This 40V replacement battery for Makita tools is not bad for the price as the OEM version cost well over $100. The battery came mostly charged(about 80% maybe) and took not much more time to charge it to maximum capacity. I wasn’t really paying attention to the charge time, so I’m not sure how long it actually took to charge to 100%. As for the quality and durability of the battery, it is more difficult to tell since I’ve only had the chance to use it for a couple of days. The battery seems to hold a charge fairly well. Bought quite a few Makita compatible batteries but they don't last and I killed last two on the Makita fast charger. The genuine Makita 5ah batteries charge from empty to full in 45 mins on the Makita charger. My first battery was a Makita (second hand with a little selection of Makita tools from my Son-in-law 5yrs ago) and is still going strong. I've gone through 6 compatible batts during that time all now deceased. Decided this time to replace with genuine.

Great battery for me and it worked great!

I got this battery for use on a Makita 14 inch chainsaw. I made few cuts with different thicknesses of branches and small trees and I had lots of juice still left! I eventually used the fast charger and it was approx. 45 minutes to fully charge! For me, it was a great buy and like other reviewers, try to get them on when they go on sale!

Great price if they are a legit Makita product.

When I ordered the batteries, I thought they were going to arrive in factory sealed packaging. The price was great, but when I seen it arrive in a cardboard box and they were in a plastic wrapper in that, I thought, crap, another counterfeit battery purchase that won't last.I had bought cheaper batteries like this before, that looked exactly like the Makita brand, the writing, serial numbers all the info, just like my originals, but those were counterfeit. So this is what I thought I just bought here. Now presuming I am a bit wiser, I looked up the tell tale signs of a genuine Makita battery. These passed the ID test. Love them especially when on sale

Saved $100 buying on black friday sale. I look for genuine batteries as really it's hard to tell these days if you have purchased a knock off. Would buy again when reduced as expensive. Great product, last long time between charge and happy with the weight. We have various amp size Makita batteries to fit many of our Makita products.

Low quality batteries with false capacity.

These batteries are advertised as 6 Mah. I purchased them because the main photo was of a battery with 4 LED charge indicators. Instead, I received batteries with 3 LED charge indicators. I did not want them because the ones I have had are of poor quality and don't hold a charge very well. The genuine 6 Mah batteries I have last about 12-15 minutes in my blower on high speed. These last about 5 minutes. I advise that anyone who wants good batteries shop for those with 4 LED indicators and ask about the batteries you will receive before purchasing. I no longer buy batteries here because there are to many sellers of low-quality products..

Makita BL1850 18v LXT 5.0Ah Li-Ion Battery

Purchased to go with my split shaft Multi Function Power Head, the battery charges pretty quickly and bar indicator shows the state of charge and amount of power left. I’ve not had it very long, but from my experience using it with a brush cutter tool fitted with a steel blade, the battery seems to last around 30-40 minutes when worked hard on full power. I’m sure this will improve when used with a strimmer head under more normal circumstances, but I’d say its advisable to have a spare battery or two just in case.

I've been at TSCo often and never noticed their Makita products. I found this out by accident while searching the Makita website. For me it was Makita or Milwaukee. Milwaukee makes a good product, but the options for the different tools I can use on the Makita platform is what sold me on Makita. Renewing my Makita collection

Replacing my 12v drill with 18v and 40v items. More power, longer batt life. The 40v driver drill is a beast. Makita's decision to put the fwd/reverse switch where it is was not optimum, your thumb/forefinger keeps changing its position.Also got the tire inflator, reciprocating saw, 18v driver drill.
