A fantastic harness

Over the years I've had a number of Black Diamond and Petzl harnesses. This one beats them hands down. It feels so light, like you're almost wearing nothing/ Before this I has been sceptical that 50 or 100g here or there in a harness made a difference, but it somehow does. But more importantly, even though it feels like you are wearing nothing, it somehow is the most comfortable harness I've worn. Taking falls, or hanging when you are trying to work out the next sequence, or belaying, it is just really really comfortable, with no individual pressure points. My partner, who got one after she had tried on mine, noted that it doesn't cause the same pressure in her hips like other harnesses do.I'm not a big reviewer, but I think this is such a great product that I ... MoreOver the years I've had a number of Black Diamond and Petzl harnesses. I probably could have gotten away with buying a medium since I usually wear 32W pants in most brands minus a couple of high ends. So I was worried the Medium would have been small if I had added layers. So I ordered a Large. It’s not to big but the Sender has a retention band on the back of the adjustable(waist) clasp to allow the access to be stowed away which works. Great feel, super comfortable, great functionality, pre-shaped gear loops are perfect, adjustments are smooth/easy to use with gloves, and all around a great addition to anyone’s gear bag. 10/10 would recommend.

This is a very comfortable harness with a good set of features. The front gear loops do a good job at feeding quickdraws as you climb, and the rear ones feel comfortable with a backpack on and reduce the weight without reducing functionality too much. The split webbing seems to split into 2 sections in the leg loops and waistband, which distributes load a bit worse than the 3 section webbing you sometimes see, but allows for better breathability, and it contours over bony parts of my body better. It's not necessarily less comfortable than 3 section webbing, it's just a different feel. Compared to my black diamond harnesses, the buckle is smoother and there's a higher degree of waistband adjustability.

Great product! Lightweight and versatile.

Great product! Lightweight and versatile. I use it 2-3 times a week for sport climbing or multipitch and thanks to the reinforced plastic ring it lasts a very long time!

In general, super comfortable. Got
1 July 2022

In general, super comfortable. Got this in XS, and I wear XS in the Ophir 3 Slide Women.I would have liked a ladies version, or at least have the option to extend the elastics going to the leg loops a bit longer since they ride up as is at the longest length.I would say the regular type of adjustable leg loops or the non-adjustable ones are more comfortable compared to the fast-adjust (where the straps are sewn into the leg loops dig into the side of the thighs, so longer leg loop padding would probably help instead if it has to be fast-adjust)

It's a good product. But...
19 September 2022

It's a good product. But Backcountry sent me a defective product. There is no big problem using it, but I don't feel good.1. As shown in the attached photo, I sent the product with cracked plastic surrounding the gear loop.2. I definitely ordered a new product, but the pouch is contaminated as if you sent me a used product.I want to exchange the product, but it's difficult, so I'm just going to use it.

One of the best
20 March 2023

I probably tried more than a dozen of different harnesses. This is definitely the best one!The fit is great, the harness is flexible, shaping around your waist but still very supportive. It is on the light side, quite skinny but still comfortable to wear. I might need to do multi pitch to fully judge this aspect. The gear loop are slightly de-centred, which means that you do not need to fully close it to have the gear loop to perfectly line with your body. There are so many details that makes this harness the best of the bunch. The “wearing” warning, the protective plastic for the loop, the small elastic band to hold the extra comfort material in front of the harness (difficult to explain). The extra howl on the back for your chalk bag.The design is superb. I was ... MoreI probably tried more than a dozen of different harnesses. I had to downside to have a good fit.To sun up, it’s a sport climbing harness that might suit many new trad climbers with the 5 small gear loop.

So comfortable I could fall asleep
19 May 2023

As the title says, this harness is EXTREMELY comfortable. All it took was two minutes of adjusting the leg loops and now when I fall it doesn’t scrape against my legs like the rental harnesses at my gym do. I’ve only used rentals and this one, but it also feels light.

Super comfortable
8 June 2022

I love this harness. It’s a huge upgrade in my opinion from my black diamond solution harness. The solution feels super stiff compared to this harness, even with my solution being 2 years old. The front gear loops on this do a great job keeping QuickDraws in a nice front loaded position. My only two complaints are with the tie in loops, and leg adjustment buckles. The tie in loops are really small, and with my PAS and rope attached, it’s pretty crowded. The leg adjustment buckles are difficult to manipulate so I try not to adjust them if I can help it.

This waistband is more comfortable
18 April 2022

This waistband is more comfortable than all of my other harnesses, but the leg loops can ride up at times. The colour is beautiful, and it really is a breathable design.I only wished I got a medium instead of a large. The sizing chart might be off because my measurements should be for the large. However, it may be due to the stretchiness of the harness.Overall, this is a solid harness with vibrant colours and extra comfort. I use the front loops for my heavy gear. The back loops seem less strong than the orange loops, but they have also been able to carry a number of gear!
