I'm 6'1" and have always wanted a music stand at eye level. This it it!Th only thing I would add is maybe some clips to hold sheets, but not a huge deal.
As a 5'6" woman, it is just right for use on stage when it is fully collapsed. Fully extended, this unit would be appropriate for a standing Kareem Abdul Jabbar to play saxophone and read his music. When they use the word "tall" they mean it!

I play piano, but have weekly chamber sessions with a tall flute player. My old music stand is flimsy and doesn't go up very far, so my friend always had to sit down while playing. Orchestral music often doesn't have a steady tempo. You have to be able to see the conductor and your music at the same time. If you are tall and play standing up you need a tall stand. Be aware this is not an all purpose stand, because its minimimum height is about 36" at the bottom of the part that holds the music.
