Great unit. Only using it a few days but no issues. Using for my home entertainment system. 5.2 with 12” sub. No heating or power issues seen. Will note it was preset to a 15 minute auto shutoff so when watching a movie after 15 minutes it would turn off and when power on no problem. After the movie I dig through the serif. And found this so I switched it to off so no more auto shutoff.

We redid our first floor and I used the opportunity to build out the system of my dreams for the family room. I don't need a high wattage system for the 16 by 18 foot space. I put four speakers in the ceiling (rear and height). Plus the front array (left, right, center, sub). This sub is amazing for TV and movies. It complements the experience instead of dominating it. It does a seamless job of recognizing the best audio (surround, atmos, etc.). The set up was easy with system prompts and auto calibration. I recommend great speakers for this unit, but matched to the output of 50 watts. My Bowers & Wilkins are a bit too much for this receiver, the klipsch center and ceiling speakers (still high endish) are perfect.

I finally managed to get this delivered a week ago. It was the final piece of my system rebuild, of which 98% of which came from Richer Sounds Exeter. If they had sold the CD player and phono stage it would have all come from there. Now to the Marantz. I had wanted the NR1510, but as stock and deliveries could not be guaranteed, as is the case with all this kind of gear at the moment, I bit the bullet, and went for the more expensive 1711, as they had some coming in and only had to wait a week for it. I am so glad I did! This receiver, despite only offering up 50w per channel is a powerhouse for any small or medium sized room. Works perfectly with the Oberon 5’s as they are only 6 ohms. The features this thing has on board are endless, Spotify, you can voice control it with Alexa, it has Atmos virtualiser ( so if you don’t have the extra speakers) it emulates an atmos soundtrack. It’s looks are so stylish, so much better than the huge boxes from Denon and Yamaha. All this and a fabulous managers special. I can’t praise every single member of the Exeter team enough! Amazing, friendly helpful and knowledgeable customer service. Thank you all so much for all your help over the last 6/8 months guys.

Bought it a couple of weeks ago and only got it connected 3 days ago. It’s almost flawless and huge value for money. I bought it because it can be controlled by my TV remote of my LG remote (amp is hidden out of sight in a cupboard), does Atmos obvs but can also do stereo or multi channel stereo when listening to music. I didn’t want it processing or trying to be clever with music. I did the little microphone test thing but have pretty much thrown away the results and tweaked by spending hours watching scenes from films across my Atmos library. Only flaw is the app is a little laggy and when pressing FWD on iPhone (using airplay) there’s an audible “blip” each time like someone’s pulling a cable in/out of the amp. Great sound. Ex Yamaha 863 user.
I bought this AVR as wanted something more slimline. Having the Arcam SA20 G class amplifier and Arcam CDS50, Sony Ps5 and Sony 4k player I needed an 8K 4K 120Hz AVR. The Arcam SA20 powers the fronts, the speakers comprise of KEF Q950's, Q650C, Q350's, KUBE 12b, Q50a's. The sound combination for music with the Marantz is epic, love the warm sound it produces. For movies the combination works wonderfully, don't be put off by the size or output of the Marantz. It is more than loud enough for a medium to large sized room. I was looking at spending a lot more for either the SR8015 or Arcam AVR20. I am very very impressed with the NR1711, Atmos and surround formats are excellent. This is a fantastic receiver. It is compact, but has a solid, powerful sound. Lots of bass from just my two towers (no sub) and never sounds strained, even at high volume. The user interface is intuitive and once you have set everything up, including inout naming and assignments it is extremely easy to use, auto detecting sources, switching in and off with related equipment and making it easy to switch between sound profiles (e.g. just two speakers in pure direct for stereo). Huge fan of this thing.
I bought this unit primarily for it's Amazon HD streaming and small form factor. Coming from entry-level gear, I expected an improvement in stepping up to this $1000 unit. I was not disappointed. This system easily powers my Klipsch Reference/Reference Premier AV setup. One note on the power, the eco meter showing power output has been very helpful in allaying any concerns I have about the amp being underpowered, but there is an opportunity to place this feature into the Marantz Remote app for more info (break out by channel, graphing and other analysis) if the data was relayed to a smart app. I had a basic Sony amp with 100W per channel and the Marantz is playing just as loud but with more accurate sound on the same setup. Also really love playing Amazon music HD via the receiver to maximize sound quality. Working from home, I also use the legacy Echo Dot via RCA to allow my Marantz system to be a part of Amazon audio groups for whole house audio playback. I'm sure it's a challenge to get integrated with Amazon, but its a valuable feature for us Amazon music subscribers to keep improving the HEOS app. Another suggestion, allow me to disable the IOS HEOS pop asking for a choice to play the song or add it to the end of the queue since we can't create a queue when the music is sourced from Amazon. HEOS obviously has to do a lot of interoperability, but I would suggest more time testing use cases with real users on a per stream basis. All in all, this is the best value in the $1000 space in my mind. Glad I finally joined the Marantz bandwagon.
After years of hearing the virtues of Marantz audio devices, I finally bit the bullet and stepped into the arena. I am not disappointed. The product exudes polish and finesse. It was easy to setup and I am extremely pleased with the sound and the feature set. The on-screen menu is well thought out, and the auto-tune setup using the supplied mic worked like a charm. Highly recommended entry-level product.
Bought this to replace a perfectly good working Denon AVR-X2300W as slowly upgrading to Dolby Vision and 120Hz for games console. The unit is slimline and very easy to setup using my existing Onkyo Dolby Atmos speaker package. The old SR 6003 i had as the center of the system was getting a bit old. also having bought a 4k TV recently necessitated getting a new AVR.the NR1711 is absolutely wonderful. not as powerful as the 6003 (who needs that much power in a normal living room) but warmer better sound -- which is amazing, since the 6003 was really good.I have it in a 5.1 configuration, going into existing set of really good 4ohm speakers. i mostly listen to music and stream movies; sometimes sports. it does all those wonderfully in a small attractive package.very happy -- highly recommended
