I absolutely love this foundation. My skin type is oily with large pores in my t zone, and this foundation help my skin look flawless. I did not look cakey, no dry patches, no heavy make up feel, no extra oil or tacky feeling. This formula is light weight, airy, with a great coverage. If you want full coverage you can build with this and it’s so easy to apply more, to get your desired look without being cakey. It does not have a weird smell. Very easy to blend with beauty blender or foundation brush. I’m definitely going to use this foundation from now on. I have acne scars, large pores, and oily skin and this is the first foundation we’re I look blurred, and smooth, this never happens for me. I’m in love with this stuff.

I received this complementary from Influenster in exchange for my honest thoughts. I’d call this foundation a true satin finish; looks like healthy, hydrated skin. With setting powder it gives a natural matte finish. Initial application (1 pump) yields medium coverage, but fuller coverage can be achieved with layering. So far I prefer applying with my fingertips then blending out lightly with a damp beauty sponge. Applying directly onto a sponge soaked up more product than I’d like. The formula blends out easily, feels light on, and doesn’t cake or crease. I really enjoy the feeling of this foundation on the skin! Setting powder is a must for me personally with HD Skin. Throughout the day I also notice minor oxidation. By the end of the day my skin looks a bit shiny in the T zone.I alternate between or mix shades 1N1 and 2N1 in Double Wear and shade 1N06 in HD Skin is a good match. It leans the slightest bit too warm on me, but with concealer and setting powder looks fine. It would likely be near perfect in the summer when I’m more tanned.Overall I think this is a quality foundation with high performance that’s fairly priced. I would absolutely recommend it, probably more so to those with combination to dry skin. I won’t be swapping my Double Wear out for HD Skin, but I will definitely reach for it on occasion until I've used this bottle up.

I have very mixed feelings about this foundation. I want to start with the hydrating primer- it has a very thin consistency and a peachy pigment color, which normally evens out skin tone but I don’t think it was pigmented enough to make a noticeable difference. It was, however, very silky and decent at hydrating. It wasn’t pore filling, but I don’t look for that in a primer anyways. This felt more like a light weight moisturizer with maybe a little stickiness. I tried this in the winter, which is when I have combo skin— very dry and somewhat oily in the T Zone. In the summer my skin is more normal to oily. I had a few active, larger red acne spots when trying this and some closed comedones. In the summer my skin is more normal to oily. I had a few active, larger red acne spots when trying this and some closed comedones. The shade was a perfect match for me, best match I’ve EVER found in a foundation. I really likely the consistency. I felt like I was wearing foundation, but it wasn’t extremely heavy or uncomfortable. I was IN LOVEEEE when I first applied the foundation. It looked so silky smooth and even with a natural glow. It looked very natural from up close. It was laying gorgeously on my skin. It looked pretty on par with the product photos. You can build this up to medium coverage. It did not fully cover my active red acne after building. I personally dont think it was worth building a lot… it just adds more product without any additional or meaningful coverage benefit. It didn’t make my comedones look any worse than normal. It did a really good job overall, as I didn’t feel it enhanced my texture anymore than my favorite go to foundations. It started to go downhill as I was finishing my makeup. My skin started feeling pretty itchy. I do have sensitive skin, but it wasn’t too excessive. I could feel that the active acne I had was irritated, which is abnormal for my typical routine. I noticed the foundation beginning to lose its original finish and it started settling in and getting textured. This was an issue on my forehead and nose. These are not typical problem areas for me. The rest of my face the texture was typical of my normal go to foundations. I decided to powder with the givenchy prisme libre powder as it always smooths foundation out and makes airbrushed and literally perfect. Surprisingly, it actually made the foundation look worse. It took away some coverage, and the texture/fine lines became even more emphasized. This was very strange for me, along with the forehead texture in general. I’m 26, this is the first time I’ve ever even seen forehead fine lines on my face… at least emphasized like that. At this point, the foundation looked fine but I didn’t think it was anything shockingly great. I liked the packaging, initial application, shade match, and consistency, but I don’t know if it stood out enough for me to reach for this over my go-tos. At the end of the night the texture was slightly more emphasized. I feel this foundation clings a bit to dryness and creates some texture. There was also some oil coming through, but nothing excessive. I wouldn’t wear this if I had a very dry skin day, nor would I wear this in the summer when I’m extra oily. I don’t think it made me break out, but I do think it irritated my existing acne as the comedones became more red and irritated after taking it off and the few days following. I think this foundation could work well with people who have already near great and normal skin. It would still work well for those with normal, smoother skin who get the occasional breakout. It’s a good foundation. I’d give 3.5 stars if that was an option, but for me it wasn’t good enough for 4 stars. There were some ingredients I suspect caused some irritation for me and I’d love to see a formula without those, and in that case I would definitely continue to try this out with different primers and powders.

