Surprised to see "made in the USA" written on it, not sure why that isn't worth a mention in the description? Build quality and ergonomics both quite good, and it seems at least 50% more powerful than an old made in Japan Ryobi 200w orbital that is now destined for the nature strip. The Makita is my first 'random' orbital, and it's a night and day difference compared to a regular orbital! Stock removal is great, no swirl marks, quite good life from the discs (the grit doesn't really clog up at all), speed control works quite well - you can turn it right down. The stack of discs that came with it are actually quite good, probably better than the flexovit bulk pack I bought with it. Even without a vacuum hooked up to it, you don't get a while lot of dust (for small jobs at least) as it seems to pull a pretty good vacuum thru the dust holes and into the little filter cartridge. Doesn't hold much, but it's effective, and comes good with a bang, a shake and a blow out.
