Great little machine - I did my entire back garden with two 3000mAHr batteries that are not new. No issue with running out of power. The area is about 20m by 8m. Batteries were on 4 bars at start, two bars at end.It's fair to say that you don't get the same power with a cordless battery machine compared to a petrol, but apart from some long heavy wet grass, there was no issue (in fact my petrol mower would probably have stalled on the same patch)The height control is good. You can raise it up quite high if you need to hack down long grass in a couple of passes (start high, then go lower).Basically, a good choice if you already use Makita batteries. If you had to buy them specifically for just this mower, then the price might be a bit high

Extremely pleased with the purchase of my Makita twin 18v LXT lawnmower, especially after using a heavy petrol model for the last few years. With the Makita name for quality, the mower is so lightweight, it makes manoeuvring it easy in comparison with my old mower. It cuts my lawn with ease which makes the job so much quicker. BRILLIANT LAWNMOWER

Well made product & very robust as expected from Makita. Like other contributors, I already owned Makita cordless tools and didn't need to purchase batteries or charger which saved me a fortune. The product is easy to assembly and breaks down for convenient storage under my shed bench. Easy monouvering when cutting grass & leaves a superior finish to my lawn. I enjoy not having to keep moving electric cables & extensions which are also a trip hazard, & also the time saved. My only niggle is that the cable from the switch to the machine (cable clips) are useless & fall off.

Don’t waste your money

Bought this thinking being Mikita it would be quality but unfortunately it’s not. I have around 65m2 of lawn and had this mower for approximately 6 months and the rear wheel axle where the height adjustment snapped off as it was poorly welded. Took it back to Bunnings and instead of a one for one replacement it was sent back to Mikita with an approximate repair time of anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months!!!Do yourself a favour and give this product a wide berth!!!

Great Makita mower

Very happy with this lawn mower. Have cut my 110 sq m buffalo lawn twice since purchasing it. First time when the grass was dry. Used only 1 bar of each 5 Ah battery. The second time was when the grass was longer and a little damp. Used 2 bars. No problems cutting the grass but the catcher is quite small, so will need emptying 2 more times compared to a typical petrol lawn. However this is not an issue for me, considering all the other benefits such as low noise, low weight, easy manoeuvrability, no more struggling with starting...One benefit which I don't see mentioned by other reviewers is that compared to a petrol lawn mower, the electric lawn mower kick up very little grass clippings and dirt. Just make sure you have at least 5 Ah batteries to ensure the electric motor is getting the optimum amperage.One last thought. If you are regularly mowing overgrown grass or over rough terrain, then this mower is not the right one for the job.

Makita DLM382Z 18V / 36V LXT Cordless Lawnmower 380mm Bare Unit

Quality mower . Well built but still very light and easy to manoeuvre.So much so , now the wife does the mowing.Handles cutting 150m2 plus off lawn on one charge . Doesn’t like really long grass so have to do 2 passes , but this was the case with my old plug in mower .Still really impressed with the capability would totally recommend to anyone thinking off replacing their old plug in .

💥👌👀The machine is really good 👀💥👍. It's very easy to adjust up or down. It's blades turn so fast that even the long seed stems get precisely cut . Does not drop any mess , everything it chops ends up in the easy to maneuver basket .I cannot fault this mower at all.Designers have obviously tested and thought of everything. Which to be fair is unusual but not for makita. 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Powerful Cordless Lawn Mower!

Makita DLM382Z cordless lawn mower which is compatible and works well with 18V 5AH (2x batteries). It's a powerful machine yet quiet lawn mower. It was very quick and easy to put together and feels really solid, and fantastically simple to push around my garden. You can feel that this is a MAKITA! (Makita's good reputation).It's easy to keep, just fold handle together.

Quiet but doesnt cut grass

This is easily the worst purchase i have ever made. Worse than thay old nokia phone. Yes the nokia phone doesnt cut grass, but it does allow you to make phone callls. This does neither. Unless your mowing your lawn weekly, it does not have the power to cut through the grass. It constantly stops meaning you have clear the grass which does not feed to the back of the catcher. I am forever stopping the lawn mower, pushing the cut grass to the back of the catcher and than proceeding. A number of times i have mowed my lawns twice. The first time on level 5 to make it a little easier when i then try and cut it on a level 4. Please do yourself a favour and not buy this machine.

Strong performer for 2+ years on large block

We have had this mower for 2+ years and it is phenomenal. We are on a 950m block so have a decent lawn area, and we can get it all done on a single battery charge (except during spring growth season if we let it get an extra week or 2’s growth… it needs a top-up charge then!)The mower picks up everything well - even deals with “dog eggs” neatly, and is MUCH lighter weight than our previous petrol mower (we have terraced lawns, so lifting mower is necessary).The only disconcerting thing about the mower is how quiet it is - battery power means it feels/sounds like you’re vacuuming the lawn rather than mowing it!
