Good Kifir kit. Using it to make Kombucha. It works great. I have produced around 5 litres from the first satchel of grains. Use the juice you want for a great tasting carbonated low sugar probiotic drink. Yum

I had never tried or made Kefir before but Mad Millie's kit makes it super easy. Honestly, I can't believe how easy it was! It literally took a minute or two to prep and then 24ish hours for the kefir to sit before being ready to refrigerate and drink. The kefir is delicious and tastes like a lumpy tangy Greek yoghurt. I can't wait to make more. I also can't wait to try some of Mad Millie's other kits.

Brilliant little kit to get you started and give you confidence. Not quite as tasty as the supermarket but an awful lot cheaper. You can reuse time and time again. One little tip use full fat milk if you want your kafir thick. I used half water and half semi skimmed milk first time trying to reduce the calories, but it just wasn’t tasty. So it’s worth the extra calories for the taste and thickness I just don’t have quite as much

Bought this some time ago, so may be using older version. I've now used 4 sachets (making up to 5 lots per sachets). The kefir is delicious, using skimmed milk. But not only is the lid inclined to leak unless one is very careful, the white coating on the metal lid is coming off at the rim where it can come into contact with the kefir itself. I'm not sure this is safe (bits of coating getting in the kefir?) and it certainly shouldn't be happening so quickly..
I bought this kit a few months back along with your electric yogurt maker. A couple of days ago I thought I'd give it a go. I followed the instructions to the letter and the consistency has not changed at all. A pity because it's not a cheap kit and now I've wasted a litre of milk which as it's been sitting in my kitchen for 2 days I shan't be drinking. I'll stick to my electric yogurt maker which does work.
I've had my kit for 3 years now. I've learnt that 'room temperature' in NZ (where the kit comes from) is way warmer than in the UK. Make the kefir in a warm place like an airing cupboard. Saving one-third of a cup rather than a quarter of a cup to make the next batch, meant the kefir stayed creamy and I got 7 or 8 batches from the original one. I bought a second glass jar and mixing ball online so that I could start a new batch without having to finish all of the first one. Whole milk worked better than semi-skimmed, making a smoother, creamer kefir.
Just had a strawberry smoothie made with my first batch and very happy with the results. Very tasty! Makes a nice thick drink. Unfortunately, like another customer, I found the lid didn’t fit very well so watch out when you are shaking the jar!
The freeze-dried culture makes great kefir. I've used soya, oat and coconut milk successfully so far. I do warm the milk slightly first and then put the jar in my airing cupboard. It still takes around 2 days rather than the 24 hours suggested. I'm not so keen on the rest of the 'kit'. For a repeat batch, the jar isn't big enough to hold 1litre of milk plus the 68g starter. Also the lid doesn't fit that well and when you shake the kefir it tends to fizz out. I'll probably give up on the jar and use a Lakeland fermentation jar instead. These have much better fitting tops.
Pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to make Kefir. First time I used whole milk and sachet.Agree that shaking the jar it does leak I put the jar in the airing cupboard and approx 12.hrs later it was a wobbly set.(It doesn't set firm like yoghurt)Tasted excellent. The second batch I made using half whole and half semi skimmed milk - total 750ml and the recommended quantity of my already made kefir one quarter of a cup.It set to the correct consistency and tasted delicious. I was able to use my kefir starter at least 4 times to remake the kefir. Its so quick and easy to make.Tastes really good
