Biscuit joints were made without sloppy fitting biscuits, a problem with my cheap machine, and were accurately placed, another problem with my cheap machine.the only negative is with the fence. Although accurate it has to be removed when placing Biscuits vertically in the centre of a panel, with the adjustment being made via a knob working a rack and pinion, with the cogwheel being made of nylon, this might lead to premature wear if the fence is removed and replaced frequently.

The tool itself is working fine, however a dust extraction collector is a really badly designed unfinished element because if you connect it to the dust extractor the collctor end which connects the tool with dust extractor becomes loose and is likely to fell off from the tool base, no it's more, it just fells off if you accidentally pull it!

Excellent biscuit joiner. I wanted cordless and so far this ticks all the boxes. It’s relatively light in weight, easy to handle and accurate. I already have some Makita Cordless gear so this was an easy choice for me. Worth paying a bit more for the convenience of cordless and quality of Makita - and made in the UK!

Excellent little machine

Bought this and was amazed at how quiet it is compared to a lamello. I work in a professional furniture making workshop and this tool has exceeded my expectations. This may not be the most powerful tool but there again it is a battery powered tool. Breezes through MDF like a hot knife through butter. I would recommend to use extraction as the small bag supplied gets filled up very quickly overall a gem of a buy would recommend

First time user

No previous experience with a biscuit joiner but very impressed with the quality of this tool. A tiny bit expensive I think but not sorry in any way with this purchase. Would definitely recommend. Only criticism would be catching fingers as one slides in the body towards the jig.

Makita DPJ180Z 18v LXT Cordless Biscuit Jointer Body Only

A very high quality tool as one would expect from Makita. Nicely weighted and well built. Only criticism for which I have no idea as to how Makita could rectify. You can trap your hand / fingers as the body slides towards the jig. Index marks are clearly displayed and help make placement easy. Happy to have purchased even if slightly pricier than it deserves when compared to other Makita LXT tools. Would highly recommend.

Makita so good brand but has a major flaw

The fence needs to be removed to do plunge cuts, that means any depth setting is lost,Buy the 'yellow one' even if that means you have to buy a battery & charger, the fence just flips up making plunging easy & when flipped back down the depth setting is still there. 0 chance of loosing the fence also.

Nice machine

I order Makita manday and now friday biscuit joiner is here Finland. Well done. Machine is well made and silent. Makita make groove 4,10mm - 4,20mm. Lamello biscuit what i order is abaut 3,80mm. So little hysteresis. Axmister tell that speed is 10000 rpp but rigth speed is 6500 rpm. So little lie that Axmister tell. Well new blade and groove is still clean.

Precision biscuits - nicey

Bought this as a bit of a luxury toy. But it's a game changer for joining. So easy to adjust settings and use. Made the process more enjoyable than eating a packet of chocolate hobnobs

Pricey but good quality.

I’ve only used this a handful of times but so far it’s performing well. The dust bag collects the dust so well that I don’t bother connecting the dust extractor. It’s quiet and easy to adjust. I looked at cheaper, corded options but I Know i’d end up wanting the cordless version eventually so I’d rather just buy once. It’s expensive but you know what you’re getting with Makita.