This is a good foundation. However, it's not amazing! The shade range is inclusive to all skin tones and undertones. I would especially recommend this for Women of Color or Indian women searching for a new foundation, you are guaranteed to find your perfect shade match. I match to the shade 3Y52, in the old Makeup Forever Foundation, I matched to Y445 toward the perimeters of my face, and Y425 (3Y46 in the new foundation) matched the center of my face.If you decide to purchase this foundation, it will oxidize, so go one shade lighter than your perfect shade match. The finish of this foundation is more of a demi-matte. The foundation is more of a medium coverage, but it can be built up to full coverage. Long lasting natural looking foundation

For reference, I am in my mid 40s and have normal skin in summer and dry in winter. I have huge pores, lines and wrinkles and hyperpigmentation, so there is a lot to cover/disguise. I really liked this foundation.PROS:- It didn’t set into my wrinkles, not even at the end of the day!- It has a beautiful skin like natural finish.- It has a light coverage, buildable to medium, that covers sufficiently my hyperpigmentation (but not fully)- It feels lightweight.- It didn’t dry out my skin. I prepared the skin well before applying the foundation and the hydration was maintained during the day. It didn’t look greasy at the end of the day either.- It stayed looking beautiful the entire day (I wore it for 14 hours)- It resisted the heat and humidity not melting ... MoreFor reference, I am in my mid 40s and have normal skin in summer and dry in winter. It has and FSC carton and bio-sourced cap.- It has a reasonable price for the quality. I got it while on sale so it was a great price.CONS:- It didn’t disguise my pores at all, which are quite big and that’s the main reason to take one star off.- It has alcohol as third ingredient and I can definitely smell the alcohol while applying the product. I don’t have sensitive skin so it is not an issue for me.- It has perfume as an ingredient. It doesn’t have an overwhelming scent at all, but if you don’t want any perfume on your makeup, stay away from this one.- Runs quite warm to be a neutral, which is perfect for me because I have yellow undertone and it matches me perfectly, but it may run too warm on neutral skin tones.I am sharing my honest and authentic opinion as a Sephora Beauty Insider Community Ambassador.

They say this is the correct color but now I look darker and yellow heavy. Before, it looked light with a golden glow.Overall, I’m mad because something that worked so well is now such an incredibly different product it’s unusable for me. It now leaves me with the unenjoyable task of having to spend weeks of trial and error and unnecessary money to find something comparable. The only positive to this stuff is maybe for people who like to do layers of makeup. This formula could potentially be okay if you’re in the habit of using multiple products like cream contours and such, or need a lot more coverage. I suppose. That’s not my every day though, and that’s not why I used this product for so long.

New Make-up forever HD liquid foundation - dreadful plus poor colour match
23 September 2022

I am an on screen TV presenter and since starting to film in high definition, this USED to be my go-to foundation, but I am desperately disappointed with the new formula for Make Up Forever's HD liquid foundation. It is horrible and sticky, thick, does not apply smoothly and the colour match was appalling. I used to use R300. I was advised by the company to match it to either 2N22 or 2R24 - unfortunately after checking online, I opted for 2N22, but it is far too yellow and not a good match at all. I was advised by a TV make up artist that Rimmel 24 hour lasting foundation would probably work as well as Make Up Forever - and it appears to. And is a much nicer colour. Very, VERY disappointed. Why discontinue a good thing? I used to love the old formula, it was beautiful and silky, lovely finish. This new formula is quite frankly horrible and I cannot wait until it is used up.

