I was looking for a DAB/FM radio and streamer in one device, with reasonable quality for use in a kitchen, and had to have a handset to operate (my wife doesn't do phone apps for music, and who wants to pick up their phone with food covered hands). This fitted the bill, and had plus points of Appleplay, Bluetooth and CD player with it. Good price point and sound as well.

Quite complex in the amount of features for someone of my age .It would be really helpful to have a simplistic guide to assist . The on line manual is too extensive and complex. Still cannot set up a favourites on radio.

After 17 years my stereo system was starting to play up. I like listening to my CD collection and having bought the current system from Audio T many years ago, I decided to call in to see what was on offer.Upon listening to the tone of the Marantz DAB system, I decided it was the one for me.I also decided to revamp the speakers which I saw on display and went for them as well.

I have always thought Marantz to be a good name for hifi products but had never bought anything from them until now. I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of the sound which I play through 4 speakers. I have mainly been using the usb port and memory stick which is great because I can see everything on the stick using the Heos app on my phone and control the whole device from it anywhere in my house.The only downside is it doesn't remember for some reason what track you were playing when you shut it down and open up again. Even my cheap MP3 player I use on holiday can remember. This to me is a very bad omission from Marantz, otherwise a good product.

This is a very capable product. The reason I selected it were the two outputs which without a switch were not available elsewhere. I previously had a Marantz 611 and after 4 years the CD failed so hope this will last a bit longer. I am not very techie and what is really needed is a good manual. The online version is useless unless you are an expert.

A great little box gets even better!

Bought this to replace a 611. They are like chalk and cheese! Dual band WiFi and Tunein replacing VTuner make a real difference to the operation and stability. It all comes in such a compact footprint. The only negative is that on the 611 you could change the front lighting colour, but on the 612 it is only white. Dual zone speaker wiring and bass boost are other great features.

All in one network music player

I bought this unit to replace a full size stereo setup in my living room. I had a cd player, integrated amplifier, Dac, and laptop to control. I like to have options for listening to music whether it was a regular cd, Pandora, or music from an external hard drive. This little box takes up less than a third of the cabinet space and does every bit of the work! I love using the HEOS app to control and choose what music is playing. And the app will seamlessly works whether I'm controlling it from my Iphone, or a Kindle fire, or switching between the two. Its also so easy to control my wife has figured it out!.As far as sound quality goes I am more than happy. Fantastic Concept with a but..

So 5 stars if the casing would have been made of aluminum or not have a high gloss finish. On that musical note, it probably would have cost a few hundred dollars more. I was disappointed at first because the high gloss plastic makes it look cheap. It will probably look lousy over time. Also it's not that heavy so it makes me wonder what kind of components are in it and if the unit can drive decent speakers which I have yet to buy.Now the fantastic part. Feature packed! CD player sounds amazing via my Senn's and B&O headphones (no speaker yet, remember ?) Nice ambient lighting options which was a nice surprise. Micro adjustments for sound i.e bass, treble etc. Lots of options for streaming audio thru internet, Alexa and other providers. Marantz - CR612 - Compact Network CD Receiver

I recently purchased the Marantz - CR612 - Compact Network CD Receiver intending to use the HEOS feature to play through my existing HEOS speakers but not actually have wired speakers connected to the Marantz amp (for the time being). Stuart wanted to make sure that my planned setup would work, so he made a call to a Denon expert to confirm. I really appreciated the extra care Stuart took to ensure the product met my needs. The CR612 has worked out great.

Marantz M-CR612 Streaming Network CD Receiver

Great receiver, great sound and easy to use, but was not easy to set up. It could not be linked to our wireless network, even by a professional Geek Squad technician, and in the end, had to be ethernet hardwired to connect to the Internet. There is a problem either with its software or hardware in that respect.
