Works well but built weak. This is far from heavy duty. I’ve had 3 motors fail on me now which is very disappointing from Makita. I’m probably going to cease buying Makita from this point. Such an expensive tool should not be so weakly designed. The rotor of the motor is connected to the shaft with very thin aluminium webs which shear off too easily when you hit a rock while brush cutting. I always try not to hit rocks, but it’s an unavoidable part of brush cutting. The tool should be built to withstand this for so much money.

Fantastic bushcutter. Very powerful, easy to use, quiet and it is much lighter than my old petrol machine. One thing of note is that the battery charger is rather loud - though it was faulty but other review state the same issue. Used this product to cut thick grass and weeds for over an hour with no need to recharge! Would highly recommend this product.
Fairly light and well balanced using the strap. Powerful enough for heavy duty work. 40 min battery life is enough for my needs. Minor point is that putting it together is a bit of a faff and likewise changing from the nylon line to the cutting plate. Overall a very good tool.
I have a large garden so was looking for something lightweight, not petrol but doesn't need an extension lead - this ticked all the boxes! I have only used the nylon string so far but dead easy to fit and does extend itself out unlike other cheaper products. Now I have the batteries and charger I guess that makes me a Makita boy - looking forward to my next purchase!
I brought this a week ago so far im happy with it its quite an expensive snipper, I have both ends of the scale i have the least powerful and this monster i used it for the first time today just a little snip i would almost call this professional grade i wouldnt use this on small propertys only mid size+ because its quite bulky with the bull horns ill update after owning for a couple months.. best thing is got a free blower via redemption x2 5amp batterys, twin charger im gonna go buy the brush cutter blade aswell
Powerful and quiet garden tool
I am very happy with this. Bought it as a gift for my husband and he is also pleased. I was a bit unsure when reading the reviews if it would be worth the money, but I have no regrets. We live on a rural property and it handles the tough grasses too.
Powerful and excellent for the first 1.5 times I used it. Then it came apart. Tiny part went missing when it came apart suddenly whilst using it and have heard nothing from Bunnings after asking for replacement part. Would highly recommend if it didn’t come apart.