The reviews about the new formula were right
22 September 2022

I used the previous formula, Ulta HD, for years and loved it. When I saw it was replaced with HD Skin, I panicked and started reading the reviews and saw just about everyone saying it was a big downgrade from the previous formula. I figured it couldn’t possibly be that bad and bought the recommended shade. As much as I hoped all the negative reviews were wrong, they were not. The new formula doesn’t blend like the previous and took me a while to put on. It immediately started separating on my nose and around my mouth, so I washed those areas off and gave it another go. It went on smoother that go-around, but when I looked in the mirror hours later it was separated again. I never had this problem with the other formula, and that one took me two minutes tops to put on. It was so smooth and blendable. HD Skin also seems fuller coverage and gave me flashback of my horrible high school foundation days. This is all in addition to the fact that this shade went on very yellow and oxidized to a very festive orange. Again, never had that problem with Ultra HD. Long story short, I went to Sephora and spent weeks sampling foundation to find something close to the old formula. I settled on Estée Lauder Double Wear. It’s very similar but honestly better. It’s a little more matte and disguises pores better. My mom even commented on my face, saying it looked flawless. So, if you’re looking for a replacement and don’t have weeks to try samples, I’d recommend the Estée Lauder and not bother with this one.

Very disappointed!

I will start off by saying that the original Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation was my all-time favorite foundation. It was truly perfect; it made my face look airbrushed and clear, and my skin looked really good in photos. Not only that, the shade R300 was the only shade by far that truly matched my skin tone, and I cannot find a shade like it anywhere else, so I was willing to pay the $45. Now, the Undetectable foundation is supposed to be its replacement, but it is nothing of the sort! First of all, it's a lot more matte than the old formula, and shows every wrinkle and every pore on my face, which is the total opposite of what a foundation is supposed to do. It feels very cheap and dry and smells horrible. Secondly, the shades are completely different too. It feels very cheap and dry and smells horrible. Secondly, the shades are completely different too. The chart says that R300 Vanilla translates to 2N22, but Y325 also translates to 2N22, and when I wear it's definitely yellow and not red. Nothing else matches R300, which is very disappointing because that was the only shade that matched. Have you ever heard the saying "don't try to fix something that ain't broke"? I've never begged a company to bring back a product before, but here I am begging for you to bring back the original product. I can't even use the rest of it because my face looks better without it on. I have no choice now but to seek out alternatives, which is going to be very costly for me. This is very sad.

free product for review, still brutally honest

I have very mixed feelings about this foundation. The hydrating primer has a very thin consistency and a peachy color, but I don’t think it was pigmented enough to make a noticeable difference in evening skin tone. It was still very silky and decent at hydrating. It wasn’t pore filling, but I don’t look for that in a primer. This felt like a light weight moisturizer with some tackinessI tried this in the winter, which is when I have combo skin— very dry and somewhat oily in the T Zone. In the summer my skin is more normal to oily. I had a few active, larger red acne spots when trying this and some closed comedones. The shade was a perfect match for me, best match I’ve EVER found in a foundation. I really likely the consistency. I felt like I was wearing foundation, but it wasn’t extremely heavy or uncomfortable.I was IN LOVEEEE when I first applied the foundation. It looked so silky smooth and even with a natural glow. It looked very natural from up close. It looked exactly like the product photos. Foundation is buildable. It did not fully cover my active red acne after building. I personally dont think it was worth building a lot— it just adds more product without any additional or meaningful coverage benefit. It didn’t make my comedones look any worse than normal. It did a really good job overall, as I didn’t feel it enhanced my texture anymore than normal. My skin started feeling pretty itchy about an hour after application. I do have sensitive skin, but it wasn’t too excessive. I could feel that the active acne I had was irritated, which is abnormal for my typical routine. I noticed the foundation beginning to lose its original finish and it started settling in and showing more texture. This was an issue on my forehead and nose. These are not typical problem areas for me. For the rest of my face, the texture was typical of my normal go to foundations. I decided to powder with the givenchy prisme libre powder as it always smooths foundat
