This Commander Starter Deck provided all the things needed to begin playing. The deck came with one foil-etched commander card, with shining foil etched into art. It's a super cool concept and my 10-year-old was eager to open and play. However, it took a while, and I'm still not sure I understand, for my husband and I to figure out the objective. It provided us a lot of time to spend time together figuring out how to play, which was the ultimate goal.

Magic: The Gathering - MTG STARTER COMMANDER DECK SD2 is great for someone that has never played a TCG. Which is what they are for. Each set has several double-sided token cards, a deck box and several cardboard punch out tokens. The box holds all 100 cards with card sleeves.

My family and I found this game to be a bit challenging to learn. We are not into science fiction and there was so many different characters, new words, etc. that we just found it confusing. I also don't like that the game is about casual warfare. Would rather play a game that has more of a positive spin to it. However if someone was into science fiction they may love the game. Just not for us.

This was a throwback to what I remember playing in my teens. The cards were very similar and contains the card game Magic the Gathering. This is a great game to play with friends and reminded me of the deck of cards I had growing up. I would recommend.
These starters commander decks are made to be played with other startersgreat at teaching brand new players how to play magic with their friends.Might be better to buy other commander decks if playing long term.makes okay gift.
This is great for anyone who is just learning to play MTG! the cards are high quality and are great for beginners or advanced players! Beautiful deck and they are fun fun fun to play with. I would recommend to anyone looking for a new deck!
My son was interested in playing commander so I got this pack to start with. I have never played that kind of game so I was a little intimidated but saw that those are a good starting point.To be honest, I am still confused about this game and not really a fan, but my son has since added a few other "stronger" packs to his collection and seems to like it (while it seems that his excitement has faded a little).From a printing/design standpoint, the quality of these cards is great, although I must say that the box it came in is not good and flimsy.If you/your kids (or gift recipient) don’t really know where to start, these are a great place to start but expect to buy a lot more packs to complete the collection!

It has been a long time since I have played Magic the Gathering but with this starter deck it is all I need to get myself going again. It brings back such great memories and the cards them selves are amazing. They are very graphic and help get your imagination going. They are everything you need to play with others. The game itself is pretty simple to figure out and I'm sure I will be buying expansions to upgrade my deck in the bear future. I would definitely recommend!
