I work in High-Voltage construction as a welder and this was purchased as a well lets see if it will work tool... And YES it does cutting everything that you would cut with a corded portaband never had any problems at all.. could use more batteries because you will not pull out a cord to cut anything that you can cut with a portaband...Have to buy 2 more my fellow employees are using this one nonstop too.

This band saw seems like its cutting quite slow but even with the metal blade on when cutting timber it flys thru with ease, like most tradies I couldn't help myself but to put it to the test and this band saw didn't slow down at all, Cant wait to use this onsite

As a fire sprinkler-fitter I use this for everything from all-thread rod, angle iron, unistrut, 1"-8" sch 10-40 steel pipe. Very convenient in large warehouses, service calls requiring in air cuts, or anywhere really.

A little bit heavy but not more so than a 120V portaband saw.
Dependable with a good battery.Not like the other brands that have a dead battery every time you pick them up.
Great when just a few cuts are necessary and you don't have to get out the Cords. Wish I had it years ago.

This saw works great for most electrical and construction work. I've had good luck with all the LiOn tools from Makita.
I use my band saw to cut all tread rod, angle iron, pipe, strut, and S&D. I like the light, also like the way the saw will set on large upper handle and guard.
Since I bought this tool, sawzall is working part time. Smooth EMT cut. Clean. No vibration, steady run. Great tool. It's been a year since I was looking for this tool to be on sale.
