It does everything i need it to do. Battery life is good, enough power for the buffalo grass, which can get pretty thick and hard to cut. Didn't use to much line cutting. Perfect weight, I like it. Only used it once, but like what it did.

Have used the trimmer for around a month on a 1 hectare rural property. Have found the unit to be reliable and the light weight and low noise output as being a major bonus . Replacement of the cord can be best demonstrated via 'You Tube' because the supplied instructions are pretty hopeless. The 5.0Ah battery capacity lasts around 35min under full load and takes around 90 min to recharge. For the handyman I can happily recommend this unit.
Very easy to assemble and operate
I bought this trimmer to cut the lawn areas I can't get to with the lawnmower. It does this with ease and the battery lasts long enough to complete the job. It is not a brush cutter and does not have to be.
Easy to put together, works really well with good battery life. Add Makita 191D89-4 easy load spool and you have a much improved product. Overall - very pleased with product.
Battery lasts more than long enough. Cuts quite good. The line that you get is not very good and does not last long until it is finished, but there are many after market lines that fit and are 10000 times better. Good balance and weight.Low speed is ok for thin grass but it is best to use full speed.Does it have longevity? Not sure but hopeful.
I get more satisfaction with my 2 stroke Ryobi than this battery line trimmer. This Makita can cut but require some patient. The shield guard could have better design because Im getting so much debris up my legs and thinking about just removing it. Battery is good.
