Never used one before but they are not high powered tools like a replacement for angle grinders, saws, jig saws, or SDS attachments etc but it has it's niche for use in certain jobs and a lot of different places harder to get to. Definitely been useful (for the price) so far and I can see ways of using it later.Like all Makita gear it is built like a tank. The quick release fitting makes it quick and easy to swap tools.Delivery is quick too.

I just bought this tool and used it later the same day and its excellent!I have used it to cut out a width of plaster board using one of the blades from the Erbauer Multi-Material Cutting Blade Set I bought and for my first time of using such a tool it was brilliant and the results exceeded my high expectations.I went for the corded version as I didn't want to be tied with having to charge batteries, but I do have cordless Makita Drills which have been excellent - but felt as I will be cutting floor tiles that I wanted continuous power and of course my budget dictated this model. One point that I had to email ScrewFix for was around the carry case where in the Q&A there is some confusion - so I am pleased to say the Multi Tool does indeed come in the usual ...Β MoreI just bought this tool and used it later the same day and its excellent!I have used it to cut out a width of plaster board using one of the blades from the Erbauer Multi-Material Cutting Blade Set I bought and for my first time of using such a tool it was brilliant and the results exceeded my high expectations.I went for the corded version as I didn't want to be tied with having to charge batteries, but I do have cordless Makita Drills which have been excellent - but felt as I will be cutting floor tiles that I wanted continuous power and of course my budget dictated this model. One point that I had to email ScrewFix for was around the carry case where in the Q&A there is some confusion - so I am pleased to say the Multi Tool does indeed come in the usual Makita case with a posh little wallet to store the blades!

I bought this recently and decided that I couldn't justify the cordless version. It is great. Cutting power is awesome and pretty accurate. Great value and I would highly recommend. The only criticism I have is that changing the bladed is a little bit fiddly.

I purchased a similar machines a few days ago at Leroy Merlin. From the AEG brand, it was a few Euros cheaper. It only lasted about two minutes, after which the power button got stuck and I couldn't use it anymore. I took it back to Leroy Merlin and they took it back without issue. The same day, I ordered on ManoMano and was delivered the product very quickly (48 hours). The machine works perfectly and the power button can be used to stop the machine without having to be held down. You can also change the speed, which wasn't an option on the AEG. Finally it makes a lot less noise. It's a really great machine. As a bonus, the hardtop case they provide to store the blades is great. PS I would have loved to see a clipping system for the blades. Finally it makes a lot less noise. It's a really great machine. As a bonus, the hardtop case they provide to store the blades is great. PS I would have loved to see a clipping system for the blades. This was the case on the AEG and it didn't required an allen wrench. PPS: Just for information, Bosch blades can be used on it without any issues, you don't need an adaptor. I hope my comment will help you decide.
Bought to replace a German supermarket multitool which outlived it's 3yr warranty despite hard use, but with a PCB which eventually burned out. Chose the TM3010C for it's tool-free blade change, universal blade fitting without an adaptor (unlike DeWalt and Bosch), and a robust case. Bonus features - a decent length of real rubber cable and a case which neatly integrates pockets for at least seven blades. Too new to score durability but experience of an old Makita cordless combi drill instills confidence.
It does make life easy. It does jobs that would have been murderous doing by hand into a quick and easy job. Skirting board trapped behind a radiator pipe - not any longer, Need to fit some flooring around that radiator pipe - cuts it like a dream. I am surprised at how many jobs I find that would have been difficult without it.Really good at any smallish, awkward sawing job. Really happy I bought it.
This is a great tool, supplied in a sturdy blow molded makita case, it certainly looks and feels the part. In the hand it feels hefty with a good build quality to it, a good length of power cable was enough for the job in hand. The quick change mechanism gives you confidence when changing blades. I found it fiddly at first but that was Erbauer blades I had. When seated there was no movement. Overall a recommended buy.
It does exactly what the rest of the multitools do, cant see any working difference between this and my previous brands which is a good thing. The difference that does make a difference is the method for holding blades. I can use cheap blades not the expensive starlock blades that fein and bosch now do. You go through a lot of blades when you hit nails, brickwork, metal debris in chipboard , cutting hard vinyl etc etc. I like the quick change mechanism, it is just as quick as others and I feel it's a better grip.
I choose to buy the Makita multi tool for the following reasons is easy on the grip to control cutting, the brand has a quality and reliability especially with the metal gearbox and the no tool changing of blades is a must. Despite other reviews the vibration from the machine is not an issue. The tool is quieter in operation than I expected. The only issue is the case as mentioned before, it could be better designed for the lead to fit. The reliability got 4 stars as its too early to assess, however if its anything like the makita drill I have it should stand up to a lot of work and a bit of abuse and still be robust
Good solid feeling bit of kit. As it's corded it was a lot cheaper than buying cordless but not a problem for me to use it with an extension lead. Easy change bits which are universal unlike some makes. Comes in a decent sized box which incorporates a slide out container for the different blades you can get. Works a treat so for me a good buy.
