Purchased this helmet for its beautiful jade color at first, but after using it for all-day outdoor climbing this season, it has truly impressed me with its comfort and ventilation. It can be adjusted easily and smoothly by twisting the wheel at the back. Came with a second pair of paddings in the package. It is a few grams heavier than Mammut Wall Rider or BD Vapor, but it is still very lightweight that sometimes you forget it's there. It has been accidentally dropped on rocks, but I was surprised to find that it didn't leave any marks, whereas my friend's Vapor helmet got dents everywhere.

I have used a number of helmets over the years for work and for personal ventures. I currently own a BD Vision helmet as well. I prefer this helmet greatly.Despite the BD having a partial shell and this helmet has a full shell (although this), the Sender is lighter than the Vision.I have ALWAYS favored dial suspension adjustment systems over sliders. Sliders give my OCD a meltdown and they can “poke” you if uneven. This is probably the best dial I’ve encountered. The older Petzl ones were notorious for pulling your hair when they would get caught in the teeth. This dial on the Sender is enclosed and does not do this. Additionally, it’s a fine tooth dial which can get pretty granular all while adjusting EVENLY.When it comes to padding, this lid came with an extra ... MoreI have used a number of helmets over the years for work and for personal ventures. The cherry on top, the inner foam has a circular cutout to accommodate the DESPICABLE HEADACHE CAUSING BALL atop your ballcap. Zero pain. Wonderful.10/10. Mammut reins supreme, yet again.

Couldn't ask for a better helmet, very comfortable, easy to adjust and really light. The light side means it's great for long days on the rock walls or hanging at the crag. It also fits really nicely under helmet compatible layers like goretex jackets or mid layers with hoods. I broke one in my luggage coming back from the Alps, the foam broke on the side, probably from being shoved too hard in a compact bag. I just bought another without hesitating.

Bought this helmet at the start of last summer and it was amazing throughout the season. Comfortable fit with the swappable padding sizes. Easily adjustable straps and tightness for those days where wearing a hood is needed. Not the lightest but if youre just going to the crags for the day its a great buy.
I had read a few reviews about this helmet where people had said the helmet cracked, but I assumed they had just been rough on the helmet so I went ahead and bought it.Within the first two crag sessions, the helmet cracked in the back completely through the dense foam. It wasn’t from a fall, but from transit. I definitely wasn’t abnormally rough with the helmet so it’s quite unfortunate that this happened because I love how lightweight the helmet is.
This helmet offers a rare complement of being very lightweight and also very featured. Of special note is the ratchet adjustment system, which I find much more user-friendly and effective than other systems. It is comfortable and the headlamp straps/clips function well. The helmet's weight and cutouts also mean that it is very breathable which, coupled with its color, makes it very cool, even in prolonged direct sunlight.
This helmet is awesome. It's lightweight but still offers decent protection for the breathability and weight. It's basically a thin plastic shell over a foam interior. I get that it's for weight but the plastic seems more delicate than other similarly constructed helmets. The plastic also marks easy which is weird. The webbing can take a bit of time to adjust so it doesn't run over your ears but it's really not that difficult.Overall, a really well-made helmet. This is up there with other lightweight foam constructions.
Really lightweight and comfortable helmet and unlike my old one actually looks good too. I struggle to find good looking helmet so my head doesn’t look like a big mushroom and I think this is it. I hope I won’t have to find out if it offers good protection but knowing Mammut I don’t need to worry about it. I also like it has a light attachment for the early morning walk on the crag
I've been climbing for over 50 years and used/worn a lot of helmets. In the 60's they were really klunky, heavy, thick, and tended to spin on your head falling forward covering your eyes. In the 70's and 80's only beginners, nerds and ice climbers used them. (Real men, etc. etc.) and the "brain buckets" hadn't changed much... In the 90's as Ice became more popular, the manufacturers took heed, with the Europeans setting the standard. Early 2000's super light foams made the scene in bicycling and climbing helmets as did more and more climbers and screaming whippers so even the Hard Men and Women could justify wearing crash hats. I am still climbing and wearing a Mammut Helmet and also use mine when riding my bike.
you'll need one! good inexpensive, well made lid, light enough and cool enoug to be used for all day cragging n tall walls. seems to do fine when i smack it around on the outside of my bag aswell, which is rockstar. good for folks who plan on using a helmet for its intended purpose (getting hit with rocks) which i assume is all us climbers. ah well...
