I remember some years back that Bachelors made a cream of onion packet soup which was delicious. Its no longer available so when I saw this I hoped it might be similar. Sadly its nothing like it as this soup is thin, watery and doesnt even taste of onion. Needless to say I wont be buying this again.

Good old Maggie onion soup has so many uses and thanks to the internet there are lots of recipes to be found, delicious simply on its own or used as a base for a more gourmet soup or like most Kiwis we use it to make the best chip dip on the planet.

Making dip? then don't go past using any maggi soup product.No matter what flavor you choose, maggi is the best soup for creating your favorite chip dip plus they've been around for decades so they know they're the best.
Famous to use when making Kiwi Onion Dip, but these days I use it mainly as a soup - with a few additions it makes a really YUMMY soup, and is quick and easy. I recommend using a little less water than suggested (I use 500ml rather than 600ml), and add black pepper, extra salt to taste, a bit of sweet chilli sauce, a handful of frozen peas, some instant noodles with our without flavour sachet - and - if you have them on hand (not necessary but makes a more filling and tasty meal), some sliced up chorizo or kransky sausages - cooked with a little chopped onion before add to soup. YUM! Also outstanding as a dip of course, as others have said - just add a can of reduced cream and some lemon juice or vinegar.
the vinegar makes it salty enough. Love kiwi dip is my favourite, have found nothing better
