Highly recommended, and I'm thinking of buying these again after I compared the amount of salt in this sample with the usual black beans I buy (80 cents). 6 mg of sodium per serving in this one, against 156 mg in the ones I generally buy! This organic one is a definitely better for our heart. I've never tried the Woolworths no added salt red kidney beans (80 cents), but I checked their label here in Bunch. The organic sample contains 4 g of proteins (the non organic no added salt one 5. 9) 71 calories (against 76) 4. 1 g fibre (against 4. 9), 6 mg of sodium (against <5 mg). I am going to look for the no added salt ones, but meanwhile I am very happy to use these ones. I find the dimensions perfect. A great choice for our body, in particular our heart and gut. Lovely product!

Cool Beans . We use Black Beans in our Vegetarian Nachoâs so it was great to get this sample. We usually buy the regular Woolworths brand so we were looking forward to trying these. They were probably a little bigger and firmer and tasted really great. There was however not a massive difference between the two, but they were very nice and the quality and flavour could not be faulted in any way. Little Black Beauties. After having read a number of reviews on these Black Beans I thought it was time to try them. We do enjoy red kidney beans, cannellini beans, butter beans, borlotti beans and four bean mix. I decided to add them to my Hi Fi Min I cooked for dinner last night. Firstly draining and rinsing them as I do with all tinned beans. They were really delicious and added bulk to the meal so I have some extra meals to freeze for later. I served our meal with riceThe great thing about beans is that it cuts down the amount of meat you use in meals so saving on dollars and also adds that extra flavour and health benefits like fibre so it's a win win situation! These little black beauties have no added saltFive Star Health RatingACO Certified OrganicPacked in ... MoreLittle Black Beauties. Very well travelled beanies. These beans were fine. Not too mushy, not too hard. They were the same price as the brand name beans so Iâd probably stick to brand name. I generally buy tinned beans when theyâre on special, which is quite regularly. I would normally buy beans with salt rather than no added salt as I thought they would have less flavour, but these were fine. I drained and rinsed them and included them as part of a Mexican bean salad. Black beans are not very flavourful so I usually buy kidney beans instead as theyâre often cheaper and they all taste much the same. The tin contains only 60% beans. The only other ingredient is water, so youâre paying for a good amount of water. I havenât checked other tins of beans to compare proportions so have no idea ... MoreVery well travelled beanies. I havenât checked other tins of beans to compare proportions so have no idea if this is normal, but it sounds like a lot. They werenât floating in water though despite there being a lot of water in the tin. Major huge issue though! These beans were grown in America, shipped half way across the world to be packed in Italy, then shipped half way across the world to Woolworths shelves here in Australia. Iâm sure Iâm not allowed to swear, but really that is ******! How bad for the world and the environment is that? At least grow and process the beans in the same country! Iâm happy to buy American products. Iâm happy to buy Italian products, but really there is something wrong when a product does that kind of world trip before landing on supermarket shelves. Whatâs the point of recycling and all the environmental initiatives if we continue to produce our food this way?To summarise - beans are fine but I donât need organic ones produced that way. Knocked off a star for that.
Canât fault them. Have been um-ming and ah-ing about what to use this sample for. Thought Iâd look up some beef in black bean sauce recipes on bunch but the majority of recipes used ready made black bean sauce In the end I decided to add it to some pork mince along with some taco seasoning mix, mushrooms, spring onions and some cumin seeds (another bunch sample). Served this with some rice to make a Mexican type dish. Upon opening the can, greeted with the 40% water as a murky cloudy gluggy liquid. Carefully poured this out and added the beans to my pot of ingredients. The beans were soft and mushy and even more so after cooking further. Some of the skins were a bit tough and chewy. Nourishing and delicious! I recently tried Macro Organic Black Beans and was impressed by their quality and taste. The beans have a rich, earthy flavor that is both satisfying and nourishing. They're firm, yet tender, and have a nice texture that holds up well in a variety of dishes. One thing that I particularly liked about these black beans is that they are organic and non-GMO, which is important to me when choosing food products. They are also a great source of plant-based protein and fiber, making them a healthy and nutritious ingredient to incorporate in meals. I used these black beans to make a black bean soup and it turned out delicious. They also worked well as a side dish or as a base for a vegan chili. Great product. I eat this type of thing regularly so I liked getting this product to sample. I had no trouble finding it at Woolworths, although it did blend in with the red beans on the shelf. The pull back ring on the top of the can made for opening the can easy. I've got a bad wrist so I struggle sometimes opening cans but didn't have any trouble with this one. I added these to my salad for lunch and cooked them up to have them with dinner. They tasted just as good cold as they did cooked up. They were soft but not mushy and held their shape as I would expect. They have a 5 health star rating, which is great, are AVO certified organic, salt reduced (I prefer this as I don't need the extra salt) and a good sauce of fibre. This is disappointing and I wonder if they could source the beans in Australia to make this an Australian product. Thank you Bunch for giving me the opportunity to sample this product.
Healthy beans, no added salt. This is another great Macro product. Found in the tinned vegetables aisle. Great price - $1. 50 for 420gHSR 5, certified organic and no added salt. A great source of fibre. These beans are packed in Italy with beans from USA. INGREDIENTS - Black Beans 60%, water. The can and lid is âťď¸. The lid was an easy ring pull. There is quite a lot of liquid in the tin, so be careful not to spill it. Once drained, I used the black beans in a mixture of refried beans, a four bean mix and pasta sauce to make a topping for what we call Haystacks. Basically the first layer is corn chips, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, the bean mix and sour cream. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the finished meal as I had to go out and it was devoured before I ... MoreHealthy beans, no added salt. This is another great Macro product. I often add them to my work salads and curries. I have also mixed them in fried rice as well. I have just found a great black bean pattie to try when I purchase my next tin. A great product to keep in the pantry with a very long expiry date of 2025. I have used this product before and will continue to use it and would definitely recommend this brand. Thanks Bunch for this sample.
Great staple. I regularly buy and use black beans, as we like to eat (so I make quite a few) Mexican dishes, so I was looking forward to trying this sample. Found in the canned vegetable aisle, these black beans were easy to locate. The distinctive Macro labelling with the prominent âorganicâ claim made the product distinguishable from other products. In addition, the ring pull allowed for easy opening. On opening, the beans inside were tightly packed in, but sitting in a significant amount of liquid, so needed to be drained and rinsed. The beans were uniform shape and appeared (and indeed were) firm yet tender. I used these beans in a Mexican Rice Bake (a Recipe Tins Eats recipe) and they were perfect. I personally would buy the cheaper product but I do recommend these beans.
