I've purchased both the Manfrotto Pixi Evo tripod and the smaller Pixi Smart Mini from B&H. Both are very well-made, sturdy little tripods, but I prefer the Evo.The Mini's height is a fixed 5 inches, but the Evo's legs are extendible, and can be operated in two modes, wide and narrow, giving the tripod a height varying from 4 to almost 8 inches. At every height, the Evo's feet cover a bit more area than the Mini, so that the Evo provides more stability. The Evo will also support more than twice as much weight (5.5 lb) as will the Mini (2.2 lb).For use only with a cell phone, the Mini is probably more than adequate, but to support a more substantial compact camera, the Evo will prove more flexible. I have many tripods, quite a few of which are made by Manfrotto that I like very much. I was attracted to the PIXI Evo 2 mainly because it has a slot in the ball head that allows you to rotate the camera to portrait mode, which the standard PIxi (which I have and like) cannot do. First of all, this tripod is rather large for a table top tripod, being substantially chunkier than the standard Pixi. This extra bulk doesn't really provide much more capability, but does provide a stronger ball head than the Pixi to accomodate a larger camera. But the real weakness of this tripod are the legs. They can extend a few inches, but this feature comes at the price of stability. The leg extensions are fairly flexible plastic, and they are not attached firmly to the metal part of ... MoreI have many tripods, quite a few of which are made by Manfrotto that I like very much. The leg extensions are fairly flexible plastic, and they are not attached firmly to the metal part of the legs, which makes the whole assembly springy and loose. This is combined with a two position leg angle stop that is made of plastic, which adds to the springiness of the whole tripod. When I mounted my camera and gently pushed down on it, the whole thing compressed like a spring and bounced back up when I released it. I often use a table top tripod where a normal tripod is not allowed, but pushing it against a convenient wall for a long exposure, and this tripod is just too flexible for that. I ended up returning it and I suggest you avoid it.

Overall disappointed in the quality of the item. The plastic construction feels very cheap in the hand. Overall most of the connections are very lose and therefore the tripod rattles excessively. It does serves its purpose. If you want a small, cheap, plastic tripod this is the item for you BUT if you want small quality tripod look elsewhere.

I won this mini tripod in a Wex competition. I've got and use lots of Manfrotto equipment, professionally and as a hobbyist.I used this mini tripod the first time today with a brand new Nikon Z7ii on the top. No special or demanding shoot - just a family get together pic.Moments after unscrewing it from the base of the camera the centre bolt that screws in to the underside of a camera detached from the tripod, the little grey tightening wheel dropped out and there can only have been the smallest c-clip or similar holding it all together.I'm grateful it didn't fall to bits 5 minutes earlier or I'd have been a very unhappy photographer with a broken tripod AND a smashed up 1 week old Z7ii.Beyond this issue its clunky, rattly, plasticky, generally rough.Maybe I ... MoreI won this mini tripod in a Wex competition. I've gone back to its predecessor that I bought 8 years ago, seems much tougher and better built and has never fallen apart. actually, the predecessor was and still is great. Buy the old one - not the new one.
Originally, I was going to buy the original PIXI min-tripod, but I decided to go with this one instead. It's a very nice tripod which I intend to use for some in-the-cab recordings of my snow plowing (I didn't want to buy an expensive dash cam). I like that the legs are individually adjustable in both length, and with the slide of a small switch, height. This works out well for an irregularly shaped surface by the front window where the tripod sits. It's sturdy and the screw platform-head is very secure when mounting my mini-camcorder. Buyers should note that the head on the PIXI EVO model is held in place by the red color knob which screws-down your equipment; the original PIXI's platform could be adjusted and tightened by pushing-in the red color button, which was ... MoreOriginally, I was going to buy the original PIXI min-tripod, but I decided to go with this one instead. This is a very well made mini-tripod from Manfrotto. The price was fair and B&H delivered it very fast.
