MaimeriBlu features an absolute purity of pigments that, together with gum arabic, compose the totality of the mixture. Imperceptible, transparent, clean. No blending powders, and no additives. Nothing harmonises or synchronises the shift between the various shades. The real value lies in the transparency of its colours and in the freshness of its washes. It is the whiteness of the paper that illuminates this type of painting. The light is behind the colour.

I should have started buying dot cards a year ago.. all the information at your fingertips, I thought I'd get this and discover a half dozen colors I had to have. Instead I discovered that what I thought I wanted, based on the computer screen, is not what I thought it was, and I would be much happier with other choices. Could have saved a ton of money if I'd done this earlier. *sigh* #sweepstakes

This color is amazing. I was looking for some more pink colors to add to my collection. I love WN's Opera Rose, but sometimes it just a little too bright. I love this brand. I sketch in some mixed media books and this brand shows the color better than other brands. While some of the colors tend to have an "oil" feeling to them, this color isn't like that. So far I have only noticed two colors from MaimeriBlu collection that just seem odd. This one is like butter. I watched a lot of videos before I purchased and I am glad I did. I understand why so many suggested it. It is on my top 10 list for sure.

I like the product, I have used it before, and the paint is great for my journey into watercolor. My first painting was not my best effort. I am practicing also I am trying to go at a slower pace and it is working well for me.Thanks for the products and your wisdom in things I need. Many thanks !!!

This is a very nice set of paints, put together by a successful watercolor artist, that will give good results. The colors are pretty and play nicely when mixed. :) They also have a smooth creamy consistency. I'm including a practice piece so you can see the variety of colors you can get. I do have other more expensive sets which are top of the line, but this set is affordable and will work well for students as well as pros. #sweepstakes
I heard about this brand from another artist Jenna Rainey. She said good things about the paint and how they were made with less harmful materials. She did a review and a whole color swatch test of all their colors. So, I decided to check them out and I'm really glad I did. I'm loving them a lot, they are really nice and when I first tested one of the colors I was in heaven. I couldn't believe how vibrant the color was and how the fading was so perfect and even. I think I was hooked from the beginning. This brand isn't well know and is hard to find but thankfully Blick art supplies sells it. I also love Blick art store and the professional high quality products they sell compared to cheap art supply stores. The only thing I wish is that there was a store like this a lot closer to home and not so far away. Of course that could also be a bad thing lol I would probably be in the store so much spending all my money haha. So if someone asked me about this maimeri blu brand I would definitely recommend it 100%.Praying I win this#sweapstakes
I found this paint to be very sticky/gummy. There was also some separation in the tube. The color, although strong, appeared dull on paper. The one good thing about it was that, except for Ivory Black and the Ox Gall Medium, the line does not contain any animal products. However the line contains too many cadmiums and cobalts that could affect both humans and the ecosystem (due to used water containing toxic elements).
I wanted to use the DOT card to get a better idea of the MaimeriBlu paint quality and overall color palette.1- the DOT card is printed on glassy paper which makes it almost impossible to wet and spread the paint. not a Yupo paper more like a magazine glassy paper that pushes out the paint.2- the paint dots themselves are SO small that there isn't enough to fill a 1"x1" sample square for most of the colors. Of. course the very fluid colors like a PV19 or a Pyrolle spread out easily with just a speck but all the earth colors do not fill the square. It was extremely disappointing, frustrating and a pure waste of money.Again this is not a judgement on the quality of the paints that I was simply unable to test.
I wanted to love this color. I tried. It's just weird. I contacted Blick and they were amazing and sent me another tube and it did the same thing. It is like trying to get oil to mix in water. Which is odd because the other colors are truly amazing. I tried letting it dry on my palette for a few days and it still reacted the same way. I was expecting it to react like winsor and Newtons burnt umber, and it did not. It was just odd. No one else has talked about it, so I don't know if it just my bad luck, or a bad lot. Definitely not giving up on this brand and I love all my other colors.
My picture doesn't do this color justice. It looks really brownish. I wasn't sure about it, to be honest. After using it, I understood the hype. For flowers, just pop this color in with almost any blush or pink color and you get some amazing shadows and depth. It pairs so well with almost every color I have used it for.
This is my personal favorite line Maimeriblu.I am just trying this shade. Never used any of the Cadmium colors and was told they were hard to work with. I've always used transparent shades. I' have no finished work to share yet. As with all the Maimer line I'mencouraged at this time. The paint flows very nicely and doesn't stain, and seems to play well with others. Beautiful mixes. I have several of these Cadds now.
