I'm a huge fan of Makita products and have been since 30 yrs ago when I started remodeling houses. I have opened a new off-road shop where I purchase 2 more Makita 1/4 drive and now this 1/2 in drive. Everyone in the shop agrees its worth every penny I spent on it. The impact is very strong and seems to last a long time on the 5a batteries. Its so nice moving around the shop without a air hose. The only down fall to the impact is the weight and size.. weighing in at 7.5 lbs it will wear you out if used in a extensive amount of time. I would say its size is a direct reflection of its strength. Other than that we have yet to find anything we don't like about it.. even the color is nice.

The impact wrench opens the rusted and hardest bolts with ease. At first it makes that loud knocking sound but it’s only loosening the stuck bolt.Buy it without looking for or comparing it with other impact wrenches

I bought this after having the metal housing on my 1/2 inch earthquake snap in two different places and after fighting the gun to continue to work until I got this. After about a week of using it I noticed a night and day difference, this is by far the most consistent with what I do. I like the fact that I can control the speed at which it operates and that I can shut off the light on it. Considering what my options were at the time of purchasing I am impressed with what this can do with an 18v battery. my earthquake had a 20v battery but didn't do nearly as well as this has. I love how I can go about 2 days on 1 5.0 amp hour battery before needing to recharge unlike my earthquake which needed to charge about mid day just to finish my shift. I’ve had this for a few months now and still look forward to using it. The modes are awesome for not over torquing lugs/bolts and reduce the chance of fasteners flying off and hitting something or someone. You can start slow enough to not have to worry about cross threading a lug which is a nice time saver. Lighter than I thought, more power than I expected and its built with the quality you’d expect from modern Makita tools.You’ll be glad you bought it, especially if you’re coming from a air powered tool.

Was surprise to receive a notice it would come sooner than expected (1/15/23). Used right away too. I have owned this impact wrench for about 2 years now. There is no fastener that this wrench has not been able to remove. I've used this wrench with a 6.0ah and 5.0ah battery and have not noticed any difference in power. I've used this to remove the most stubborn of Honda crank pulley bolts with ease. Another well built tool from Makita.
Good heavy duty impact. A lot of torque and really good on the larger bolts and lug nuts. Have to be careful on automotive lug nuts because of the high torque. Just a couple hits can stretch the threads real easy. I am going to get the next size smaller half inch drive Makita impact for automotive work. I tried to just touch the trigger on a 3/4 inch lug nut and the hammer only hit twice and it was over torqued. This wrench will do the job on 3/4, 5/8, and larger bolts easy. The hammer in it is smooth and surprisingly powerful. It is a great wrench heavy duty work but too strong for automotive.
First project I used this on was a big dock rebuild. Dock had major damage and needed something capable of putting in large long self tapping lag bolts to hold thick metal brackets. Dock is close to 200 feet long so not a small project. Putting in lots of lags was no problem at all and battery life was pretty good. Has plenty of power and I did not need to set to the strongest power position to get the job done. Note this is not a light weight unit like an impact driver..... this is an impact wrench.
Picked up this unit as I was tired of using air tools to swap out my tires a couple times a year, and love it. I swapped out the snow tires on five cars and trucks so far and the battery still hasn't even lost one light so hey that's pretty good in my books. Loads of power and torque, took the snow tires off and slammed on my summers on my 3/4 ton 4x4. The ONLY thing I really don't like is the forward and reverse switch I find are way to easy to bump and change. I cursed it many times this past month. People with big hands will have this issue, those with smaller hands might not have much problem. But other than that, great unit.
Thanks to Mikita for making such a great product. This hight impact wrench is worth every penny. CPO is $40 less than homedepot. I truly like it, I'm totally recommending it to anyone who wants this piece of charm.