I bought this to allow me to place my pinhole camera at ground level without putting it on the wet, muddy ground or in a puddle, whilst allowing me to aim it. It's lightweight and easy to adjust and I found it easy to use. Sadly it's rather "bouncy", leading to blurred images. Tapping the camera with my finger makes it vibrate noticeably for a couple of seconds. The Gitzo mini traveller costs more but it is lighter and far more rigid. This Manfrotto is cheap and cheerful but I wouldn't use it with anything larger than a compact camera.
The little tripod has some well-thought-out features such as the ability to expand the legs to multiple positions and the ability to move the switch so the legs will flatten out on the ground. The problem for me is that it's not quite stable enough with my Nikon Z6ii, battery grip, 105mm macro lens, and ring light attached to it. With these items mounted, it's got too much spring to it and requires readjustment multiple times. The legs seem to be fine but the ball head connection post seems to be what is flexing under the weight of my setup. I think for a lighter camera, this tripod could be ideal.
I needed a small tripod for two purposes. 1. to attach a LumeCube for when I'm at my desk in front of a WebCam, and 2. for landscape pictures, where I have learned that (especially for wide angle) getting low to the ground can really help with composition.Chose this product because my main tripod is Manfrotto and I totally love it.Build quality... well it doesn't have that solid rigidity that feels so reassuring in a regular tripod, but it is lightweight (9.4oz / 267g). The leg spars and ball are aluminum; pretty much everything else is plastic. Folded in your bag it is about 9 / 23cm long and 2.5 / 6.5cm at its widest point. I tend to stow it with the ball head at 90° which saves about 1 / 2.5cm in length. The ball head isn't silky smooth but does tighten ... MoreI needed a small tripod for two purposes. 1. to attach a LumeCube for when I'm at my desk in front of a WebCam, and 2. for landscape pictures, where I have learned that (especially for wide angle) getting low to the ground can really help with composition.Chose this product because my main tripod is Manfrotto and I totally love it.Build quality... well it doesn't have that solid rigidity that feels so reassuring in a regular tripod, but it is lightweight (9.4oz / 267g). I tend to stow it with the ball head at 90° which saves about 1 / 2.5cm in length. The ball head isn't silky smooth but does tighten securely. Legs extend at two angles and two lengths. Standard position, the legs splay out so the mount is approx. 6 / 15cm off the ground. Flip a lever and the legs splay out further so your camera is now 2 closer to the ground, and on a much wider base for increased stability. There are no lockable intermediate positions. However, each leg can be extended an extra 2 / 5cm in five lockable steps, increasing height of the mount to a maximum of 7.5 / 19cm.Maximum rated weight is 5.5lb / 2.5kg. Loaded with my heaviest body/lens combo which comes in at 4.2lb / 1.9kg it feels acceptably stable. If there's any wobble it seems to come from between the ball and mount. Long exposures on a windy day might be challenging with hefty gear.Overall I'm happy and feel like I got good value. This mini tripod's light weight means I don't have to think too hard about including it in my bag for a day out.
The weight capacity seems accurate from a falling over perspective but if your camera has any sort of mirror whiplash you had better have mirror lockup, but even then it will subtly change the composition. The legs are just not solid at any extension setting and kinda rattle around. If you are expecting Manfrotto quality this is not that. It’s not made in Italy with the regular tripods. You could argue that’s not a surprise at this price but a disappointment from the brand. Alas I will keep searching for a premium tripod in this size to pair with my full size carbon Manfrotto…
I bought this Manfrotto mini tripod for my recently purchased GoPro H9. I have two other Manfrotto tripods and really like their products (robustness and design); this one is no exception. Well-designed, very compact and lightweight. Perfect for usage with GoPro, probably with a more regular DSLR although I would be careful in putting my heavy 1DX mk2 or 5DSR with their bulky L lenses on such tripod. It is no complain about the tripod but just common sense if you look at center of gravity and mass distribution. Here the legs can be conveniently extended, the ball works well although quite basic (but works well). The plate can receive adaptors for either the GoPro or the Manfrotto 200PL or Arcaswiss systems.I honestly could have put 5*, but did not want to ... MoreI bought this Manfrotto mini tripod for my recently purchased GoPro H9. Having compared to several other products, I recommend this product as well as ordering at B&H.
