I am buying more and more Makita tools and batteries and sometimes a single charger isn't enough to keep up with the work. This charger is quite big and weighty but feels well made. The charging is quick and can be set to play different tunes to differentiate between the batteries being charged. There is also a usb output which is handy for charging phones etc. I have registered all my tools on the Makita website which extends the warranty to 3 years. I am not sure if this charger is covered by the extension but I will visit the Makita site to check.

I actually received this miter saw as a gift but would buy it again and again. This little 10” miter will cut through anything all day long. It’s small enough to work perfect in small environments and powerful enough to tackle some of the biggest jobs. Makita has been one of my favorite brands and after this miter saw, I’ll probably be sticking with them.

Cons:Laser stopped working after 2 monthsDust collection is the worst among top brands. Dual port is poorly designed and gets clogged on every job.Large diameter base makes the saw difficult to carry. No Led lights, Laser is not a substitute.Cumbersome adjustment knobsPros:Very Smooth sliding mechanismBase/fence is well madeVerdict.Better than average, but far from letting design engineers to take pride for their creation.

A long time ago I started out with a cheap Ryobi 10 inch chop saw. I later moved up to a Hitachi 8 1/2 inch sliding compound miter saw. After 30 years of using the Hitachi, I decided to sell it and move up one more notch to this nice saw. I'm still trying to figure out the best dust collection setup...but overall, I'm extremely happy with this purchase. Smooth as silk and much quieter than my Hitachi and Ryobi.
Great mitre saw, I love using it in the workshop daily! Once setup it keeps producing accurate cuts and every adjustment feels solid and robust. Very well made. It’s pretty heavy but lives in my workshop permanently so I wouldn’t recommend it as a site saw to lug in and out of the van! Few small niggles - laser isn’t as good as the festool but I don’t really use it and it’s half the price so you’d expect some negatives. The other thing is the black side pull outs are non removable it seems, which is slightly annoying as mine is built into my workshop benches and when they are pushed it, they are about 1/2mm higher then the metal bed so can produce inaccurate cuts if not removed or pulled out all the way! Everything else on this is great, having previously used the ... MoreGreat mitre saw, I love using it in the workshop daily! Replacing a Makita LS1013. This 1019 has so many seemingly smart features, but I had to return it for the following reasons: 1) The motor was chattering when trying to cut a 3/4" thick oak threshold. Obviously unacceptable. 2) It supposedly weighs only 2lbs more than the yellow one that I ended up going with, but it feels 15-20lbs heavier. The way that the weight is distributed makes it really difficult to carry. The DWS779 is a comparative breeze to lift and carry even though it's basically the same weight. 3) One of the holes on the base of the saw, for mounting to stand brackets, collapsed before I even got the nut tight. The metal cracked. Not what I expect from a top-brand tool. I also really don't care for the fence design. I knew that one had to completely ... MoreReplacing a Makita LS1013. I knew that one had to completely remove the fences for bevel cuts, but still....who wants that?
This saw is leagues ahead of my previous one. Super accurate cuts out of the box. Checked blade was at 90° vertical and on full extension. One annoyance is the high fence doesn't sit flush with the lower fence so I added some tape to bring it level.
I purchased a Makita LS1019L 260mm 10" Double Bevel Slide Compound Mitre Saw with Laser.I'm Very pleased and impressed with my purchase, the saw is very precise very quiet quite compact for its size, there was little to none setting up the saw as its almost spot on straight from the factory.coupled with a dust extractor it is brilliant hardly any mess, having a soft start is a bonus no nasty grab at the blade, the laser is very useful slightly hard to see in bright sunlight but hey what laser is any good in bright sunlight, it can be used tight up to a wall with having fixed tubes for the saw to slide on great when your working in small rooms ect. all in all i love this new addition to my tool kit.I can highly recommend this saw you wont be dissapointed.
Was a bit out of alignment when i first bought it a year ago. But i just recently adjusted it for square and its been wonderful ever since. Retractable fence still sits 1/32 back from solid back plate which is always a makita gripe but its square. Great saw. Dust collection bag is a joke. Vacuum attachment is nice. I took all black plastic hose attachments off and just let the dust fly by the fan out the window. Doesnt get much better than this machine. Certainly not for the money.
I went to Axminster with the intention of buying a mitre saw that you didnt need much space behind so I could get it close to the wall, I was thinking Festool. Then I saw the Makita saw and it fit the bill at just over half the price. I was really pleased a most of my tools are Makita and they are all well made robust and reliable. i bought it and took it home and set it up after reading the manual. my first cut was a bit off i looked it over, checked a few things and cut again it was not a straight cut. how can a mitre saw not cut straight? so I extended it to its furthest reach and did a chop cut not using the slide then I did a cut with it fully retracted and they never matched up there was a few degree angle in the middle. i did a few other cuts and they were all ...
