I purchased this to fit into the second sink of my double sink (which it did!) and appreciate the deep plastic/rubber design because the wire dish drain I'd used previously had rusted through the vinyl covering at various points and left rust marks on dishes and in the sink. No issue with that here. The rack doesn't hold the plates quite as effectively as the old design wire type, because it has only short bumps to separate them, but it does the job well enough. The slots for holding cutlery can be annoying because small spoons and such will slip out due to the lack of one side being enclosed, however, this deficiency is what makes the cutlery section far easier to keep clean than other designs, as the top easily pops off and on, so I put up with the inconvenience ... MoreI purchased this to fit into the second sink of my double sink (which it did!) and appreciate the deep plastic/rubber design because the wire dish drain I'd used previously had rusted through the vinyl covering at various points and left rust marks on dishes and in the sink. I have not used it on the counter. You'd need a drainboard beneath it, which would need to be purchased separately.

After a few months of use, black moldy spots started appearing on the grey rubber section. I never collapse the dish rack. It is always hanging on one of my 2 small sinks, draining water drips into the sink. Whenever the rack is empty, I tried to invert the rack over the sink in the morning or overnight . This did not prevent even more black spots forming all the way around the rack. So after using this for a few months, I have to throw it away even when all parts of the plastic rack are still intact. What a shame as I really dislike adding to the world's garbage pile.

I have a small, set of double sinks in the kitchen of my small apt and this fits perfectly into one side. It doesn't need counter space I don't have and I don't have to worry about dishes dripping onto the floor or counter and making a mess. Now, if I could find a small size dish pan that is wide enough for a dinner plate to fit in the other sink, I would be all set.

Now, if I could find a small size dish pan that is wide enough for a dinner plate to fit in the other sink, I would be all set.
Bought this for the RV, because it collapses for easy storage. The plastic divider for utensils clips off, giving extra space for other things. It drains well ( I purchased the clear plastic drain mat that fits underneath it, and guides the water into the sink), and cleans easily. My son needed one, but refused to get one because he didn't want it exposed when not in use. He loves this, and stores it under the sink when not in use. It's the perfect size for a small area with not a lot of dishes to wash.
Bought this item as I thought it would not take up as much space on my counter. It is a little smaller than my previous one. I like how the dinner plates fit securely into the rack. The cutlery spaces help separate the items for quicker drying. However, the teaspoons need to be placed carefully or they will fall over. You will need to place this rack in the sink, over top of a flat tray, or over a tea towel to catch the water that drains off the dishes. When not in use, I store it away under the cupboard. I do like the soft blue and white color of this item!
It is compact, but the clever bottom design allows maximum space for plates and bowls of all shapes and sizes. Fits in my sink, if needed. I recommend a separate mat for cups and glasses. That said, the cutlery and and utensil area is flimsy and items fall into the pan, potentially chipping a bowl. If you buy one, get a separate thing to put those items in.
The problem with coated wire racks is that silverware and other small things fall through the spaces and end up in the sink. This rack has a solid bottom with small drain holes. Nothing will fall through.Since the sides and bottom are solid, there is a little less room than in a traditional coated wire rack but I still like this better. The material is plastic, with silicone on the collapsible sidesI only use one or two of the cutlery spaces, and then put champagne flutes in other cutlery spots. The color is white with charcoal gray on the collapsible sides. I don't plan to collapse mine, but just leave it in place, but others might prefer to collapse it for storage.
This is a very good idea however the construction is very poor. I purchased the dish rack because I was looking for something just like it at first blush because it was extendable it was exactly what I was looking while I unpack and sit at home and extended it the top broke off immediately. That was due to the fact that the tabs that lock the top to the bottom were made entirely too small and were easily breakable. I went back to the store assuming that it was my fault and wanted to replace it there were at least two more that were already broken and the tops were gone. In order to make this a great product those top retainers need to be at least triple the size so they don’t break.
love that it's collapsible and takes up less space. love that it's not entirely hard plastic--the silicone is a welcome addition to the standard drying rack. love that it was marked as "women-owned", that was evident in its design and function. i'm not into the cheap plastic that is used as optional utensil divider. the price was a little more than what you are getting. all said, i'd buy it again.
The small collapsible dish rack is perfectly adequate for a single person and small kitchen, being collapsible allows easy storage and clears more workspace for food prep when stored in a cupboard. It would be ideal for campers or caravanners. It is also easy to clean and kind to expensive knives and crockery.
