cleaning up the dishes was I looked at the can to rinse and throw in the recycling - I noticed there were some scraping marks on the inside of the can obviously from me scraping the beans out, with some steel sections staring at me from the white inside. I took a teaspoon and continued to scrape to can and to my surprise a great deal of the inside coating was on my teaspoon!!That immediately concerned me!!! What alerted me to this was those silver lines in this white paint so I’ve already ingested some of whatever this coating is?? This is probably the most alarming thing of the whole product. You obviously do scrape the can to get the beans into the saucepan and I’m mortified to see that the inside coating comes off so easily. I believe that coating is BPA??? And its now jumped into my baked beans with some minimal scraping motion against the edge. If all the macro tins are like this inside then is this something that we need to investigate?? @bunchmadisonI cant say I'll be purchasing these again, mainly because I'm not a fan of baked beans but also because of my incidental epoxy coating finding!!

Baked Beans make you .................. I like baked beans and when I was on a diet program baked beans on toast was my daily breakfast. So I was pleased to get this sample to try as I normally go for the one in the green tin and as I intend on revisiting the diet program in 2022, this is a good opportunity to sample. The product is certified organic and has a 4 star health rating. It costs 95c and the can says there are 2 servings. For a price of just under 50c per serving this product is below the other brand names for size and cost and therefore making it a great competitor. Upon opening the can, there was a fair amount of sauce on the top however when tipping the can out, the beans were packed in, so there actually was a lot more beans than in other brands. I had the 1st serving (not quiet the full suggested serving size) for breakfast on unbuttered toast. There were a lot of beans, quite “meaty” and plenty of sauce. However the beans were a little bland. I had the 2nd serving (still not quiet the full suggested serving size) the next day for breakfast with some bacon and toast (to mimic a big breakfast cookup). The beans were still a little bland however this was masked by the addition of bacon. I would say that there are actually 3 breakfast servings in the tin and they are value for money however they are a little bland. Honestly, I would buy it again if there was nothing else on the shelf but otherwise I would not.

Not nice at all. I love baked beans, tinned or home made but these are terrible. I thought being an organic product that they would at least be appetising. Being packed in Italy, I expected a garlic and herb flavouring throughout, ingredients even list a garlic and onion powder but there is not a hint of either in their taste or smell. The description is baked beans in tomato sauce - unfortunately I think they missed the tomato!Opening the tin it just looked a weird colour of liquid, I couldn't see any beans. I tipped the tin over a bowl, having to use a spoon to scoop the beans out as they had compacted at the bottom. The sauce is runny, pale, tasteless and very unappealing to look at. The beans are smallish, which I didn't mind, and they have kept their shape and ... MoreNot nice at all. I love baked beans, tinned or home made but these are terrible. The beans are smallish, which I didn't mind, and they have kept their shape and firmness. Upon heating them I could smell a vinegary smell and the sauce looked a little frothy. I decided to serve them on toast and avoided most of the sauce. I ate them but did not enjoy them. I bought 2 tins as the price of $1. 60 each was what convinced me to give them a go. Unfortunately I'm not sure I will want to eat the remaining tin as 3 of the 4 of us tried them and all agree that they are tasteless. I think if I do serve them I would actually use them to substitute into my home made recipe, which has bacon, garlic and onion plus spices such as smoked paprika to create a tasty breakfast meal. Would I buy them again? No I wouldn't. Even the appeal of an organic product does not substitute for taste and quality.

Great Price! You can’t really go wrong with something that only costs 95c; this is way cheaper than the name brands. Macro certified organic and 4 star health rating ensures it’s good for you. It tastes pretty good, not really strong in tomato sauce, nor salty; quite mild really. The beans themselves have a little bit of firmness to them, enough so that they offer a bit of resistance when you bite, and they’re not mushy like an “English” type can be. A good amount of sauce to bean ratio, so that when you get to the end you don’t have any sauce left over. Only downside is that they are “packed in Italy with ingredients from multiple origins”, so unsure of where it actually comes from. Overall, great taste, although on the mild side compared to others. Not Bad. This is an ok product - nothing that blows your mind but also not going to make you gag. It’s very easy on the wallet and is good to have as a staple pantry item. Makes an easy, quick nutritious meal. Our family likes to have it as a breakfast item - simply heat it up with a touch of water and some ketchup for some extra taste and you’re good to go with some toast, bacon and egg on the side. We sometimes have it with rice for dinner too with some extra tweaks. Fry up some plain omelette and put it aside. Then soften up some sliced onions, throw in a can of these baked beans, add some hot water, squeeze some ketchup in then slide in some cut up omelette. Kids loves the dish on top of some rice. Bland, not appetising. Tin is recyclable with a pull-out lever which makes it easy to open. Labels are ok but not as visible on the white background compared to other macro products. Price of. 95 cents is surprisingly cheap considering it is labelled as organic. Upon opening, the colour wasn’t as bright as my usual brand, very pale brown (see pics). There was a pool of runny liquid on top but thickened slightly after mixing it with the rest. Beans were tender and slightly mushy, size of the beans vary from small to medium but generally smaller than branded ones. The sauce wasn’t appealing, it tasted so-so, no flavour and had a slightly bitter aftertaste. It is packed in Italy with ingredients from multiple origins and labelled certified organic. Mild on flavour. These are with all the other baked beans and have the same ‘Big O’ labelling as other macro organic products to identify the can. Open to find a thick orange-red sauce hiding the beans and a sweet tomato smell. After gently warming up, the beans stayed full and held their shape but were soft to eat. The tomato flavour was mild and needed some extra seasoning according to personal preference. Was not too salty. It was a great accompaniment to our meatloaf and pasta but obviously is even better eaten on toast. Just add some pepper or spicing. Packed in Italy and priced at $1. 60.

Delicious Organic Baked Beans. These organic baked beans are well balanced and full of flavour. These can be enjoyed straight from the tin or warmed up on toast. They have the right balance of herbs and sweetness. Packed in Italy with ingredients from multiple origins. Would be nice to know where the other ingredients are coming from.
