As a former tradie using this for household purposes, it performs great. Easy blade changes, good mitre and bevel adjustments and the adjustable guide is included and works great. Only gripe is the trigger safety button. I cut with my left hand and it doesn’t work well to press that button and apply the trigger. A better or dual sided trigger safety would make this a 5 star saw for me.

I bought the ozito before, lasted only a week. This unit is much lighter and less noisy. As always fantastic brand; perfect for DIY projects at home. Well worth the extra cost.

I don’t normally write reviews but they helped me select this tool so I feel I need to give back. I chose the Makita 1200W to replace a GMC 1500W saw and to my surprise the Makita feels more powerful and much quieter. It is very accurate and glides easily over hardwood material particularly if you are using a saw guide. The only negative I found is the vertical degree indicator is a couple of degrees out so make sure you check this using a right angle square to get an accurate vertical cut. Otherwise I love it and definitely recommend this saw as good quality at this price point.

It cuts beautifully and effortlessly, but for me is really let down by the lack of any measurements on the base or guide rule / rip fence which means setting your cut width always requires getting out a measuring tool of some sort. Also, as there is a wing nut on both ends of the base plate to lock the angle of cut, you can't rest the saw vertically on the end of the base plate to make/set the measurement of your cutting width. In hindsight, I wish I had bought the Bosch Blue Corded 1400W 184mm Circular Saw GKS 140, as it has the measurements on the base plate and guide rule, and a flat end with no wing nut
Bought it about 1.5 months ago and it’s working great has enough power for my use. But I cannot get 90 degree angle and base is not adjustable in this model. Probably need to contact warranty.
I am a DIYer and this one was the first circular saw I have purchased in my life. So have no experience with other brands to compare with. But this one looks and feels very powerful to me. It cuts easily with no hassle. If I lose it today I will definitely buy the same thing tomorrow.
Hi guys,I bought this Makita saw yesterday and what i noticed that machine blade running backwards. Which i think not normal. Any of you have any idea? Can anyone let me know please is that normal or not? I didn't use yet.
What a brilliant little tool to have! Cut through melamine like butter. Used it to build an entire custom wardrobe - but had to buy a blade with more teeth.
I purchased this today and cut through many 50mm thick treated pine sleepers like a hot knife through butter. I was amazed at the power and accuracy of this saw. My cordless saw motor burnt out. Even when the cordless was brand new, using a 4MAh battery it was never as powerful/accurate as this corded saw. Love this thing. It made the job so much easier and quicker to complete.
Replaced my 10 year old version and while i the new one cuts hardwood like butter, the manufacturing precision isn't the same. The blade cuts 2mm outside the guide mark, the angle is a couple of degrees out when set on the 0 mark and the guide screw isn't flush so it moves the guide a few mm on the final tighten. These things were all perfect on my old Makita
