Healthy flour. when I received this sample and saw Macro Organic Flour White Spelt 750g I didn't know what Spelt meant so after some research it seems that this flour has a higher protein content, so you are able to use to make breads along with cakes, cookies or pasta. it is a much healthier than other flour. Priced at $7. 50 for 750g so quite expensive compared to normal flour. I used it to make some cookies which tasted quite good. I probably would not buy again as I don't do much cooking so just the normal flour works for us however, if you cook a lot and wanted a healthy flour that can be used for bread and baking this would be a great choice.

Healthier Flour. Spelt is an ancient grain and therefore a healthier flour with more nutrients. It has a nuttier taste and was great for the pasta I made. Plain flour works fine for me but this is great for a healthier version of pasta or baking. Price is high compared to plain flour.

Nutty sweet flavour. I am embarrassed to say I had never heard of spelt flour. Perhaps because I buy the home brand flour usually that costs a whole lot less. This trial was a perfect chance to try something new and learn a little about a new product. I have learnt that it is Rich in both vitamins and minerals and higher in protein than wheat flour. For people sensitive to wheat flour (not celiacs as it still has gluten) it is easier to digest than wheat flour. I used it make my mid week muffins and scones and was impressed by how much fluffier and softer they both were. The flavour was a little nutty and I also thought sweeter. I think getting to know this product on a tried and tested recipe is probably a good idea to avoid disappointment. There is a lot to like about spelt flour but the price is steep and triple what I pay for my usual flour. I am not sure I would buy this product all the time but if I wanted to impress with super light fluffy muffins or scones or had someone with digestive issues (not celiac) I would indulge for sure. Thank you Bunch for this learning opportunity and to try a product i knew nothing about

Healthy alternative to plain flour. I used this flour to make cakes and muffin. Tastes great but I cannot tell the difference between it and normal flour. I guess it is supposed to be healthier. Unfortunately, it is too expensive for me at $7, compared to $2 for 1kg of plain flour.
Standard flour alternative. This flour was comparable to standard white flour and easy to substitute in baking recipes. I used it to make a carrot cake, and don’t think you could really tell the difference (compared to if I had used standard white flour). Spelt flour supposedly has a ‘nuttier’ flavour, however you might have to make a simpler recipe to notice the difference. It’s a great alternative to standard flour (e. g. for taste or nutrition) however it is fairly expensive and for that reason I likely wouldn’t buy it very regularly.
Organic is the best. I have been using spelt (and kamut) flour for years and won't use processed white flour in my cooking. My hubby made his version of roti dough with the Macro spelt flour, yoghurt and a bit of baking powder with a ricotta cheese filling. The Macro organic spelt flour seems to be the same as the one I have in my pantry that I usually purchase from the organic green grocer (for way cheaper). Spelt is interchangeable with white flour in all recipes. Great thing is that you can make your own spelt self raising flour using 1 teaspoon of baking powder to 1 cup of plain flour. I love that the Macro spelt is certified organic and isn't grown with pesticides, synthetic chemicals, not bleached and far healthier than white flour. Do yourself a favour and research modern wheat, how wheat grain has been altered over the past 40 or so years and how processed it has become. I would buy it again from Woollies if it wasn't so expensive.
Fabulous organic option. For organic and health benifit, it’s priced well, and such great quality. Compared to other plain flour, it contains higher protein and lower carb content. Can be used as a better/healthier alternative to plain white flour. We used it to make waffles and madeleines. Would purchase again, not a big baker, but definitely converted.
Silky soft. Very expensive flour $7. 50 for 750g but boy is it good if you’re a regular baker. This flour was so light and airy when I sieved it, clump free. It was a joy using it. I made some mini herb rolls to have with dinner. And have enough flour to make pasta later in the week. Highly recommend. Only negative is the plastic package as most flours these days are packed in thick paper bags. But that could be because it travelled from Italy.
Healthy alternative. This organic spelt flour is healthy and great quality. Compared to the woolies homebrand plain flour, it contains slightly higher protein (11. 6g vs. 10g per 100g) and lower carb content. (71. 6g vs. 73. 2g). I used it to make pancakes and muffins, which tasted much the same, but I love knowing that my family is eating healthier.
Great Quality. Interesting product not one we purchase but willing to try. Coarser obviously than usual white flourCooks just as well as normal flour. I turned it into self-raising for the sticky date pud and it worked brilliantly. Beautiful soft texture... does taste a little different to me... its hard to describe. But not horrible. It's not something we would purchase due to the price and its only 750gm... when we bake we bake lots!! But if it's something you would normally purchase and in your price bracket then go for it!! Beautiful quality product. Thanks Bunch for the opportunity to try!
